Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

To wrap up Week 3, the Los Angeles Rams (1-1) and Cincinnati Bengals (0-2) will play a Super Bowl LVI rematch in the 2nd game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Kickoff will be at 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rams vs. Bengals odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Rams come into this game after beating the Seattle Seahawks 30-13 and losing to the San Francisco 49ers 30-23. Despite being without WR Cooper Kupp, the Rams enter Week 3 with the 2nd-most yards in the NFL, including the 3rd-most passing yards.

The Bengals have lost their 1st 2 games. They were crushed by the Cleveland Browns 24-3 in Week 1 and then lost a close one to the Baltimore Ravens 27-24. QB Joe Burrow tweaked his calf again in Sunday’s loss to Baltimore, so he’s uncertain for Monday night.

Rams at Bengals picks and predictions

Prediction

Rams 23, Bengals 20

Moneyline

The Rams are underdogs in this one because of Burrow’s uncertain health, but even if he were guaranteed to be playing, I’d still like Los Angeles to pull off the upset. They’ve looked like the better team through two weeks, and that includes a defense that’s full of lesser-known players.

I would BET RAMS (+110) to win outright, but you might be able to get an even better number if Burrow is ruled available.

Against the spread

The Rams are 2-0 ATS, even if that includes a game where they only covered the spread because Sean McVay kicked a meaningless field goal with 4 seconds left against the 49ers. The point is, they’ve been competitive in both games thus far, coming as close to beating San Francisco as any of its 3 opponents this season.

You could double down and get some insurance by taking Rams +2.5, but I would just stick with the moneyline. Or, split the unit with half on the ML and half on the spread.

Over/Under

Even though Los Angeles doesn’t have many proven players on defense outside of Aaron Donald, it’s playing well on that side of the ball so far. The Bengals, on the other hand, have been abysmal on offense, scoring just 27 total points in 2 games with the fewest yards of any team in the NFL. BET UNDER 43.5 (-110), and that number could go up if Burrow plays.

Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The final week of the preseason includes a matchup between the 2  participants in Super Bowl 56 six months ago, the Los Angeles Rams (1-1) and Cincinnati Bengals (0-2). They’ll square off at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Rams vs. Bengals odds, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Rams went 0-3 in the preseason last year, but they come into this game 1-1 after beating the Los Angeles Chargers in the opener 29-22 and losing to the Houston Texans 24-20 in Week 2. Their record should be taken with a grain of salt because they haven’t played any of their starters – nor will they on Saturday against the Bengals.

The Bengals are 0-2 after losing 25-22 to the New York Giants and 36-23 to the Arizona Cardinals. Like the Rams, they’ve taken a cautious approach to the preseason, only playing their backups and protecting their top players from injury. That’ll be the case on Saturday, too, especially after they got in 2 days of practice with the Rams on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rams at Bengals picks and predictions

Prediction

Rams 23, Bengals 20

Money line

Aside from some poor play up front, the Rams offense has actually looked pretty good in the preseason, especially with QB Bryce Perkins under center. QB John Wolford‘s status is unclear after he suffered a thumbnail injury on his right hand, so it could be Perkins getting every snap.

If that’s the case, I like the RAMS (+115) to win outright against the Bengals.

Against the spread

Preseason games have been fairly close this year, and the Rams have played 2 games that were decided by 1 possession. The Bengals were beaten handily by the Giants in Week 2, and while I don’t expect another lopsided game in this one, I do think it’ll be the Rams coming out on top.

Getting 2.5 points, I like the RAMS +2.5 (-103) to cover and at least keep the score close – even if the Bengals wind up winning.

[the_huddle]

Over/Under

The total has gone Over in each of the Rams and Bengals’ first 4 games of the preseason. Even without starters playing in this one, I expect both teams to put up enough points to push the total over the 37.5-point line.

Perkins provides a spark for the Rams and Brandon Allen is a capable quarterback in Cincinnati – even if he isn’t overly aggressive.

Bet the OVER (-115).

2022 Super Bowl: Bank on these 3 players to score a touchdown

Looking at what players could score an anytime touchdown with Super Bowl prop bets, with 2022 Super Bowl odds, picks and predictions.

Super Bowl LVI will feature the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, who will battle for a world championship Sunday at SoFi Stadium with an opening kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Below, we look at Super Bowl prop bets with  NFL picks and predictions, specifically at who are the players to bank on to score an anytime touchdown.

While there is certainly debate as to who will win the Super Bowl, one thing is sure. There will be touchdowns scored. There has been at least one touchdown scored in every Super Bowl.

In my 2022 Super Bowl prediction, I have five touchdowns being scored. Who are the players we can count on to score?

Rams WR Cooper Kupp (-180)

Kupp scored 16 touchdowns in the regular season and added 4 more in three postseason games. He has scored a touchdown in five straight games and in eight of his last nine. He is the surest bet, which is why the payout isn’t great.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (+105)

Mixon scored 13 rushing touchdowns in the regular season and 1 in the postseason. The Rams have only allowed 20 passing touchdowns in 20 games. If the Bengals are going to get in the end zone, it will be on the ground. The Rams allowed 18 rushing touchdowns in the regular season.

Akers has not scored yet since returning from his Achilles injury, but he is taking a larger role in the offense. QB Matthew Stafford scored 2 TDs in the postseason, but I expect Akers to get a goal-line carry Sunday.

Root: Rams defense will prove too much for Bengals in Super Bowl 56

Analyzing Sunday’s Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The final game of the NFL season is Sunday when the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals face off in Super Bowl LVI. Kickoff for the big game is 6:30 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium. Below, we look at the Rams vs. Bengals odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Rams become the second team in consecutive years to play the Super Bowl on their home field. They won the NFC West with a 12-5 record in the regular season and made it to the Super Bowl beating the Arizona Cardinals, the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Bengals won the AFC North with a 10-7 record and took down the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs to make it to their third Super Bowl in franchise history. QB Joe Burrow has thrown 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in his first NFL postseason.

Rams vs. Bengals odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Rams 24, Bengals 17

Money line

The Rams were only 5-3 at home during the regular season but added two wins during the postseasons. Technically they will not be the home team in this game but will be playing in their home stadium.

The Rams defense has allowed only 274.7 yards per game in three postseason contests and 18.3 points. They were devastating against the Cardinals and against Tampa Bay until it seems they let up after a 27-3 lead.

The Bengals have played great defense as well, a good reason why they have made it this far.

But with Los Angeles DT Aaron Donald wrecking things up front and a secondary playing well, able to limit Cincinnati WR Ja’Marr Chase, I think the Rams will control this game.

Take the RAMS (-200).

Against the spread

The Rams went 10-10 ATS this season. The Bengals went 13-7 ATS.

The Bengals have covered the spread in seven straight games.

Now, each of the last eight Super Bowls have been won by 4 or more points, and only one in the last 14 has been decided by fewer points.

So, historically, it comes down to which team you think will win. I think the Rams will be able to stop the Cincinnati offense and keep them under 20 points.

Take the RAMS -3.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Under is 4-0 in the Bengals’ last four games and 6-2 in the last eight.

The Rams allow an average of only 18.3 points per game this postseason and the Bengals have allowed 19.7 points per game in three postseason games.

Take UNDER 48.5 (-110).

2022 Super Bowl: Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals 2022 Super Bowl odds and lines with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets

The longest season in NFL history will officially come to a close in Super Bowl LVI Sunday. The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Cincinnati Bengals to decide which team will hoist the Lombardi Trophy at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m. ET from Inglewood, Calif., with the Bengals officially being the home team despite the game being played at the Rams’ stadium. Below, we look at the Rams vs. Bengals odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Rams were viewed as Super Bowl contenders from the moment they acquired QB Matthew Stafford in a trade with the Detroit Lions last January. Former QB Jared Goff wasn’t taking them where they needed to go, so they made a bold move to trade Goff to the Lions – along with three draft picks – for Stafford. The trade worked to perfection, landing the Rams in the Super Bowl in Stafford’s first season.

During the regular season, he threw 41 touchdowns and, despite co-leading the league in interceptions (17), he posted a passer rating of 102.9, the second-best of his career. Of course, he was helped by WR Cooper Kupp, who led the NFL in receptions (145), yards (1,947) and touchdown catches (16) this season.

The in-season additions of OLB Von Miller and WR Odell Beckham Jr. helped get the Rams to the Super Bowl, as did All-Pro performances from DT Aaron Donald and CB Jalen Ramsey. The Rams allowed 21.9 points per game, ranked third in sacks and only gave up 17 touchdown passes, second-fewest in the league.

See also: 2022 Super Bowl expert picks

On the other side, there are the Bengals, who don’t feature the star-studded roster that the Rams have. Yet, despite lacking big-name players, the Bengals still finished the season 10-7, won the AFC North and beat the Raiders, Titans and Chiefs in the postseason to reach Super Bowl LVI. They won fairly comfortably over the Raiders, but they snuck by the Titans and Chiefs with game-winning field goals by PK Evan McPherson to win each game by three points.

QB Joe Burrow returned from a torn ACL suffered during his rookie season and threw 34 touchdowns with 4,611 yards in 16 games. He won AP Comeback Player of the Year for his remarkable season, but he wasn’t the only award-winner on the Bengals.

WR Ja’Marr Chase won AP Offensive Rookie of the Year after his historic campaign, catching 81 passes for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns, breaking the record for the most receiving yards by a rookie in the Super Bowl era. WR Tee Higgins had 1,091 yards as the No. 2 wideout, while WR Tyler Boyd manned the slot with 828 yards of his own.

Defensively, the Bengals were only middle of the pack. They finished the regular season 17th in points allowed (22.1), but the defense is peaking at the right time. They held the Chiefs to only three points after halftime in the AFC title game and have given up only 59 points in three postseason games.

Rams vs. Bengals odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Rams 27, Bengals 24

Money line

PASS.

When looking at these two teams on paper, the Rams have a clear edge. They have a dominant defensive front compared to the Bengals’ porous offensive line, which allowed 16 pressures against the Chiefs in the AFC title game, according to Pro Football Focus. The Rams’ offensive line should hold up against the Bengals pass rush, too.

Covering Kupp will be a challenge for the likes of CB Mike Hilton and CB Eli Apple, with the same going for Beckham on the other side. Everything is pointing to the Rams in this one, but at -200, I can’t get myself to take Los Angeles.

In games that Burrow started, the Bengals were 5-1 straight up as underdogs of 3 points or more. There’s a chance they pull off another upset Sunday, which is why I’m going to PASS and instead bet on the spread.

Against the spread

CINCINNATI +3.5 (-105) is the way to go.

The line opened at Rams -4.5, which wasn’t terribly surprising given the construction of their roster and with the game being played at their home stadium. Getting 4.5 points with the Bengals was awfully enticing, which has helped drive the line down to 3.5 points.

No Super Bowl favorite has covered a spread of at least 4 points in the last 14 years. In the last six Super Bowls, underdogs of at least 3 points are 5-1 ATS in the last six instances.

Even with the line dropping from 4.5 to 3.5, I still like the BENGALS +3.5 (-105). Incredibly, they’re 7-0 ATS in their last seven games and 9-2 in their last 11. They should be able to keep this one close and cover the 3.5-point margin.

More 2022 Super Bowl coverage

Over/Under

I like the OVER 48.5 (-110), bucking the trend of recent Super Bowls.

The Over/Under has been nothing short of a toss-up in the Super Bowl. In the 54 Super Bowls where the Over/Under was set, it’s an even split at 27-27. In the last six Super Bowls, the Under has hit four times, including each of the last three.

The Rams and Bengals both averaged exactly 27.1 points per game this season, so mathematically, the Under has a slight edge with the total being 48.5 points. Although both teams could get off to a slow start due to the big-game jitters and magnitude of playing in the Super Bowl, these offenses will each find their rhythm.

Turnovers could also lead to short fields and easy points. Stafford led the NFL with 17 interceptions and Burrow threw 14 of his own, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of picks – and maybe even a pick-six.

2022 Super Bowl prop bets: Rams total points

Looking at Los Angeles Rams total points Super Bowl prop bets, with 2022 Super Bowl odds, picks and predictions.

The NFC champion Los Angeles Rams cruised to a 12-5 regular-season record, winning many of their games comfortably, too. They face the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday in Super Bowl 56. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET (on NBC) from SoFi Stadium, the Rams’ home field.

The Rams score an average of 28.0 points per game in three playoff wins to get here. How many will they put on the scoreboard in Sunday’s Super Bowl LVI?

Below, we look at the Rams’ total points Super Bowl prop bet with  NFL picks and predictions.

The Rams won the NFC West by a nose, and have landed a spot in the 2022 Super Bowl by beating (in order) the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers in the postseason.

They finished the regular season seventh in the NFL in scoring, coincidentally tied with the Bengals. Both teams averaged 27.1 points per game, which is a big reason they won their respective divisions and have made deep runs to the Super Bowl.

QB Matthew Stafford lit it up in his first season with the Rams, throwing 41 touchdowns and racking up 4,886 yards through the air. He tossed another 6 TDs this postseason, helping the Rams score an average of 28.0 points per game.

Los Angeles Rams 2022 Super Bowl prop bet

  • Over/Under (O/U): 26.5 (O: -112 | U: 108)

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 4:10 p.m. ET.

The play: OVER 26.5 (-112)

It’s no coincidence that the line is set right around the Rams’ scoring average. They averaged 27 points per game in the regular season and 28 in the playoffs.

The Bengals defense isn’t anything special, ranking 17th during the regular season after allowing 22.1 points per game, but they held the Raiders, Titans and Chiefs in check by giving up a total of 59 points this postseason.

In 12 of their 20 games this season, the Rams scored at least 27 points. They only won four games when scoring fewer than 27 points, and they were 11-1 when putting up at least 27 points on the board. Their only loss was to the Packers.

If you like the Rams to win this game – which I do – then betting OVER 26.5 (-112) Over is the way to go.

During this playoff run, they scored 34 against the Cardinals, 30 against the Buccaneers and 20 against the 49ers, and San Francisco is a team that’s had their number for years.

When you figure that three of their eight games with fewer than 27 points came against the 49ers, it’s easy to see how good the Rams offense has been all year.

Bet RAMS TOTAL OVER 26.5 (-112).

Looking at Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl first-half winner, with 2022 Super Bowl odds, picks and predictions.

The Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals face off Sunday in Super Bowl LVI to determine who are this season’s NFL champions. While perhaps the most intriguing part of the game and the most intriguing bet that can be made is on the result, one can also wager on who will be leading after the first half. Will the Rams or Bengals end the first half in the lead, or might the game be tied?

Below, we look at the first-half winner Super Bowl prop bets with  NFL picks and predictions.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium in Southern California. The game will be televised on NBC.

First-half winner: Bengals (+150), Rams (-170), Tie (+1000)

Looking at the last 10 Super Bowls, two were tied at halftime: Chiefs-49ers two years ago and Patriots-Seahawks in the 2015 Super Bowl.

Two of the past 10 Super Bowl champs trailed at halftime. The Patriots rallied from 21-3 down to stun the Falcons 34-28 in the 2017 Super Bowl, and the Giants claimed a 21-17 victory over the Pats in the 2012 Super Bowl after trailing 10-9 at the break.

The other six times in the past 10 years, the eventual winner led at halftime.

More 2022 Super Bowl prop bet options

The Rams have led at halftime in two of their three postseason games. Of their 17 regular-season games, they trailed six times at halftime and were tied twice.

The Bengals led at halftime in two of their three postseason games. They trailed at halftime in eight of their 17 regular-season games.

There isn’t much to be said about their regular-season performances, as each team led at halftime in nine games in the regular season and two of three postseason games.

But looking at recent history, the most likely first-half winner is the one who will win the game and lift the Lombard Trophy.

I believe the Rams will ultimately be the champions, so take the chalky pick of the RAMS (-150) as the FIRST-HALF WINNER.

However, consider sprinkling something on TIE (+1000): FIRST-HALF WINNER. The payout is too great to pass up. It could be worth a hedge, at the very least.

2022 Super Bowl prop bets: First-half total

Looking at Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl first-half total, with 2022 Super Bowl odds, picks and predictions.

The Los Angeles Rams meet the Cincinnati Bengals in their home building of SoFi Stadium Sunday for Super Bowl 56. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Rams vs. Bengals Super Bowl first-half total with  NFL picks and predictions.

L.A. advanced to its second Super Bowl in the last four seasons by hammering the Cardinals 34-11 in the Wild Card Round, upsetting the defending champion Buccaneers 30-27 in the Divisional Round and beating the Niners 20-17 in the NFC title game.

Cincy returns to the Big Game for the third time in franchise history, but the last trip was in 1989 – they lost both games to a Joe Montana-led 49ers squad.

They made it to this one after beating the Raiders 26-19 in a Wild Card tilt, upsetting the AFC’s top-seeded Titans 19-16 in the Divisional Round and stunning the second-seeded Chiefs 27-24 in K.C. in the conference championship.

  • Over/Under (O/U): 23.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

OVER 23.5 (-115)

L.A. put up one of the biggest offensive duds in Super Bowl history when the Rams and head coach Sean McVay (aka the Boy Genius) were embarrassed 13-3 by the Patriots in Super Bowl 53.

But McVay should have learned from that performance and there’s no way this Cincy coaching staff can devise as good of a defensive game plan as New England’s did in 2019.

The Rams were 45-0 overall when leading after the first half in the McVay era (est. 2016) before L.A. blew a first-half lead in a 27-24 overtime loss to San Francisco in Week 18.

McVay knows Cincy will be in serious trouble if it has to come from behind since the Rams have one of the best pass rushes (DE Aaron Donald) in the league and the Bengals have struggled in pass protection.

In fact, Cincy QB Joe Burrow was sacked 9 times versus Tennessee in the AFC Divisional Round. The Rams and McVay will harness their nervous energy and go all out on the Bengals in the first half.

Also, much to my surprise, Cincy’s 10.6% return on investment on first-half Overs is the biggest in the NFL as the Bengals are 11-8-1 O/U in first halves this season, according to EVAnalytics.com.

Cincy goes Over the first-half total at the highest rate despite playing the third-slowest pace in the NFL. Plus, L.A. plays the fourth-fastest neutral situation pace, which further supports my previous point that the Rams will try to get out to a fast start.

While I give L.A.’s offense the edge in this matchup, Cincy’s offense is obviously potent and Burrow and Co. certainly have the talent to get into a shootout.

Furthermore, several NFL gambling podcasts and shows have touted the Under 23.5 (-105) first-half total for this Super Bowl, so it might end up as a quasi-popular betting derivative.

However, that pick seems somewhat lazy. Betting the first-half Under in NFL prime-time games was a very profitable system a few seasons ago.

The market is clinging to this outdated betting system and the oddsmakers are laying a trap by making the first-half Under cheaper.

BET FIRST-HALF OVER 23.5 (-115).
