WATCH: Chiefs TE Jody Fortson mic’d up during preseason finale

#Chiefs TE Jody Fortson had the mic during the preseason finale against the #Vikings — and he was feeling alive!

Kansas City Chiefs TE Jody Fortson was the latest player to be mic’d up during the preseason, giving fans an inside look at what one of their favorite players is like on the field.

“There’s just something about this red that makes me feel alive,” Fortson declared to Noah Gray during warmups. “Don’t you feel alive? Alive baby!”

Fortson certainly falls under the “energy giver” category, boasting an infectious energy throughout the game. Even when he was on the sidelines you could see and hear him cheering his teammates on.

You get a chance to see his excitement for his teammates on the field too. Fortson participated in Blake Bell’s touchdown celebration, spiking the ball and screaming his full head off in the process.

“I didn’t know you had a left spike like that,” Chiefs TE Travis Kelce told Fortson on the sidelines. “Go ahead and get in there too.”

Despite Kelce’s encouragement, Fortson wouldn’t end up in end zone this week. He did, however, make a killer play on special teams. He also had a key block on Gore’s touchdown run, a catch late to help ice the game and he continued to support his teammates when they scored.

Watch: Falcons CB A.J. Terrell mic’d up at practice

Entering his second year, the former Clemson standout will lead a completely revamped Falcons secondary.

The tough thing about being an NFL cornerback is that when you do your job well, nobody talks about you. Atlanta Falcons CB A.J. Terrell was thrown into the fire as a rookie in 2020, and despite some rough patches, he’s managed to quiet a lot of the criticism the team received when drafting him 16th overall.

Entering his second year, the former Clemson standout will lead a completely revamped Falcons secondary as it transitions to Dean Pees’ defensive scheme. It won’t be easy, but Terrell has yet to back down from a challenge.

Check out the new mic’d up segment featuring Terrell, as shared by the team’s Twitter account below.

Watch: Falcons head coach Arthur Smith mic’d up at training camp

Among the highlights in his new mic’d up segment, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith rips his players for celebrating after a two-yard gain.

Falcons head coach Arthur Smith was one of the NFL’s most sought after coaching candidates during the 2021 offseason, but aside from watching the Titans’ offense run over the league, fans knew little about his demeanor on the sideline.

Thus far at training camp, it’s clear that Smith has good relationships with his players. However, he’s more of a disciplinarian than his predecessor, Dan Quinn. Atlanta’s practices have been intense as Smith knows the kind of work that needs to be done in order for this team to get back to the playoffs following a three-year drought.

Smith was wired for sound at a recent practice and you can see the two sides of his personality shining through. Among the highlights in his new mic’d up segment, Smith rips his players for excessive celebration after a two-yard gain.

WATCH: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes mic’d up at training camp

#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was the latest player to get the mic at training camp and he had entirely too much fun.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was the latest player to be mic’d up at training camp. As it turns out, he’s an absolute goofball on the practice field.

The video starts out with Mahomes picking up WR Tyreek Hill and posing for a photo. As he set him down, he realized just how heavy he was.

“That boy heavy,” Mahomes said. “That boy dense.”

Afterward, we get a close-up of Mahomes’ secret handshakes with his offensive linemen. That includes the best one of the bunch with Nick Allegretti, which mimics shotgunning beers.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce prompts Mahomes to try and prank some of the staff members. Mahomes went up to the Director of Equipment, Allen Wright and asked him: “Do you know where the um . . . is?”

He did it again to a trainer on the sideline and her response: “The what?”

Later Mahomes jokes with Khalen Saunders about flopping after getting touched by the third-year defensive tackle. Tyreek Hill also gives a PSA about how much he loves the Chiefs.

It’s pretty remarkable how much fun these guys have together out on the practice field. The ability to get good work done while also having a good time doesn’t happen everywhere. I think it speaks volumes about the type of leader that Mahomes is and the way that Andy Reid runs his training camps.

Watch: Lions coach Dan Campbell mic’d up at training camp

It’s a great look at how Campbell interacts with his players during a Lions practice session

Lions head coach Dan Campbell was mic’d up for a recent practice session at the team’s indoor training facility in Allen Park. It’s a great opportunity to see the new Detroit head coach patrolling the practice field and to get a sense of his coaching style and demeanor.

There are fun moments, including the very start where he sheepishly flashes to an assistant that he’s the Lions rep who is mic’d up for the day. Or where safety Tracy Walker gives him a playful push, Campbell responds, “You touching me? You probably broke your hand”.

Positive reinforcement for players is also a recurring theme, and it’s delivered by Campbell in a sincere way that is such a stark contrast to what has been the status quo in Detroit over the last few years.

Thanks to the Lions for posting it on YouTube, it’s a worthy watch.
