Good, bad and ugly from Jags’ loss to Rams

In a week where the Jags sustained another West Coast beatdown, we manage to find a good takeaway. Of course, the bad and ugly wasn’t hard to find, though.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are now guaranteed to have another double-digit loss season under Shad Khan after falling to the Los Angeles Rams Sunday. As many of their games on the West Coast are, it was a beatdown that the team would rather move past as they struggled on offense, defense, and even special teams a little.

Like always, Sunday’s game provided many takeaways for fans to access and here are some good, bad, and ugly ones we garnered after looking back at Week 13’s game:

Jaguars get steamrolled by Rams 37-7: Here are the reactions from Twitter

It was another beatdown for the Jags Week 13 and the Twitter community came in with a flurry of punches to voice their displeasure.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have once again hit double-digit losses after getting steamrolled by the Los Angeles Rams Sunday by a score of 37-7. Heading into the game, the Jags’ struggles on the West Coast were well documented, but fans had hopes that the team would be more competitive than they were.

While the losses are nothing new for Jacksonville this season, the Jags Twitter community still let their frustrations with the team be known, especially when it came to the issues related to the coaching staff. Here are just a few tweets that sum up how the fanbase and those surrounding the team felt after watching the team take one of the worse losses of Week 13:

Jaguars inactives for Week 13 game vs. Rams

#Jaguars RB James Robinson will play Sunday, but DL DaVon Hamilton was a surprise on the inactives list who will sit vs. L.A.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have named their group of five inactive players for Week 13’s game against Los Angeles, and running back James Robinson wasn’t among them. However, one surprise that was on the list was starting defensive lineman DaVon Hamilton.

Hamilton wasn’t in the status column of the final injury report, but didn’t practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury. He was also limited Friday and it appears he suffered a setback prior to the game.

The Jags activated defensive tackle Jay Tufele to the active roster on Saturday, who had previously been designated to return from the injured reserve with a hand injury. It appears the reason for his activation was due to Hamilton’s situation and the team could now potentially give him snaps at nose tackle, or have him play defensive end while Malcom Brown plays nose tackle.

Of course, the other expected notable on the inactives list was cornerback Shaquill Griffin (concussion), who was ruled OUT Friday. While he was limited on Friday when the final report came out, he didn’t participate in the previous two practices or the practice sessions for last week.

As for the Rams, they didn’t have running back Darrell Henderson or receiver Odell Beckham listed among their inactive players after both were ruled questionable on Friday. However, their full list of inactive is as follows:

Rapoport, Schefter provide updates on the status of Jags RB James Robinson vs. Rams

The arrow seems to be pointing up for James Robinson’s chances to play against the Rams.

Their were concerns about the Jacksonville Jaguars being without their No. 1 running back in James Robinson Sunday against Los Angeles as the second-year player was ruled questionable with heel and knee injuries on the final injury report Friday. However, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, there is a “realistic” chance for Robinson to suit up.

According to the sources of Rapoport, the assumption was that Robinson wouldn’t play, but he’s now feeling better than he previously did. As a result, the Jags will give him a look in a pre-game workout as they did against Indianapolis a few weeks back.

The Jags will be up against a defense with stars like defensive tackle Aaron Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey, so any help they could get from Robinson would be welcomed. However, it’s a chance rushing yards won’t be easy to come by as the Rams defense is ninth against the rush, allowing a 104 yard average per game.

Robinson’s heel injury was sustained against the Seattle Seahawks Week 8. He missed Week 9’s game against Buffalo, but played Week 10 against the Colts. During that game, he also sustained a knee injury, but it wasn’t one that sidelined him the following weeks despite it being documented on the injury report.

Robinson currently has 654 rushing yards and seven touchdowns to his name this season. His rushing touchdown total leads the team by far with Trevor Lawrence behind him with two.

Update: Adam Schefter is reporting that Robinson plans to play, so it’ looks like the Jags could be expecting him to look at least good in the pre-game workout. Regardless, both reports are positive towards Robinson’s chances to play.

Jaguars vs. Rams 2021 live stream: Time, TV schedule, how to watch online

Here’s all the viewing information for Sunday’s game between the Jags and the Rams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking to end a three-game losing streak this Sunday, but will have to do so against arguably the most talented team on their schedule. That team, of course, is the Los Angeles Rams, who also have found themselves trying to end a three-game losing streak.

When looking at both teams, they both have some hurdles to clear in terms of injuries as the Rams ruled running back Darrell Henderson, offensive lineman Rob Havenstein, and receiver Odell Beckham questionable. That’s concerning for an offense that’s already struggling to get in sync and will be playing a Jags defense that has shown up against some respectable teams.

As for the Jags, they will be without their top cornerback in Shaquill Griffin, who is still trying to return from a Week 11 concussion. They also ruled their top offensive player, James Robinson, questionable with heel and knee injuries. With the Jags already limited on weapons, the absence of Robinson could make it hard for the offense to get going and that could lead to another unwanted blowout on the West Coast.

Jacksonville’s best chance to win would be with Robinson obviously. However, even if he can play, they will need some others to step up on the offensive side (like Marvin Jones or James O’Shaughnessy perhaps) to help rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. They will also need a lights-out performance from their defense and an off day by Stafford. If all of those things can happen, they may be in position to pull off the upset when the clock hits 0:00.

Behind Enemy Lines: Week 13 Q&A with Rams Wire

With the Rams currently on a three-game skid like the Jags, we sat down with @TheRamsWire’s @camdasilva to find out what’s going on in L.A.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will head to the West Coast Week 13 once again in search of their first true road win of 2021. This week, they face a super talented Los Angeles Rams team that is trying to also end a three-game losing streak, but is favorited by a 12.5-point margin.

With the game over 24 hours away, we sat down with Rams Wire editor Cameron DaSilva to discuss the Rams and their current status. Here are four questions he was able to answer for us in the process:

Jaguars Week 13 final injury report: Griffin ruled OUT, Robinson ruled questionable vs. Rams

The Jags only had two players to surface in the status column of Week 13’s final injury report, but it’s two key contributors.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had two players surface in the status column of their final injury report for Week 13. As expected, one of those players was cornerback Shaquill Griffin (concussion) and the other was running back James Robinson (heel, knee).

The former was ruled OUT for the second consecutive week, while the latter was ruled questionable. However, the good news is that both were limited Friday, so it could be a good sign for Robinson’s status on Sunday and Griffin’s for Week 14.

Several other starters were upgraded on the injury report, too. Linebackers Myles Jack (knee) and Damien Wilson (ankle), and cornerback Tyson Campbell (shoulder) were all upgraded to full participation. Additionally, defensive linemen DaVon Hamilton (knee) and Malcom Brown (toe) were also upgraded to limited participation after not practicing on Thursday.

As for the Los Angeles Rams’ injury report, there were several notable from offense on it. Offensive lineman Rob Havenstein (foot) was a late addition and didn’t practice Friday. Meanwhile, running back Darrell Henderson (thigh) and receiver Odell Beckham (hip) were limited on Friday. All three aforementioned players were ruled questionable on the final injury report and more can be found on their situations on the Rams Wire.

Podcast: Top takeaways from Jags loss to Falcons, previewing Rams with LAFB Network

Episode 98 of “Bleav in the Jags” was action packed as we discussed the lack of help Trevor Lawrence is receiving on offense and the improved play of Tyson Campbell. We also talked Rams with @bigchaunc64.

Another regular season game is in the books for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and unfortunately, the team added another one to the loss column Sunday after falling to the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 21-14.

In this week’s episode of “Bleav in the Jags” Jags Wire’s James Johnson and Phil Smith discussed their two top takeaways from Sunday’s loss to the Falcons, who moved the Jags to a 2-9 record. On offense, the top takeaway was the noticeable lack of talent around quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Then on defense, the two discussed how much rookie cornerback Tyson Campbell has improved over the last few weeks.

Afterward, as always, James and Phil previewed the Jags’ Week 13 opponents in the Los Angeles Rams. To do that, they were joined by Chauncey Telese of the LAFB Network, who discussed Jalen Ramsey’s tenure with the Rams so far, the cause to the Rams’ three-game skid, their additions of Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr., and much more.

Former Jags CB Jalen Ramsey says he’s ‘grateful’ for his time and experience in Jacksonville

When asked about the Jags, Jalen Ramsey had nothing negative to say about the organization and said he was “grateful” for his experience in Duval.

One of the biggest storylines surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams will involve cornerback Jalen Ramsey playing the team that drafted him for the first time. As many are aware, the team traded the All-Pro to Los Angeles two seasons ago in October of 2019, and since, he’s continued to be an elite player for the NFL.

The relationship dod not end on great terms, and many believe it’s something Ramsey will use as fuel in Sunday’s game. However, on Thursday, that didn’t seem to be the case as he told the media that he was thankful for the time he spent in Duval as it kickstarted his career in the NFL.

“It was part of my journey,” Ramsey said, according to the Associated Press. “I’m grateful for my time there, but I’m happy to be here.”

It goes without saying that all players face adversity at some point in their career, and that was partly the case for Ramsey in Jacksonville. However, it’s something that ultimately made him stronger and he acknowledged that Thursday.

“I don’t like to compare Jacksonville to here,” Ramsey said. “I’m genuinely grateful for my time there and my whole experience. It was a part of my life that I needed, that I appreciated.”

While with the Jags, it wasn’t all bad for Ramsey as he became an All-Pro in just his second season. He also was a key part of a memorable Jacksonville defense that led the Jags to the playoffs and almost got a victory over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship.

However, friction developed between him in the front office dating back to when Tom Coughlin rejoined the team, and the relationship never saw improvement. As a result, what was once an elite group deteriorated, and the rest is history.

Now, the Jags look significantly different than they once did, and for that reason, Ramsey doesn’t feel like Sunday’s game will be all that big of a deal for him.

“This isn’t really about me playing Jacksonville,” Ramsey said. “It’s another game, right? I don’t even really much know people there no more. They’ve got a whole new damn near organization. I only know probably like five people on the team, and I don’t even really be talking to them like that. I only talk to maybe two of them.”

Only time will tell if Ramsey truly views Sunday’s game as a revenge game or not as players often don’t reveal their true feelings about playing their old teams until after the game. Then again, he genuinely could be over the Jags, and the efforts he puts forward this upcoming Sunday could more so be about trying to end the Rams’ current three-game skid more than anything.
