Boston’s Derrick White has been thriving on Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics

White has been a star in his role.

Starting Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White has been thriving on Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. To talk it over, “You Got Boston’s” Noa Dalzell recently broke down why. You Got Boston is a brand-new Celtics podcast with Noa Dalzell, a reporter for SB Nation and CLNS Media.

In episode two, Dalzell discusses Team USA’s massive win over South Sudan, and Derrick White’s elite performance in particular. We dive into what makes a great Olympic basketball player and why Jrue Holiday has been that for so long. Steph Curry, Team USA basketball show support for Simone Biles, Suni Lee in Olympics gymnastics final

Steph Curry was in the building as Simone Biles earned another gold medal for Team USA gymnastics.

With a day off during the group stage in Paris, Stephen Curry and other members of Team USA’s men’s basketball program made an appearance at the gymnastics all-around final to show support for legendary Olympians Simone Biles and Suni Lee.

Curry and Team USA cheered on Biles as she won gold and Lee as she won bronze in the all-around competitions. Both Biles and Lee received their second medals in the 2024 Olympics after securing gold in the team all-around final. Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade earned the silver medal in the event.

Lee won gold in the all-around three years ago in Tokyo with Biles winning it before that in 2016 in Rio. Team USA has won gold in the gymnastics all-around in five straight Olympic games.

Biles’ gold medal on Thursday was the ninth Olympic medal of her career, the most ever won by an American gymnast. Biles could potentially add more medals as she’s set to compete in three more events in Paris, the balance beam, floor exercise and vault.

Curry and Team USA men’s basketball will be back on the court on Saturday morning in Lille for the final leg of the group stage against Puerto Rico.

Reminder that in high school, Team USA’s Olympic star Bam Adebayo was unstoppable

Bam Adebayo was good, even in high school.

Despite coming off the bench on Thursday, United States basketball’s Bam Adebayo was the leading scorer for the Americans in a 103-86 win in the Olympics.

And for those who have followed Adebayo’s career for a while, his dominant performance for the United States in the Olympics is to be expected.

As a class of 2016 recruit from High Point Christian (High Point, North Carolina), the now Miami Heat star was a five-star recruit and the seventh-best prospect in the nation according to Rivals. He picked Kentucky over offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest among others.

He showed unreal explosiveness and the ability to play above the rim. Not unlike his showing on Thursday for Team USA in the Olympics.

Check out some of these highlights of Adebayo:

Against South Sudan, Adebayo also added seven rebounds. He was 8-of-10 from the floor including making two of his three attempts from behind the arc.

Breanna Stewart’s and A’ja Wilson’s dominant Olympics performance inspired so many wildly creative memes

Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson are steamrolling the Olympic field.

Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson are carrying Team USA on their backs right now.

Listen, there’s been so much chatter about the women’s Team USA roster, including whether people deserve to be there, whether Caitlin Clark should be on it, why Arike Ogunbowale isn’t playing and so on. I’d be hard-pressed to think that the team hasn’t heard the chatter, but they sure are playing like it doesn’t even matter.

A lot of that has to do with Stewie and A’ja. Stewie has become a flat-out menace on both ends of the floor, and A’ja is doing A’ja things (you know, leading the Olympics in multiple double-doubles). On Thursday, Belgium was no match for their combined 49 points, 20 rebounds, and seven-plus steals and blocks en route to a sound Team USA win.

Their efforts have been so good that fans are digging deep into their meme bags to describe what they are seeing.

Andy Murray ended his pro tennis career with the most perfect 5-word tweet

What a way to cap off an incredible career.

Andy Murray’s incredible tennis career came to an end on Thursday in Paris as his Great Britain doubles team with Dan Evans fell to Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul. Murray’s pro career started in 2005 and ended in 2024 with a remarkable singles’ record of 739–262, three Grand Slam titles (U.S. Open in 2012, Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016) and two Olympic gold medals (2012 and 2016).

MORE: Can Simone Biles dunk? Kevin Durant thinks so (and the math checks out)

After concluding his illustrious lifetime on the court as a professional player, the 37-year-old tennis legend summed up his career in the most perfect way with a five-word tweet.

“Never even liked tennis anyway.”

Murray also quickly changed his bio from “I play tennis” to “I played tennis.”

An icon.

Can Simone Biles dunk? Kevin Durant thinks so (and the math checks out)

Who wants to be the person to tell Simone Biles what she can’t do?

If you’ve spent the past few weeks watching USA Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles flying through the air, you’ve probably had a very silly thought cross your mind:

Can Simone Biles dunk?

Nearly a foot shorter than Spud Webb, Biles’ high-flying acts in her floor routine have basketball fans rethinking what’s possible. Actually, scratch that. Biles has some of the best basketball players in the world rethinking what’s possible.

So let’s do the math. An NBA rim sits at 10 feet high. So let’s be generous and say you need to get to 10-foot-6 to successfully dunk. At 4-foot-8, Biles would need to get about six feet in the air to have a chance. Can Biles reach that height?

She can — and then some. At her peak in the air, Biles flies 12 feet off the ground. And remember, these mats aren’t built to aid anyone’s jump, rather the shock absorption is meant to help the gymnasts with their landings.

Would she be able to reach that height with a basketball? Here’s a better question: Would she even need to if she could just catch a lob and throw it down?

According to Kevin Durant, that’s really no question at all.

And now, for an artist’s rendering of what that would look like.

Yep, completely checks out. Biles could probably dunk, at least she has plenty of people convinced she can, anyways.

Until Biles proves there’s something she can’t do, we just have to assume it’s possible. How else do you explain this?

Simone Biles actually pulled out an iced-out baby goat necklace after winning Olympic gold

A goat for a GOAT. It’s PERFECT.

Yes, Simone Biles actually pulled out an iced-out goat necklace after winning gold in the women’s gymnastics individual all-around.

Last season, someone made Simone Biles a GOAT hat, and I thought that was truly something. But her new chain might have upped the score. Thursday evening, Simone practically had the floor routine of her life to secure another historic gold medal. Right on cue, she pulled out an absolutely sick necklace with a baby goat on the chain.

YES, A BABY GOAT FOR THE LITERAL GOAT. This is my kind of carrying-on. I have so many questions. Who made the necklace? How long has she had it? Did she seemingly always know she would win gold?! WE LOVE TO SEE IT. NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR THE GOAT.

USA vs. Morocco: How to watch Olympics, TV channel, live stream

The U.S. will aim for a place in the medal round with a win over the Atlas Lions

For the first time in 24 years, the United States men have reached the knockout stage in men’s soccer.

Marko Mitrović’s under-23 side advanced from Group A with an emphatic 3-0 win over Guinea on Tuesday, clinching a quarterfinal date with Morocco in Paris on Saturday.

The U.S. started the competition with a 3-0 defeat to France before rebounding with a 4-1 win over New Zealand.

Now the team is in the last eight for the first time since the 2000 Sydney Games, when the U.S. went all the way to the semifinal, losing to Spain before also falling against Chile in the bronze-medal match.

The U.S. has never won a medal in men’s soccer in the modern Olympics.

Fans loved Simone Biles and Suni Lee celebrating together after winning Olympic gold and bronze

SIMONE AND SUNI FOREVER.

Simone Biles and Suni Lee joyously celebrated together after winning Olympic medals in the women’s individual all-around final, and fans totally loved it.

Oh, my goodness. It wasn’t enough for Simone to absolutely crush the competition Thursday evening after winning her sixth Olympic gold medal in the event. But she also wholesomely celebrated with Suni — who won a well-deserved bronze medal — on the floor in a super heartwarming moment.

Suni’s kidney condition has created some unimaginable hurdles for her, including not being able to train for the Olympics until January of this year. So, seeing her screaming away and jumping with excitement after winning was fantastic, and I can’t stand it.

Olympics fans totally loved the moment, too, and couldn’t help but comment on it.
