Bowl Projection Roundup: Where each Pac-12 team is slotted to play after Week 12

A look at where the Pac-12 teams are slated to play in the postseason after Week 12 of the 2023 season.

We are just a week away from the regular season coming to an end, and two weeks away from bowl game matchups being set in stone while the College Football Playoff standings are finalized, deciding which four teams will get the chance to compete for a national championship.

That means that these games being played on rivalry weekend are of the utmost importance, while several teams try to get one final win to become bowl eligible, while others look to clinch a spot in conference championship games and keep their playoff hopes alive.

In the Pac-12, we’ve got a lot of both things happening, with a crucial matchup between Oregon and Oregon State, while Washington and Washington State also have an important affair.

Going into the last week, here are where all of the Pac-12 teams are projected to play in the postseason this year.

Can we all collectively take a second to mourn the fact that there are only three weeks left in the college football regular season? Man, that went by fast.

As we get down to the end of the road for some teams, and the jump to the postseason for others, the future outlook is starting to become clearer for all. Some teams are in desperation mode trying to grab their sixth win to become bowl-eligible, while others are sitting pretty, trying to strengthen their resume to potentially jump into the College Football Playoff at the end of the year.

Throughout the Pac-12, you’ve got a lot of teams still in contention to make a big-time bowl game at the end of the season. So where is everyone projected to play now that we’ve got 10 weeks of the season down? Let’s take a look:

The first official batch of College Football Playoff rankings came out on Tuesday night, giving us a look at where the top teams in the nation stand when it comes to the race for a spot in the playoff at the end of the year.

The Oregon Ducks debuted at No. 6 in the ranking, landing a spot behind the Washington Huskies and ranking as the top-ranked one-loss team in the nation.

The next several weeks will decide everything, as the top teams in the Pac-12 go up against each other and ultimately settle who will end up in the conference championship game in Las Vegas. From there, we will know who goes to which bowl game. As of now, here’s where all of the Pac-12 teams are projected to play in the postseason:

There have been a lot of changes in the Pac-12 over the past couple of weeks, and there will definitely be a lot going forward as some of the top teams in the conference continue to play against each other.

Last week, we saw the USC Trojans suffer their second loss of the year, while the Washington Huskies struggled to put one away at home against the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Meanwhile, Utah stepped up with their win over USC, and the Oregon Ducks managed to get by Washington State in the end.

So where does that leave everything in terms of bowl game projections going into Week 9? Let’s take a look:

For the past several weeks, we’ve looked at the bowl game projections for each team in the Pac-12 and watched as they’ve slightly changed based on the previous weeks’ results.

For the most part, there haven’t been very many games of magnitude in the conference thus far; ones that cause the landscape at the top of the conference go shift.

That changes this week, and going forward until the end of the season. We get Oregon vs. Washington, and USC vs. Notre Dame on Saturday, two games that could complete change the outlook of a season for the teams involved. Watching how the bowl game projections change after each week going forward will be interesting.

For now, let’s take a look at where each Pac-12 team is currently slated to play in the post season after Week 6 of the season:

Bowl Projection Round-Up: Where each Pac-12 team is slotted to play following non-conference slate

Bowl Projection Round-Up: Where each Pac-12 team is slotted to play following non-conference slate

It’s safe to say that the Pac-12 has been surpassing expectations so far through the non-conference slate of play to start the 2023 college football season. While over the past decade, the conference has largely been near the middle or bottom of national conference power rankings, the same can’t be said this year.

With non-conference play now behind us, the Pac-12 finished up with a total record of 29-5, boasting an incredible 8 teams in the top 25, and five teams in the top 12.

So when looking ahead to potential bowl game matchups, things are pretty rosy for the conference out west, no pun intended.

Here’s how things are shaping up for the Pac-12 in terms of bowl game projections after non-conference play:

Bowl Projection Round-Up: Where each Pac-12 team is slotted to play after undefeated Week 1

The Pac-12 is the only undefeated conference in the nation through Week 1. Here’s where all 12 teams are projected to play in the postseason.

While the past several months have gone about as poorly as you could possibly imagine for the Pac-12 Conference, with all but two teams deciding to jump ship and agree to join other conferences starting in 2024, the last two weeks have gone just about perfectly.

Throughout Week 0 and Week 1, Pac-12 teams are undefeated, with a perfect 13-0 record. They are they only conference in the nation left without a loss on the record, and they stand as one of the most entertaining leagues in the year this season.

As you would expect, this has brought with it some lofty predictions for the remainder of the season. Week to week as more games are played, we will revisit some bowl game outlooks to get a sense of what the projected ceiling is for each team.

Here is a roundup of the most notable bowl game projections following Week 1:

Bowl game projections for each Pac-12 team after spring ball

Even though there are 4 months before the college football season, it’s never too early to look at what Pac-12 bowl game matchups could look like.

Now that spring football is over, we have a better idea of what each college football team will look like next season. While there are still 4 months before the first game is played, the college football world is making plenty of predictions about how the next season will end up.

Earlier this week, 247Sports released its predictions for every 2023 bowl matchup. In the Pac-12, they project eight teams to make it to a bowl game, and of those eight, USC and Washington are expected to play in New Year’s Six games.

The Pac-12 is slated to be an offensive powerhouse next season, although many of the top teams have burgeoning defensive units as well. With several top QBs in the conference, much of that offense will come in the air, which should make for exciting interconference play all season.

This year will be USC and UCLA’s last as members of the Pac-12, and it could be one of the most competitive seasons the Pac-12 has seen in a while. There are four or five teams that could wind up as conference champions, and whichever team does, could find itself in the College Football Playoff.

Below are the bowl projections for each Pac-12 team.

Bowl Projection Round-Up: Where each Pac-12 team is slotted to play ahead of last regular-season games

There are a lot of bowl game ramifications riding on this last week of the regular season. Here’s where everyone is projected to land at the moment.

The Pac-12 is among the strongest conferences in the nation this season.

At this point, six of the 12 teams in the Pac are ranked inside the top 25 in the nation which is the most of any conference. The USC Trojans are in contention to make it to the College Football Playoff, and a handful of other teams have a shot to make it to a New Year’s Six Bowl Game as well.

Things could get interesting in the coming weeks, though.

While USC faces a tough matchup against Notre Dame, and Oregon heads to Corvallis to battle the Oregon State Beavers, the Pac-12 Championship game will have major ramifications for whichever team is going to get to which bowl game.

At this point, here is where everyone in the Pac-12 is projected to land.

Bowl Projection Round-Up: Where each Pac-12 team is slotted to play after wild Week 11

The Pac-12 bowl projections suffered a major shake-up this week with both Oregon and UCLA going down in upset fashion.

Things were looking so great for the Pac-12 Conference about a week ago, weren’t they? Three teams ranked in the top 10 with a real chance at the College Football Playoff; 4 ranked in the top 12; 5 ranked in the top 25.

Things change quickly.

Of course, the overall top-25 standing still looks good out west, but with the Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins both suffering upset losses on Saturday, the Pac-12 now only has one team — the USC Trojans — in playoff contention, while everyone else fights for a spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game and an opportunity to make it to the Rose Bowl.

With such big losses at the top of the conference, the bowl picture suffered a big shake-up this week. No longer does it look like we will see multiple Pac-12 teams in New Year’s Six bowl games as we did a week ago. Everyone moved down a peg, with the likely winner of the conference championship taking the top spot in the Rose Bowl, rather than the CFP.

Take a look at this week’s crop of bowl predictions.
