Colorado Rapids vs. Nashville SC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Nashville SC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (5 wins, 5 losses, 3 draws) welcome Nashville SC (5-4-4) to DSG Park Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. Nashville SC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Rapids have been among the best home teams in the MLS with 5 wins and 2 draws in their 7 matches at DSG Park. Colorado has traded off home wins and road losses over its last 5 contests and is coming off a 1-0 home win against Seattle.

Colorado sits 9th in the Western Conference and is tied for the second-fewest goals allowed in the conference, having given up just 14. It is led in scoring by 29-year-old F Diego Rubio who has 6 goals.

Nashville has maintained a high level of success even with switching to arguably the more challenging conference. It sits 6th in the West, having scored 15 and allowed as many.

It’s been decent with a 3-4-2 record on the road. Nashville is led by M Hany Mukhtar and F C.J. Sapong, both of whom have 4 goals and 3 assists on the season.

Prediction

Colorado 1, Nashville 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN DRAW (+230).

Colorado has been solid at home, but it hasn’t been completely invincible.

The Rapids are 1-0-2 when taking on teams in current playoff position, which Nashville is. Nashville has 4 draws in 13 games, 2 of which have come on the road.

Nashville has a high-quality leader in each position group with D Walker Zimmerman on its backline. It has allowed more than 1 goal in just 5 games. The Rapids play a similar slow-pace style. They’ve allowed 3 total goals in their last 6 games.

Neither team is an attack-heavy side, and I believe that’ll translate into this game. Nashville is the better side, but Colorado is at home. I’ll put a small unit on DRAW (+230).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-145).

This is a tad expensive for what I typically like giving out in terms of a full-unit bet, but this is the far superior bet. As noted, neither team is an attack-heavy side.

Nashville and Colorado have both scored 15 goals in 13 games. That’s tied for the 6th-fewest goals scored in the Western Conference.

Their defense picks up the slack though with Nashville, who is led by a young star in Zimmerman, having given up 15 which compares to Colorado’s mere 14 allowed.

Colorado has gone under 2.5 in 5 of its last 6 contests while Nashville has gone under 2.5 in 4 of its last 6.

Nashville SC at Chicago Fire odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Nashville SC at Chicago Fire odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

On a sports-filled Sunday, Nashville SC (11 wins, 3 losses, 11 draws) visits the Chicago Fire SC (6-15-5). The match is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET at Soldier Field. Below, we preview Nashville SC vs. Chicago Fire odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Coming off a Wednesday 5-1 thrashing of Inter Miami, Nashville stays on the road and travels north. Chicago has been a notoriously difficult place to come away with three points.

However, Nashville is surging, having won four of its last five matches. Chicago is the opposite of on fire right now and has lost four straight and six of its last seven.

Fourteen points outside of playoff contention, Chicago is playing more for pride in this game than postseason potential. As for Nashville, a win here could be crucial in holding down the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Prediction

Nashville 2, Chicago 2

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to the DRAW (+240) as it’s Nashville’s specialty. The visitors have the most draws in the conference and are even the only Eastern club in double-figure ties. It’s more than just Nashville’s season history though.

Nashville has been bad away from Nissan Stadium. It has played the bulk of its games at home, and now finishes up the season on the road where it may struggle to keep their same pace.

Nashville has yet to lose at home but has lost or drawn 8 of 11 road matches. Chicago has looked competent while at home and has won or drawn 9 of 14 matches.

Considering Chicago’s strengths at Soldier Field and Nashville’s struggles away from Music City, I’d bet this game is closer than the ranking on the table suggests.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (-120) as the best value in this match.

Nashville has one of the best attacks in MLS led by M Hany Mukhtar. Mukhtar has 12 of Nashville’s 44 goals through 25 games. Nashville averages the second-most goals per game in the East.

The Nashville defense is also less than stellar with 24 goals allowed. Chicago’s defense is one of the worst, yet the offense has averaged better than a goal per game.

If both averages come true, we’d be looking at almost a 2-1 finish. Given that Chicago has scored 20 goals in 14 home matches, it should come out strong.

This could certainly be a goal-heavy match with the Over 2.5 as the best value.

D.C. United at Nashville SC odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s D.C. United at Nashville SC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

In one of four MLS games Sunday, D.C. United (8 wins, 7 losses, 3 draws) travel south to take on Nashville SC (6-2-10) at Nissan Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the D.C. United vs. Nashville SC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Coming into this match with the most ties in MLS, Nashville has played the majority of its games at home and is yet to lose at Nissan Stadium. However, Nashville has yet to win on the road as well.

Nashville is coming off a 2-1 road loss to Inter Miami CF Aug. 8 while D.C. United is surging.

United took down CF and the Columbus Crew in their last two games and are unbeaten across their last five games, having climbed the table all the way to sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Prediction

Nashville SC 2, D.C. United 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” on NASHVILLE SC (+115) as it’s just a different team at home and has won six of 11 matches at Nissan Stadium. Along those lines, United has lost five of 10 matches on the road.

Twenty-six-year-old MF Hany Mukhtar has been the star of the season for Nashville SC. Even without D Walker Zimmerman, Nashville should be fine as United may be without up to six players.

Nashville has been dominant at home, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them come out on top again. Without its top defender, put just half a unit on Nashville.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (+120) as both these teams have a balanced scoring attack. As Nashville is without its All-Star defender, expect United to get on the board at least once.

However, Nashville’s attack should be able to carry it to victory. Nashville scored 26 goals in 18 matches. United has scored 27 goals in 18 matches. These two teams have lethal attacking players.

Nashville hit the Over in four of its last seven matches while United played to the Over in six of their last eight. Expect at least 3 goals to be netted Sunday.
