Jaguars get blown out by 49ers: Here are the reactions from Twitter

The Jags’ Week 11 game against the Niners was another painful one to watch and fans took to Twitter to express that.

The Jacksonville Jaguars found themselves in the losing column Week 11 after being blown out by the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 30-10.

The win marks the 49ers first in Jacksonville and keeps them in the playoff hunt with a 5-5 record. However, the Jaguars fell to 2-8 on the season with a near-zero chance of any postseason plans. The loss marks another losing streak for the Jags as they lost their second consecutive game after falling to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10 by the score of 23-17.

The Cardiac Cats couldn’t build up any meaningful offense as they had only 200 yards of total offense in the entire game with a paltry 4.5 yards per play. Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence also failed to throw for 200 yards or throw a passing touchdown for the third straight game.

Jaguars fans clearly were not pleased with the team’s 30-10 losing effort against the Niners and here are the reactions from Twitter that summed up the day:

Jaguars inactives for Week 11 game vs. 49ers

There were no big surprises this week in terms of the Jags’ inactives. However, the Niners will be without RBs Elijah Mitchell and JaMycal Hasty.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have named five players to their inactives list for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. This week, there were no surprises, though the Niners, as expected, will be without running backs Elijah Mitchell and JaMycal Hasty.

Of the Jags inactives, only one player was on Week 11’s injury report and that was backup linebacker Dakota Allen. He injured his shoulder against the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday and exited the game as a result. The staff then ruled him questionable to return.

Allen didn’t practice on Wednesday, but was limited on Thursday and Friday. With him out this week, Chapelle Russell is the player listed on the unofficial depth chart behind him.

Allen has played in nine games this season as a backup for the Jags and also started in one game (against the Miami Dolphins). Aside from that, he’s mostly taken snaps on the special teams units and currently has nine combined tackles to his name.

3 bold predictions for Jags’ Week 11 matchup vs. 49ers

The Jags have the opportunity to upset a talented 49ers team that has some momentum at the moment. Here are three bold predictions that would help them achieve that.

After an away game against the Indianapolis Colts where they fell short of a comeback win, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play host to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at TIAA Bank Field. In the process, they will also have to deal with being the underdogs as the Niners acquired a big win over a Los Angeles Rams team that many feel is Super Bowl-bound.

However, as we’ve seen in the past, this Jags team can never be overlooked as they’ve challenged some solid teams and even knocked off a team many thought would be in the AFC Championship. If their offense can show up against the Niners, this could also be one they make closer than expected or maybe even win.

Needless to say, if the right players step up the Jags have a chance, and here are some bold predictions that involve a few notables on the team who could help the Jags acquire win No. 3:

Report: Jags RB James Robinson expected to play vs. 49ers

The Jags are expected to have their top offensive weapon against the Niners, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense will be looking for a spark Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, and in the process of finding it, they should at least have their best weapon.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, running back James Robinson is expected to play Sunday after surfacing on the final injury report as questionable with heel and knee injuries. The news comes as he was able to practice as a limited participant Friday, though it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll start (like last week).

Robinson has been dealing with his heel injury since Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks after he was pushed out of bounds and took an awkward step as a result of trying to stop his momentum. As for the knee injury, it was one he sustained last week against Indianapolis, though he wasn’t taken out of the game.

While he only had 12 carries for 57 yards, Robinson was one of the Jags’ biggest sources of offense last week. He averaged 4.75 yards in the process and also was able to find the end zone in the second half.

This week, Robinson will be up against a tough Niners defense that ranks eighth overall. However, his impact could still be significant as they are 22nd against the rush.

Poll: Can the Jags earn another victory over the 49ers Sunday?

Do you all think the #Jaguars will make it victory No. 3 Sunday?

Dating back to their trip to London, the Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-2 and can make that figure a winning record if they can win Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. And while they are underdogs by 6.5-points, another thing going in their favor is that they’ve won all their games as a home team when looking at the aforementioned four-game stretch.

If the Jags earn a win on Sunday, it won’t come easy despite the Niners’ record of 4-5. The group will be coming off an impressive performance that was watched nationally Monday as they shut down a Los Angeles Rams team that many feels will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl by a score of 31-10.

When looking at the talent on their roster, one could see why the Niners were successful against the Rams Sunday and the Jags will have their hands full when looking at their roster. They have a few All-Pros on offense in left tackle Trent Williams and George Kittle, who most would say are top-3 players at their positions. Additionally, they have a young ascending receiver in Deebo Samuel who is versatile as they come and can do damage from the slot, perimeter, or backfield.

Then on defense, the Niners have some young ascending players who also are Pro Bowlers or have Pro Bowl skills. Those notables are players like defensive end Nick Bosa, linebacker Fred Warner, safety Jimmie Ward, and defensive lineman Arik Armstead. All are key reasons why the Niners’  defense is sixth against the pass and are ninth in overall defense currently, which could lead to a difficult day for rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Co.

As for the Jags, a key reason for the success they’ve had over the last few weeks is their defense and the group has seen improvements up front and on the back end. Players like Josh Allen and Dawuane Smoot have done a good job pressuring the quarterback as the help in the interior from players like Roy Robertson-Harris and DaVon Hamilton has been better. As for the secondary, the decision to make Rudy Ford the starting nickel has been tremendous. That said, if the Jags are to win Sunday, this group will have to play a huge role in it.

As for the Jags’ offense, the unit has struggled since after the bye week and will be looking to find its footing. A key to that could be the status of running back James Robinson, but if he doesn’t play, a combination of Dan Arnold, Jamal Agnew, Marvin Jones, Laviska Shenault, and Carlos Hyde will have to lead this team. If they can put a few touchdowns on the board and the defense can help them with a few key turnovers, the Jags can turn in their third upset of the season.

Now, we would like to hear from you all at home. Do you believe the Jags will earn victory No. 3 Sunday against a Niners team coming in on short rest from across the country? Let us know in the poll below.

Jaguars final Week 11 injury report: RB James Robinson listed as questionable, LB Dakota Allen ruled OUT

#Jaguars RB James Robinson has been ruled questionable for the second consecutive week.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had two players surface in the status column of the final injury report for their Weak 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers. Those players were running back James Robinson (heel/knee) and linebacker Dakota Allen (shoulder).

Robinson who was limited on Thursday and Friday, was ruled questionable and Jags coach Urban Meyer told the media that he would be day-to-day heading into the game as he was last week. Robinson has been dealing with a heel injury since taking the field against Seattle Week 8, but the knee injury is one he sustained this past Sunday against Indianapolis, though it didn’t take him out of the game.

Allen also was limited on Thursday and Friday. Additionally, he sustained his injury against the Colts just as Robinson did and was ruled questionable to return as a result.

As for the Niners, two of their top running backs surfaced on the injury report. Those players were Elijah Mitchell (rib, finger) and JaMychal Hasty (ankle). The latter was rued out while the former is doubtful, which means the Niners will now turn to Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie Trey Sermon to hold it down in the backfield.

49ers defensive lineman Maurice Hurst was also ruled out for Sunday’s game, which will leave them without a veteran depth piece on the defensive line.

Jags Week 11 injury report: RB James Robinson upgraded to limited participation Thursday

Jags RB James Robinson appears to be trending in the right way in terms of his status for Week 11’s game and was able to participate in practice Thursday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had several changes occur on their injury report and the most notable was the status of running back James Robinson (heel/knee). After not participating in practice Wednesday, he was able to do so as a limited participant on Thursday.

The other injury-related change to the injury report was the status of backup linebacker Dakota Allen (shoulder), who was upgraded to limited participation after missing Wednesday’s practice. That marks good news for the young linebacker who left Sunday’s game in Indy as a result of his injury and was ruled questionable to return.

Veteran defensive lineman Malcom Brown was an addition to the injury report Thursday, but it was to rest after coming off arguably his best game of the season Sunday where he accumulated six total tackles.

Safety Rayshawn Jenkins (illness), punter Logan Cooke (left knee), running back Carlos Hyde (shoulder), linebacker Myles Jack (knee), and pass-rusher Jordan Smith (illness) all didn’t see a change in status. Of course, the most notable name to watch is Jack as he missed his second day of practice and is one of the defense’s leaders. However, it’s worth noting that he didn’t practice until Friday of last week, but still took the field against the Colts.

Jags listed as 6.5-point underdogs at home vs. 49ers

The Jags’ streak as weekly underdogs continues into Week 11 as the 49ers are coming to town as 6.5-point favorites.

The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t been favorited by oddsmakers since their Week 1 meeting against the Houston Texans and that will remain the case this week. According to Tipico Sports Book, they are currently 6.5 point underdogs to the San Francisco 49ers, who will be making the trip across the country after stunning the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.

With a win at home against the Rams, the Niners improved their record to 4-5, giving them plenty of motivation to make it two in a row and hit the .500 mark. Meanwhile, the Jaguars will be coming off a heartbreaking loss in Indy where they moved to a 2-7 record.

Sunday’s game will mark the first meeting between the Niners and Jags since 2017 when the Jags went to the AFC Championship. However, this time around, it’s Kyle Shanahan and his crew that are the much more talented bunch.

Despite that, Week 11’s game is one that some fans of the Niners feel has trap game potential as the Jags have played some teams close that outweigh them when it comes to talent. Additionally, the Niners will have to handle their business on a short week of practice and a cross-country trip.

Regardless of what happens, it appears Sunday’s game could be a low-scoring one if Jacksonville’s defense continues to improve on a week-to-week basis after the bye. Both teams could also look to establish the run against one another as both will roll into the game with top-13 rushing attacks led by James Robinson and Elijah Mitchell.

Jags Week 11 injury report: RB James Robinson, LB Myles Jack miss practice Wednesday

Just as they did last week, LB Myles Jack and RB James Robinson started this week as non-participants in practice.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had four players who didn’t practice and linebacker Myles Jack (knee) and running back James Robinson (heel/knee) was among them. However, much like last week, their initial situations may not hold them out of Week 11’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Joining Jack and Robinson as non-participants in practice was pass-rusher Jordan Smith (illness) and linebacker Dakota Allen (shoulder). Of the two, Allen was one that many somewhat expected to see on the injury report after exiting Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts early.

Aside from those players, there were three others on the injury report, two of whom were limited in punter Logan Cooke (left knee) and running back Carlos Hyde (shoulder). The other player on the injury report was starting safety Rayshawn Jenkins (illness), who was a full participant.

As for the 49ers, notables Trent Williams (rest), Elijah Mitchell (ribs, finger), and Maurice Hurst (calf) all didn’t practice. Also, cornerback Josh Norman (rib) and receiver Deebo Samuel (shin) were among three players who were limited.

Jags release inactives list for Week 11 game vs. Steelers

With starting cornerback C.J. Henderson going on injured reserve this week, the availability of Sidney Jones IV was a big topic for the Jacksonville Jaguars heading into Week 11’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately, we now know he won’t suit up for the game as he was listed among the Jags’ seven inactives for the week.

Jones was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, but didn’t practice on Friday with an Achilles injury. As a result, he was listed as questionable on the final injury report, concerning many that he wouldn’t be able to suit up.

With Jones now out, the Jags will start Tre Herndon and rookie Chris Claybrooks Sunday and both will be tasked with covering the dynamic duo of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool. Both players combine for over 1,000 yards on the season, which could mean the Jags’ passing defense (ranked 30th) is in big trouble.

Other notables who surfaced on the inactives list included quarterback Gardner Minshew II, receiver Laviska Shenault Jr., tight end James O’Shaughnessy, and linebacker Quincy Williams. Minshew wasn’t expected to return from his thumb injury yet, although he was listed as questionable. However, Shenault and O’Shaughnessy were ruled out on Friday.
