For the first time in 14 years, Michigan State hockey has open the season with a series sweep.
The Spartans picked up a two-game series sweep of Lake Superior State this past weekend to get the 2023-24 season going on the right foot. Michigan State earned a 5-2 victory in Saturday’s season opener and followed that up with a 4-2 victory on Sunday.
Michigan State will return to the ice next week in a two-game series at Air Force.
