The Denver Broncos (3-6) are considered 3-point betting favorites against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) in Week 11, according to Tipico Sportsbook. The Broncos will have home-field advantage playing at Empower Field at Mile High.

The over/under for total points scored between Denver and Las Vegas this week has been set at 41.5.

Early odds favor Ohio State by wide margin over Maryland

Early odds favor #Tipico Ohio State by wide margin over Maryland #GoBucks

It’s that time of the week when we get the early odds for the college football games that will take place this weekend, and if you found our site or are a loyal reader, we’re sure you are interested in what the line has been set for Ohio State football’s matchup with Maryland on Saturday.

As you would imagine, Ohio State is favored very heavily against one of the more unique teams in the Big Ten. We get our odds from Tipico, and the popular online sportsbook has the early odds with Ohio State being a massive 27.5-point favorite.

The total for the over/under has been set at 64.5-points, which seems a bit low, considering they expect the Buckeyes to win by approximately 28 points. Still, perhaps they expect Ohio State to suffocate the Maryland offense, but this is a Terrapin offense with enough skill to make things difficult for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State and Maryland are set to kick things off at 3:30 PM ET on ABC. We’ll continue to monitor the spread on this one if it changes either way.

Saints somehow open as home favorites ahead of must-win Week 11 Rams game

The Saints somehow opened as narrow favorites at home ahead of their must-win game against the Rams in Week 11:

Huh? We’re already shifting focus to Week 11 on the New Orleans Saints’ schedule, and they’re somehow favored to win their next game after dropping back-to-back losses to start the season at 3-7. Tipico Sportsbook opened its Week 11 NFL lines with the Saints favored by 3 points over the visiting Los Angeles Rams, which is surprising after New Orleans lost by double digits in each of the last two weeks.

But the Rams might be in even worse shape. They’re expecting to be without superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp for some time after he suffered an ankle injury in Week 10, and quarterback Matthew Stafford may be unavailable as well while managing his own injury. Their defense hasn’t lived up to expectations, either. There’s good reasons for this game opening with a 39-point over/under, suggesting a final tally close to Saints 21, Rams 18.

Regardless of what the oddsmakers are saying about it, this is a must-win game for both teams. The Saints are losing relevance in the NFC South week by week. And the Rams are falling off, too. Both teams are feeling the pain of going all-in chasing a Super Bowl trophy — and frustratingly, only L.A. can say they went the distance. We could go off on a tangent here about you-know-what, but enough ink has been spilled about that to last us a lifetime. Let’s see if the Saints can at least start to earn their way back into fans’ good graces with a win on Sunday against one of their team’s oldest rivals.

Notre Dame bowl projections following domination of Clemson

What is more important in regards to Notre Dame’s ultimate bowl destination: opponent, location, winnability, or other?

Unless you’re living under a bridge in a far-off land, you’re aware Notre Dame kicked the living daylights out of previously unbeaten Clemson last week and moved to 6-3 on the year.  The Irish officially became bowl eligible with the victory and we scoured the internet to find where the experts see Notre Dame heading this winter.

As a Notre Dame fan (which we assume you are since you’re at Fighting Irish Wire), do you have a preference on where the Irish head?  Does it not matter to you as long as it’s warm?  A big-name opponent?  A cool city?  A winnable game?

If it’s not the College Football Playoff then most people have their desires for a bowl appearance that has to do with one of the above.  Here is where the 12 outlets we found have Notre Dame heading this postseason.  Comment below with which you would prefer or would most like to avoid.

2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open odds, field notes, best bets and picks to win

Sam Burns’ two finishes at Memorial Park: T-7 and T-7.

After a week south of the border, the PGA Tour returns to the states for the Cadence Bank Houston Open in Houston, Texas.

Three of the world’s top 15 players, including No. 2 Scottie Scheffler, are set to tee off Thursday at Memorial Park Golf Course. Scheffler, who finished in a tie for third at Mayakoba last Sunday, is the betting favorite at +550. His good buddy Sam Burns is next in line at +1200 before Tony Finau and Aaron Wise come in at +1500.

Last season, LIV Golf’s Jason Kokrak won by two shots over Kevin Tway and Scheffler.

With a win this week, Scheffler would return to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

NFL odds: Broncos are underdogs vs. Titans in Week 10

The #Broncos are 3-point underdogs vs. the #Titans this week, according to @Tipico Sportsbook.

The Denver Broncos (3-5) are considered 3-point road underdogs against the Tennessee Titans (5-3) in Week 10 of the 2022 NFL season, according to odds from Tipico Sportsbook.

The over/under for total points scored between the two teams has been set at 39 — oddsmakers are clearly expecting a low-scoring, defensive battle.

Before their bye, the Broncos were considered 1.5-point underdogs against the Jaguars in Week 8 and Denver won by four points. Last week, the Titans were considered 12-point underdogs against the Chiefs and Tennessee lost by three points.

The Titans lead the all-time series against the Broncos 24-18-1, including a 16-14 win in their most recent meeting in 2020.

Reeling Packers will be home underdogs to Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys in Week 10

The Packers have lost five straight games and will now be a home underdog to Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys this week.

Mike McCarthy will return to Green Bay to face a reeling Packers team as a road favorite in Week 10.

Tipico Sportsbook has the Packers as five-point underdogs (+5.0) against the Dallas Cowboys this week (current as of Monday afternoon).

The over/under is set at 42.5 points.

Matt LaFleur’s team is 3-6 and a home underdog for the first time this season.

It’s not hard to understand why: The Packers are returning to Lambeau Field after losing five consecutive games in five different stadiums; McCarthy’s Cowboys are 6-2, winners of two straight and coming off the bye week.

A potentially huge mismatch exists between the Packers’ 27th ranked scoring offense and the Cowboys’ 3rd ranked scoring defense. Green Bay scored all of nine points on Sunday during a loss to the Detroit Lions.

The Packers haven’t been a home underdog since beating the Los Angeles Rams at Lambeau Field as 1.5-point underdogs last November.

To snap the five-game losing streak, the Packers will have to pull of another upset, this time against a team coached by McCarthy, who led the franchise to its last Super Bowl title in 2010.

Sunday will mark the first time McCarthy has coached at Lambeau Field as a visitor. He was hired as the Cowboys coach before the 2020 season.

Early odds favor Ohio State by wide margin over Indiana

Massive early @Tipico odds favor Ohio State over Indiana. Do you look for the Buckeyes to make a statement and cover? #GoBucks

It’s that time of the week when we get the early odds for the college football games that will take place this weekend, and if you found our site or are a loyal reader, we’re sure you are interested in what the line has been set for Ohio State football’s matchup with Indiana on Saturday.

As you would imagine, Ohio State is favored very, very heavily against arguably one of the more underwhelming teams in the Big Ten. We get our odds from Tipico, and the popular online sportsbook has the early odds with Ohio State being a massive 41-point favorite.

The total for the over/under has been set at 57.5-points, which seems a bit low, considering they expect the Buckeyes to win by approximately 41 points. Still, perhaps they expect Ohio State to come out with a vengeance after a miserable week against Northwestern.

Notre Dame-No. 5 Clemson: ESPN FPI projects Irish chances of upset

What kind of chances are you giving the Irish to upset Clemson?

Notre Dame played what was probably their best overall game Saturday in defeating previously No. 16 Syracuse away from home.  The win moved Notre Dame back into the receiving votes category of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, but how did an entity without bias judge the Irish win?

Based on improved projections from a week ago, one would say pretty good.

ESPN has updated its Football Power Index, something we like to look at each week.   It doesn’t guarantee results by any means but does give information as to how good, average, or poor a team may be and gives each team’s chances at victory in a given game.

Here is what ESPN’s FPI says about Notre Dame the rest of the way after the Irish win at Syracuse.

2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba odds, field notes, best bets and picks to win

If Jason Day can get it going on the greens in Mexico, watch out.

After a week on the beautiful island of Bermuda, the PGA Tour heads to another breathtaking part of the world, Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Several of the best players in the world, including world No. 2 Scottie Scheffler and two-time defending champion Viktor Hovland, headline yet another strong field.

After his 2020 triumph, Hovland came back to Mayakoba last season and out dueled Carlos Ortiz and Justin Thomas, winning by four strokes.

Five players who finished inside the top 10 last season now play on the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf Series.

Scheffler, who grabbed a solo fourth here a year ago, is the betting favorite at +900.
