Jaguars’ Week 18 finale vs. Titans scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday

The NFL announced the full schedule for Week 18.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ regular season finale will start at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the NFL announced near the end of a Sunday Night Football game in Week 17.

The Jaguars will be the AFC South champions if they beat the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Jan. 7. But a day before Jacksonville gets that chance, the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans will play Saturday night to take temporary control of the division.

If the Jaguars lose to the Titans, they can still get in the playoffs. Jacksonville would need the Baltimore Ravens to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday and the Las Vegas Raiders to beat the Denver Broncos later in the day Sunday.

Anything less than a win against the Titans would be a massive disappointment, though.

Tennessee lost by 20 in its Week 11 game at EverBank Stadium and dropped to 5-11 on the year with a 26-3 loss to the Texans in Week 17.

Last season, the Jaguars beat the Titans in a Week 18 primetime game to secure the AFC South title.

What’s at stake for 49ers in Week 15?

The games that matter for the 49ers in Week 15:

The 49ers have a playoff spot in hand heading into Week 15, but they won’t be coasting to the regular season finish line.

For San Francisco internally the stakes are easy. They are the NFC’s No. 1 seed entering the week, and if they win out, they’ll have a first-round bye and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. It’s a massive advantage.

While they control their own destiny, they can get some help elsewhere on the schedule that can create a little wiggle room for them where slipping up against the Ravens at home in Week 16, or faltering vs. the Commanders on the road the week after, or dropping a division game to the Rams to close the season won’t end their bid for the No. 1 seed.

Here are some other games that’ll matter for the 49ers on Saturday, Sunday and Monday:

Relax, snowflake: Cowboys dodging major bullet vs Bills in Week 15

It’s safe to say the Cowboys caught a break in weather conditions for their Week 15 matchup with the Bills in Buffalo, even if things won’t be ideal. | From @ReidDHanson.

When the Cowboys first learned they were slated to play the Bills in Buffalo this season, it was immediately clear the final details of the match-up would matter significantly. Playing in one of the northernmost outdoor stadiums in the league, a Buffalo game in September would look wildly different than a Buffalo game in December.

Buffalo just happens to be the snowiest city in the NFL and a late season meet-up with America’s Team might be too good for NFL schedule makers to pass up. So it was really no surprise when the 2023 schedule was released the Cowboys had a date with destiny, taking on one of the AFC’s most elite teams, in their snowiest month of the year.

For the first time in eight years the Cowboys will travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills. And wouldn’t you know it, eight years ago the Cowboys played the Bills in December as well. The temperatures that day were just above freezing, with rain in the morning but mostly clear skies throughout the contest. Schedule makers didn’t get their dream of seeing the Cowboys in the snow that day and according to forecasts, they won’t get that wish in 2023 either.

While the likelihood of precipitation is now high, the temperatures all but guarantee there will be no meeting with Jack Frost in Week 15. Weather can be a nasty equalizer in football and when you’re the better team, the weather is something you want to avoid. Teams like Dallas who thrive on fast surfaces and neutral weather conditions usually don’t respond well to sub-zero weather and everything that comes with it (i.e. sleet, snow, frozen ground). It appears the Cowboys dodged a major bullet this go-around.

With now a high chance of rain throughout the day, with forecasts calling for 90% in the area and around a quarter of an inch total, Dak Prescott and his guys will still have to contend with poor weather.  Temperatures in the mid-40s mean the field will remain unfrozen. More importantly, it keeps both sleet and snow off the table. It’s a big win for a Buffalo game scheduled in the middle of December, even if the ball will be slicker than normal.

Games that matter for 49ers during bye week

Games that matter for the #49ers during their bye week:

The 49ers aren’t in action in Week 9, but there are a handful of games that’ll matter for a club that’s now fighting for its playoff life after holding onto the No. 1 seed in the conference just three weeks ago.

San Francisco heads into Week 9 as the No. 6 seed in the conference and in need of some help to climb back toward the top. They can’t help themselves over the bye, but they can certainly get some help.

Here are the games that matter for the 49ers on Sunday:

Here’s who 49ers need to see win on Sunday to help place in standings

Here’s who the #49ers need to see win on Sunday:

The 49ers will have Sunday off as they prepare for a Monday night bout with the Vikings in Minnesota. That means a Sunday full of football where San Francisco’s place in the standings could be helped (or hurt) while they’re not playing.

With the race for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and the race for the NFC West division crown in mind, let’s look at a handful of games that have an effect on the 49ers, and which teams the 49ers should be rooting for in those games:

Predicting wins and losses for the Ravens final 11 games

Now that we’ve had a six game sample, we’re predicting the Baltimore #Ravens wins and losses for the final 12 games of the 2023 NFL seasson

The Ravens are 4-2, and if the postseason started today, Baltimore would be the No. 3 overall seed in the AFC, and they’d host a playoff game.

John Harbaugh’s team will play six more games before a late season, Week 13 bye, and they could be one of the NFL’s hottest teams down the stretch.

Now that we’ve had a six game sample size, we’re updating our season predictions of wins and losses for Baltimore’s final 11 games.

Commanders game-by-game predictions for 2023 NFL season

We predict each game for the Commanders one last time before the season.

When the NFL schedule was released in May, we took our best shot at predicting the Washington Commanders record for 2023. Ultimately, we arrived at an 8-9 record for the Commanders.

Now that we’ve had a few months to reassess the 2023 season, after OTAs, training camp and the preseason, would we still predict the same record for Washington?

Not a lot has changed for the Commanders, but we’ve had some time to see new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s offense and also how quarterback Sam Howell operates in that offense.

Before the Commanders begin the regular season, here are our final game-by-game predictions for the 2023 season:

Every season-opening game for Chargers since 2011

Here’s a look at every opening week game for the Chargers since 2011.

After a massive collapse in the 2022 playoffs to the Jaguars, the Chargers are more motivated than ever to put that to bed and make it a deeper run this season. It all starts in Week 1, as Los Angeles hosts the Dolphins this Sunday.

How have the Bolts fared in season openers? Here’s a look at every opening week game for them since 2011:

Best player from each team on Chargers’ 2023 schedule

Here is the best player from the Chargers’ opponents in 2023 who could be the ultimate difference-maker.

The Chargers look to make a deep run after being one-and-done in the playoffs.

The team is equipped with talent from top to bottom and they have the desired depth, but they will face stiff competition that will be looking to hold them back from having success.

Here is the best player from Los Angeles’ opponents in 2023 who could be the ultimate difference-maker.
