Russell Wilson among Manningcast guests for Rams/Cards playoff game

Russell Wilson among Manningcast guests for Rams/Cards playoff game

Wild Card weekend is now a three-day affair thanks to the NFL’s insatiable need to dominate the news cycle. Tonight the final game of the round will be played between two of the Seahawks’ division rivals. The No. 5 seed Cardinals are visiting the No. 4 seed Rams with kickoff at 5:15 p.m. Pacific.

The last time these teams met was Week 14 in another Monday Night Football affair, and made for perhaps the most entertaining game of the regular season. If you needed another reason to tune in, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will once again be among the guests for the broadcast on ESPN2 run by former rivals Peyton and Eli Manning. Wilson follows Cardinals great Larry Fitzgerald and Dwayne Johnson.

Wilson was a guest for the first MNF game of the year and got good reviews for his appearance.

We never know where the Manning brothers’ conversation on their show is going to go, but it will be interesting to see if they ask Wilson about his future. He’s under contract for the next two years and the Seahawks say they have no intention of trading him. However, over the weekend NFL Network reported that Wilson wants to “explore his options” this offseason.

As for the matchup, Arizona and LA split their season series with one win each. Tipico Sportsbook has the Rams as 3.5-point favorites.

Peyton and Eli Manning will call alternate broadcast of Rams-Cardinals playoff game on ESPN2

The final ManningCast guests of the 2021 season: Larry Fitzgerald, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Russell Wilson.

The Los Angeles Rams will host the Arizona Cardinals in a “Monday Night Football” showdown to wrap up the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs this evening.

The game will be broadcast in English on both ESPN and ABC with a Spanish broadcast on ESPN Deportes. Fans can also stream the game with fuboTV (free 7-day trial).

For the final time this season, there will also be an alternate “MNF” broadcast featuring brothers Peyton and Eli Manning. The “ManningCast” will air on ESPN2 and will be available to stream on ESPN+ (and fuboTV).

The Mannings will have three guests this week — former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and current Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson was also a guest earlier this season and he was a big hit among fans and pundits.

Monday’s game will also feature Rams outside linebacker Von Miller, who won Super Bowl 50 with Peyton and the Denver Broncos in 2015. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. MT.

The 9 best moments from Peyton and Eli Manning’s ‘MNF’ Week 17, including a hilarious gift to Eli from Snoop Dogg

Another week of Manning goodness.

After a month with no Monday Night ManningCast on MNF, Eli and Peyton were back for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns in Week 17, which included a last-minute touchdown from Najee Harris.

As usual, the Mannings didn’t disappoint.

We got another bunch of great moments from the brothers and their guests — this week it was Bill Cowher, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Snoop Dogg, and Aaron Rodgers, who was tempting the ManningCast Curse with his appearance — so as always, we’re rounding all those clips and highlights in one place.

Here we go, starting with the amazing gift Snoop gave to Eli:

Peyton and Eli Manning will call final ‘Monday Night Football’ game of the season on ESPN2

Roger Goodell, Snoop Dogg and Aaron Rodgers will join Peyton and Eli Manning on ‘Monday Night Football’ this evening.

Peyton and Eli Manning will be back on ESPN2 tonight for an alternate of broadcast of “Monday Night Football” between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, the final “MNF” game of the season.

Steve Levy (play-by-play) and Brian Griese (analyst) and Louis Riddick (analyst) will call the regular broadcast on ESPN’s main channel.

The Mannings will have four big-name guests for their alternate broadcast: Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher in the first quarter, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in the second quarter, rapper Snoop Dogg in the third quarter and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the fourth quarter.

The Browns have already been eliminated from playoff contention, but a postseason berth is still possible for the Steelers, making Monday’s AFC North showdown an intriguing matchup.

In addition to airing on ESPN2, the “ManningCast” will also be available to stream on ESPN+ and on fuboTV (free 7-day trial).

The 8 best moments from Peyton and Eli Manning’s ‘MNF’ Week 13, including Joe Buck zinging Peyton

Another week of television gold.

The Monday Night Football Manning MegaCast — yes, the ManningCast! — was back for a very weird New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills matchup in wintry conditions, with the Pats attempting just three (!!!) passes all night in a 14-10 win.

Luckily, we had Peyton and Eli Manning and some guests — this week, it was Joe Buck, Aqib Talib and David Letterman, no current NFL players though — to entertain us as we watched the weirdness unfold.

That means it’s time yet again to round up some of the best moments we saw from the Mannings and their guests.

Here’s what we saw from Monday’s show:

Joe Buck, who Peyton Manning ribbed on air, is one of the ManningCast guests for Bills-Patriots

MANNINGCAST IS BACK!

The ManningCast, thank goodness, is BACK.

In Week 13, the Monday Night Football alternative broadcast starring Eli and Peyton Manning will be on for the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots matchup, and while the headliner is David Letterman — just three guests this week (no active NFLers again, the curse lives on?) and he’s leading off — there’s also Aqib Talib and FOX Sports’ Joe Buck, who gets to close things out.

Let’s focus on Buck for a minute — Peyton zinged him recently on a ManningCast, something that I hope gets addressed on Monday night. And if it does, it’ll be television gold as usual.

This is going to be a good one, I can feel it.

No Mannings on Seahawks – Washington on ‘MNF’; When do Peyton and Eli come back?

No Manningcast this week!

Sorry to break it to you all, but the Peyton and Eli Manning alternative broadcast on ESPN2 — the Monday Night Football Manning Megacast — won’t be on your television for the Week 12 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Football Team.

Fear not! We’ll be getting more wild moments like what we’ve seen with the Mannings — from inhaling chicken to double birdsand their guests in Week 13, when the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills face off.

After that? No word yet, but let’s just focus on the fact that we’ll get the Manningcast back next week. That’s good news, right?

The 6 best moments from Peyton and Eli Manning’s ‘MNF’ Week 11, including Julian Edelman imitating Gronk

A roundup from the MNF Manning Megacast.

The Monday Night Football Mannings Megacast was back once again, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking down Eli Manning’s former team, the hapless New York Giants, in a Week 10 blowout that was — for the most part — boring.

That said, it’s time yet again to round up some of the best moments we saw from Eli and Peyton and their eclectic guest list — Bills Parcells, Kevin Hart, Condoleezza Rice and Julian Edelman appeared this week (again, no current NFL players appeared, maybe this Manningcast Curse is truly a thing!). There were still some fun things to see even during the blowout.

Here’s what we saw from Monday’s show:

The Mannings have cursed every NFL player to come on their show, so Josh Allen is doomed

It wasn’t worth it, Josh Allen.

Everybody loves the Monday Night Football Manningcast, in which Peyton and Eli Manning simply sit there watching football (and eating chicken) while a camera catches their banter. It reminds us of home, if home included occasional insights from guys who’ve hoisted the Lombardi Trophy a combined four times.

About the only people the show has not worked out for, though, is current NFL players. The Mannings have welcomed five such guests, and each of them has subsequently lost their next game. Two of them, Russell Wilson and Rob Gronkowski, have also missed time due to injury.

This is very real. The numbers prove it.

Hey, Mannings, how about a recurring spot for Tom Brady? Nobody has ever deserved a little bit of bad luck more than that guy.

So, look, here at FTW we’re all about News You Can Use. Let’s spin this forward. On Monday night of Week 8, the Mannings did, indeed, welcome a current NFL player to the show.

No, Josh Allen! Why would you risk undoing whatever magical enchantment you paid somebody to give you prior to last season to make you into a good quarterback? Why!?!?

The 5-2 Bills are absolutely doomed in their game at 1-6 Jacksonville this week. Yes, they play the Jaguars, and yes Urban Meyer is already suffering under the Creepy Old Guy at the Bar Curse, which is quite powerful, and also the Let Me Treat These Professional Players Like They Should Be Thankful I’m Here, which is another one that has waylaid many a better man than Urban. But even these two curses, combined, cannot contend with the Manningcast Curse. They just can’t.

Take all your money and put it on the Jaguars.

Also the acknowledgement of this 100 percent real curse will almost certainly dissuade the Tennessee Titans from signing Jon Stewart to replace Derrick Henry so adjust your fantasy football plans accordingly.

Michael Strahan had the best reaction to Giants throwing short on third down after predicting it on ‘MNF’

“That’s what I’m saying!”

Michael Strahan knows how you feel, New York Giants fans.

In perhaps the most inspired guest for the ManningCast of “Monday Night Football” we’ve seen so far this season, Strahan joined Eli Manning and Peyton Manning for the second quarter between the Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs. Overall, it was another really fun guest spot in what has already become the definitive way to watch football on Monday nights.

Strahan’s best moment came late in the quarter with the Giants driving in the red zone. Before play resumed for third and four with three minutes to go, Strahan lamented to the Manning brothers that he was not a fan of the Giants habit of throwing short of the sticks.

And what do you know? Daniel Jones threw a short pass to Sterling Shepard and the Giants had to settle for a field goal to make it 14-10 at the end of the half. As expected, Strahan was not at all happy with the decision.

Strahan continued to labor home the point as the Giants kicked the field goal after failing to convert in the red zone.

Yeah, that has to sting if you’re a Giants fan. But hey, at least Strahan’s reaction was fun!
