Check out all the best highlights from Najee Harris’ impressive rookie season for the Pittsburgh Steelers

Taking a running back in the first round of the NFL draft has become rare and risky business, but after one season, the Pittsburgh Steelers appear to have nailed their selection in last year’s first round.

After an impressive career at Alabama, Najee Harris hit the ground running at the pro level, rushing for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns, while proving to be just as dangerous as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.

The No. 24 overall pick quickly became the engine that powered the Steelers offense, and that’s likely to continue in 2022.

Najee Harris shows off pass-catching prowess vs. Bengals

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris caught 14 passes in Sunday’s Week 3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals

Every NFL team would love to have a running back with the three-down skill set and rare combination of size and athleticism that Najee Harris brings to the table.

That’s why the Pittsburgh Steelers made him the No. 24 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, and he’s already showing off the same pass-catching skills he displayed throughout his time at Alabama.

Despite a loss Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals, Harris led both teams with a whopping 14 receptions for 104 yards, to go along with his 40 yards on the ground.

Harris is big and physical, but he’s got all the skills to be a reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield, especially for an aging quarterback who is struggling to get the ball down the field.

Alabama’s top prospects shine in blowout win vs. Auburn

Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith and Najee’ Harris led the way for Alabama in a dominant Iron Bowl win over Auburn

The Iron Bowl is always one of the most hard-fought rivalry games in college football every year, but this year’s edition wasn’t competitive for very long, as Alabama dominated Auburn in a 42-13 blowout.

The Crimson Tide was led by their big-name prospects, as quarterback Mac Jones became just the second quarterback in school history to toss five touchdown passes in the Iron Bowl, joining Tua Tagovailoa. DeVonta Smith was once again his favorite target, hauling in seven passes for a whopping 171 yards and two touchdowns, averaging nearly 25 yards per catch. Najee’ Harris racked up 130 total yards on just 13 touches, including a 39-yard touchdown run.

Jones is likely headed for Day 2 consideration in the 2021 NFL draft, while Smith and Harris are potential first-round prospects.
