Atlanta has two major issues.

It can’t really stop the run. New Orleans isn’t going to do anything crazy. It’s going to run with Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram, run them some more, and repeat. The Falcons got run over by Carolina last week and gave up 100 yards or more on the ground in four of the last five games.

Calvin Ridley – his absence kills the team’s yardage total. Kyle Pitts will get targeted a ton, and Ryan moves the ball around, but the passing game sputtered last week without Ridley.

Ryan will get his yards in this.

New Orleans will come up with the big stops needed to close out drives and force field goals, and there won’t be any running game from Atlanta. Siemian will be fine – nothing special – and Kamara and Ingram will combine for close to 200 yards as the Saint O is more methodical than sensational.

The running game should start working again.

The Raiders only have two 100-yard games, and they’re having too much fun bombing away with the passing attack, but the Giants are getting run on too easily allowing more than 100 yards in four of the last five games.

With the emergence of Kenyan Drake to go along with Josh Jacobs, it’ll be too easy to keep hading the ball off and pound away, Derek Carr shouldn’t have much of an issue against a porous Giants pass D, and the offense will keep on coming without the mistakes.

New York lives on takeaways, and Las Vegas doesn’t give them up – it has yet to turn it over multiple times in a game.

The defense has stepped up.

The offense has been a struggle with Saquon Barkley not able to do much and with a constantly banged up receiving corps, but the D held down Kansas City to 20 points and stuffed Carolina in a 25-3 win.

Daniel Jones has been quietly solid. He’s not among the elite quarterbacks by any means, but he’s doing a decent job of carrying the O by himself, and he should be able push the passing game a bit with a whole lot of dinking and dunking to keep the chains moving.

The Giants are heading into the bye week and the Raiders are coming off of theirs.

Buffalo isn’t making enough mistakes to give this away, and Jacksonville isn’t doing anything to force errors.

The Jaguars have just two takeaways on the year, and Buffalo has just two turnovers in its last five games. There’s no need to do anything crazy here.

Go with the balanced attack, don’t take any chances, assume the defense will come through time and again and assume the pass defense will take care of Lawrence.

Buffalo hasn’t exactly been sharp over its last few games, and it’s going to try rectifying that right away in this.

The worst pass defense in the NFL is about to get bombed on – at least, Minnesota has to give it a shot.

Granted, the stats are skewed after getting blasted by Cleveland and New England over the last few weeks, but everyone but Las Vegas ran wild on the NFL’s worst run defense before that.

Boston Scott, Jordan Howard, and Jalen Hurts are able to combine forces to throw a variety of options at the Charger D – the Eagles rolled for 236 yards against Detroit – and they should be able to come up with a second straight game without having to go all out to rally late.

The pressure actually isn’t on Love – this has been a tumultuous week and a loss would almost all fall on Rodgers, at least by the fans and the media. Kansas City is trying to stay alive and it’s supposed to win at home over the new guy quarterback.

It’s not just Murray – DeAndre Hopkins is hurting, too.

San Francisco is coming off a great day on the ground against Chicago, with Elijah Mitchell growing into a star – as long as he can stay healthy. The Cardinals got run over by Khalil Herbert and Justin Fields last week, and the 49ers will throw Trey Lance into the equation, too.

The pass defense is among the best in the NFL, the D is great at getting off the field, and it was able to hold Arizona to 17 points in the first game – and that was when Murray was healthy.

The Tennessee pass defense has been a tad soft.

It’s doing an okay job at getting to the quarterback, but it’s not going to stop Matthew Stafford from letting his downfield passes develop. More than that, he’s not going to screw up.

The Titans might be great at forcing takeaways, but the rams aren’t screwing up with none in the last two games and with four of the eight games without a giveaway.

Why Chicago Will Win

Chicago lost last week to San Francisco, but the offense started to show sparks.

It was just one touchdown run, but that was the Justin Fields everyone was waiting for. Khalil Herbert has been great, David Montgomery might be back, and the Bears are going to try grinding away on a Steeler run defense that was great last week against the Browns but will give up yards.

Can Pittsburgh get all of the parts working against the Chicago defense? Every once in a while – like in the win over the Raiders and the victory over the Bengals – this group finds another gear to do a whole lot of bending without a lot of breaking.

The Steelers will get the yards. Getting points on the board hasn’t been easy for this attack.

Why Pittsburgh Will Win

The Chicago defense isn’t all that bad statistically, but it just got run over by San Francisco, Jimmy Garrappolo was magnificent, and it was the third time in six games the team allowed more than 400 yards.

The Steelers aren’t going to give up a slew of turnovers, and Chicago’s D doesn’t force them – just one in the last three games.

Keep this simple. Make it a steady diet of Najee Harris, send the great defensive ends after Fields and make him take off – it’s fine if he has a big run or three – and don’t worry a lick about the league’s worst passing game.

Chicago won’t hit 150 yards through the air.

This team has a horrible habit of going into the tank fast if the gameplan doesn’t work.
