Which teams are most linked to Commanders DE Montez Sweat?

Could the Commanders receive a second-round pick for Montez Sweat?

Will the Washington Commanders trade one of their defensive ends ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline?

While there is a lot of buzz about Washington being sellers at the deadline, ESPN’s John Keim said a fire sale is unlikely.

However, it’s become increasingly clear the Commanders will likely trade at least one of Montez Sweat or Chase Young. Jay Glazer of FOX Sports was the latest to confirm one of Washington’s defensive linemen would be dealt.

Rumors about interested teams are one thing. The truth is, several teams have likely called the Commanders just to check the price of Young, Sweat and others, such as Jonathan Allen. Allen isn’t going anywhere.

Last week, Nicki Jhabvala confirmed that one NFL team had an offer on the table for Sweat. It’s not known who made the offer or what the offer was, but Ben Standig of The Athletic had some details on Monday.

Standig said one team had offered the Commanders a third-round pick for Sweat that would turn into a second-round pick if Sweat signed an extension. While Sweat is a terrific player, if that deal is legit, Washington should take it. If the Commanders aren’t planning on re-signing both edge rushers, then trading one now for an early day-two pick is good business.

Washington could still use the franchise tag on Young.

And while Standig didn’t say where the offer was from, he did confirm interest from the Atlanta Falcons. Sweat played high school football in Georgia.

There is also a lot of smoke around Sweat and the San Francisco 49ers, but nothing substantial that indicates there will be a deal between the two sides. However, San Francisco GM John Lynch is known to be aggressive.

As it gets closer to the deadline, it becomes more apparent that Sweat’s time in Washington will soon be coming to an end.

4 players Chargers should trade for ahead of NFL trade deadline

Here are four names that could fit the bill for the Chargers as the trade deadline nears.

The NFL trade deadline is close.

Sitting at 3-4 and still in a spot to make a playoff run, the Chargers could afford to add some reinforcements at positions of need.

With that said, each Chargers Wire writer laid out a player that Los Angeles should look to inquire about.

Another report says Bengals won’t do much at NFL trade deadline

Another report with thoughts about the Bengals at the trade deadline.

With the NFL trade deadline looming, yet another report has cautioned fans not to expect much from the Cincinnati Bengals.

This one comes from Pro Football Network’s Adam Caplan, who talked to sources who point to the team’s usual business practices:

What we’re hearing: From talking to league sources about this team, they typically do not look to make trades at the in-season deadline; rather, they tend to let their free agents walk if they decide not to re-sign them or are unable to reach contract agreements and have no problem getting compensatory picks for the future.

Another report before the Bengals beat the 49ers in San Francisco over the weekend also said the Bengals aren’t expected to make any moves.

This isn’t all that shocking given how the team has operated in the past. Still, the idea the team might make a smaller move like getting Samaje Perine back or even getting Hayden Hurst back at a cheap cost is worth talking about.

Alas, that’s two reports making it seem like the Bengals aren’t very active on the phones right now.

Bucs HC Todd Bowles: Tampa Bay will be ‘listeners’ at the trade deadline

While Bowles stressed that he doesn’t anticipate the team being buyers or sellers, he didn’t rule out making a move if it fits the team.

Could the Tampa Bay Buccaneers make a move at the trade deadline? It’s unlikely, but according to Bucs head coach Todd Bowles, don’t rule it out, either.

Bowles was asked on Monday after the team’s mini-bye week if Tampa Bay could make some moves before the trade deadline on Oct. 31, and while he indicated that it’s unlikely the Bucs will participate in the proceedings, he did make one thing clear — the team will certainly listen.

“I think we’re listeners,” Bowles told media Monday. “It’s got to fit us and it’s got to come that way. We’re not looking to buy or sell, but we’re looking to listen. If anything comes about, we’ll take a look at it.”

Logistically, the Bucs making any additions wouldn’t make a lot of sense — as it stands right now, Tampa Bay only has 3.8 million dollars in cap space, so a big addition would likely require restructuring the team can’t afford at the moment. Although unlikely while one game back from the NFC South, the Bucs could be sellers — both wide receiver Mike Evans and linebacker Devin White have been unhappy with their contract situations, and it’s feasible that the team could get picks from those two players for next year’s season.

Top positions the Bills could target at the 2023 NFL trade deadline

Where would you want Beane to add someone?

The Buffalo Bills entered the 2023 NFL season with the hopes of having a roster that was destined for the Super Bowl.

Thanks to certain circumstances, mainly injury, that has proven to not be the case.

The Bills sit at 5-3 and could be in a position of being a buyer at the 2023 trade deadline. Not to mention, general manager Brandon Beane has never been shy about pulling the trigger on a deal.

If he and Buffalo’s front office decide a move is needed, there are a few position group to add to on the team’s current roster.

With that, here are four positions the Bills could target ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. trade deadline:

2023 NFL trade deadline: 7 players on offense for the Bills to target

2023 NFL trade deadline: Could the #Bills still keep adding to their offense?

The 2023 NFL trade deadline is just around the corner and even though there is already one transaction completed, there could still be more to come.

The Buffalo Bills (5-3) signed running back Leonard Fournette. But if there’s a deal to be made before the deadline on Tuesday at 4 p.m., you better believe the Bills will be listening.

General manager Brandon Beane has never been shy about making a trade. Most recently, Beane made one at last year’s deadline, landing running back Nyheim Hines from the Indianapolis Colts. And much more recently, reconstructing the contract of Dion Dawkins has given Buffalo more salary cap space to work with.

And even with Fournette added, here are seven players on offense that the Bills could target at the upcoming trade deadline:

Leonard Williams trade grades: Who won the Giants – Seahawks deal?

Williams joins a Super Bowl contender in Seattle while the Giants start a proper rebuild.

The 2023 NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday, but Monday served up a whopper of a move in the NFC. The New York Giants sent defensive lineman Leonard Williams to the Seattle Seahawks, which could have significant ramifications on the NFC’s landscape.

On the one hand, Seattle acquires a top-tier pass rusher that completes what might become one of the NFL’s best defenses in the second half of the season. Watch out, NFC. Pete Carroll and his friends aren’t messing around. Meanwhile, the woeful Giants are clearly starting a proper rebuild — which is good because they needed one. General manager Joe Schoen knows his team needs more time and more lottery tickets in the draft, and this trade helps in that regard.

But who came out on top in this semi-blockbuster deal? Let’s hand out some grades.

Falcons Twitter calls for trade after Grady Jarrett’s injury

Falcons Twitter wants to see a trade now that Grady Jarrett has been ruled out for the season

The Atlanta Falcons suffered a significant injury just two days before the 2023 NFL trade deadline. Grady Jarrett tore his ACL during Sunday’s loss to the Titans, ending his season and leaving a big hole to fill along the team’s defensive line.

While the Falcons have said they will explore all possibilities in regard to replacing Jarrett, fans are hoping the team will swing a trade for a defensive lineman before Tuesday’s trade deadline.

Here’s how Falcons Twitter reacted to Jarrett’s injury news.

1 deadline trade — Derrick Henry! Chase Young! — for all 11 teams who can win Super Bowl 58

Where could Brian Burns, Jerry Jeudy, Derrick Henry and Chase Young do the most damage via trade?

The NFL trade deadline is soon upon us. While the Philadelphia Eagles jumped the line by acquiring former All-Pro Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans, they won’t be the only contender to add veteran talent before the books are closed on 2023’s deals.

Recent deadline deals have seen a relative flurry of activity compared to previous seasons. In 2022 alone, we saw Christian McCaffrey, Calvin Ridley, TJ Hockenson and, sigh, Chase Claypool change teams via in-season trade. With a wide open playoff race and 14 slots available, there will be plenty of buyers looking for help as the 4 p.m. ET deadline approaches on October 31.

But only a handful of the teams involved will be legitimate Super Bowl contenders. While clubs with postseason hopes can fill holes in flawed rosters, 11 teams have shown the ability to seize their destiny this winter and bring a Super Bowl parade to their hometowns. And with a robust market of players working through the waning years of contracts with teams outside the realm of contention, there are season-changing moves to be made.

Here are those teams, with first dibs given to the ones lowest on this week’s power rankings (which, spoiler alert, don’t technically come out until tomorrow, but this thing’s got a shelf life, you know). Which tradeable veterans could be the missing piece to a Super Bowl run?

2023 NFL trade deadline: 8 players on defense for the Bills to target

2023 NFL trade deadline: 8 players on defense for the #Bills to target:

The 2023 NFL trade deadline is just around the corner.

The Buffalo Bills (5-3) are potentially in a position to be buyers at the deadline once again, which is slated for Tuesday at 4 p.m.

General manager Brandon Beane has never been shy about making a deal. Most recently, Beane made a trade at last year’s deadline, landing running back Nyheim Hines from the Indianapolis Colts. And much more recently, reconstructing the contract of Dion Dawkins has given Buffalo more salary cap space to work with.

With the way things are shaping up this season, is there an addition Beane and the Bills could make to fortify their playoff and hopeful Super Bowl push?

With that, here are eight players on defense that the Bills could target at the upcoming trade deadline:
