MSU hockey picks up defense commit, Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick

MSU hockey gains the commitment of one of the top defensemen on the market

Michigan State hockey added to their recruiting class today, gaining a massive commitment from one of the top defense prospects in the 2006 birth year.

Matthew Lahey has chosen to commit to the Spartans, wanting to play for Adam Nightingale and his staff. Lahey was a seventh round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

Lahey is a 6-foot-5, 200 pound defenseman currently playing for the Fargo Force in the USHL. He is a native of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
