Philadelphia Eagles announce updated practice squad

The Philadelphia Eagles now have a completed, 16-man practice squad after signing defensive tackle Thomas Booker, offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark and cornerback Tiawan Mullen ahead of the season opener against New England.

The Eagles signed 13 players to their initial practice squad on Wednesday, including two veterans and several training camp standouts.

As previously reported, NFL teams can have 16 players on the squad, and Philadelphia could still fill the remaining three.

There can be up to 10 players with as many as two years of accrued service and six with unlimited time.

Practice squad players can be elevated up to three times for gamedays.

Steelers signing former Titans OT Le’Raven Clark

Former Titans OT Le’Raven Clark is reportedly signing with the Steelers.

Former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark will be playing elsewhere in 2023, with the veteran lineman reportedly agreeing to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The news comes from theScore’s Jordan Schultz. The length and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A former third-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2016, Clark appeared in 13 games (two starts) for Tennessee last season after being signed off the street in late September.

Clark was once a popular man in Nashville as fans clamored for someone, anyone to replace Dennis Daley at left tackle. That never came to fruition.

Instead Clark only saw 10 snaps at the position all season, and another 98 at right tackle, where he also made one start in place of rookie right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere.

The 29-year-old is predominantly a swing tackle, but Clark does bring a bit more versatility with him to Pittsburgh thanks to some experience at guard.

Titans might give Dillon Radunz another look at tackle

Titans OC Todd Downing suggested the team could give Dillon Radunz another look at left tackle, but it sounds like Le’Raven Clark will get the first crack at it if the team makes a change.

The Tennessee Titans have a slew of issues on the offensive side of the ball, but one of the bigger issues is at left tackle, where Dennis Daley has struggled mightily.

Daley allowed three sacks and four pressures in total in Week 13, and his sack percentage allowed (2.8) is the highest of any offensive tackle going back to 2014 (minimum 300 snaps).

Earlier this week, head coach Mike Vrabel revealed that veteran tackle Le’Raven Clark would get a chance to compete for the job, suggesting Daley’s days as the left tackle might be numbered.

On Thursday, offensive coordinator Todd Downing spoke about Clark getting a chance to compete, but also said the team might give 2021 second-round pick, Dillon Radunz, another look at tackle.

One of the more perplexing things about the Titans’ left tackle situation is the team’s reluctance to at least give Radunz a look there. After all, the Titans did draft him to play tackle, and he couldn’t be worse than Daley.

The North Dakota State product saw one start at left tackle in 2021 and was decent overall. The most impressive part was that he helped limit San Francisco 49ers star pass-rusher Joey Bosa to zero sacks.

Radunz failed to secure the right tackle job out of training camp in 2022, and since then he has only gotten playing time at guard despite the issues at tackle.

Downing’s comments suggest that the idea of Radunz at tackle isn’t dead yet, but it would appear that Clark will get the first crack at it if the team indeed makes a change.

Titans considering making a change at left tackle

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel revealed on Monday that the team will give Le’Raven Clark a chance to compete at LT.

The Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles might’ve been the worst overall showing from the offensive line the entire season, but left tackle Dennis Daley still managed to stick out as the worst of the bunch.

Daley committed a brutal penalty in the red zone that helped kill a potential touchdown drive, and then he was a turn style for the Eagles’ pass-rush, allowing three sacks and four pressures in total.

Rightly so, Titans fans are clamoring for the team to try something new, and while it looks like they might based on recent comments by head coach Mike Vrabel, it might not be the solution they were expecting.

On Monday, Vrabel said that the team would give veteran offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark an opportunity to compete for the starting job.

“When you play that position, there’s some things that are glaring when you get beat,” Vrabel said. “[Dennis] is going to work hard, and Le’Raven is going to have a chance to compete.”

So, now it appears that Clark could be the next man up, and not the offensive tackle they drafted with a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Dillon Radunz. Seeing that, it’s safe to assume Radunz as a tackle is dead.

A former Indianapolis Colt and Eagle, Clark has appeared in 59 games (16 starts) since being drafted in the third round in 2016 by Indy.

Clark has played in eight games for Tennessee, but hadn’t seen a snap on offense until Sunday, when he played 10. The 29-year-old saw four pass-blocking snaps and didn’t allow a pressure, but that was in garbage time.

Clark is unlikely to be much of a solution for the Titans at left tackle, but at least they’re trying something.

Eagles sign OT Roderick Johnson to the practice squad

After losing Le’Raven Clark to the Tennessee Titans, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed offensive tackle Roderick Johnson to the practice squad.

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing veteran offensive tackle Roderick Johnson to their 16-player practice squad, the team just announced.

Johnson was signed after the Tennessee Titan signed Le’Raven Clark off Philadelphia’s practice squad to their 53-man roster.

The Cleveland Browns drafted Johnson in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Florida State.

Johnson made six starts in 29 total games with the Texans before spending time on the Dolphins and Chiefs roster this summer.

Titans signing OT Le’Raven Clark off the Eagles practice squad

With veteran left tackle Taylor Lewan lost for the season, the Tennessee Titans are signing Le’Raven Clark to the active roster off the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad

The Eagles have the NFL’s top offensive line, and a considerable part of that distinction resided in the depth and versatility across the board.

That depth is now shrinking after a second practice squad offensive lineman is heading to another team’s 53-man roster.

With Taylor Lewan lost for the season after a torn ACL, Ian Rapoport reports that the Tennessee Titans are signing offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark off Philadelphia’s practice squad.

A versatile tackle who can play on both sides of the offensive line, Clark has played in 51 career NFL games with the Colts and Eagles, including six starts at left tackle, six starts at right guard, and four starts at right tackle.

The 6-foot-5, 311-pound Clark played in four games for the Eagles in 2021 and could be the Titans’ starting left tackle when they travel to Philadelphia in Week 13 for an intriguing matchup centered around A.J. Brown.

Titans sign Le’Raven Clark, add Joe Schobert to practice squad

The Titans added a pair of veterans on Tuesday, one to the active roster and one to the practice squad.

The Tennessee Titans made a trio of roster moves on Tuesday, adding one defensive player and one offensive player.

The team announced it has signed offensive lineman Le’Raven Clark off the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad. Tennessee also inked linebacker Joe Schobert to the practice squad. To make room for Schobert, outside linebacker Gerri Green was waived from the practice squad.

A 2016 third-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts, Clark spent five years in Indy before moving on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 and 2021.

Clark has appeared in 51 games (16 starts) over his career and has experience playing at both guard and tackle.

Schobert is a former fourth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2016. The 28-year-old former Pro Bowler has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hopefully the signing of Schobert to the practice squad isn’t an indication that starting linebacker Zach Cunningham’s elbow injury will force him to miss time.

Cunningham left the Week 3 game early with the injury and was seen with a heavily-wrapped elbow following the contest.
