Lakers at Mavericks: Mavs spoil AD’s return to action

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night in Anthony Davis’ first game back from injury.

The Los Angeles Lakers came into Thursday night’s game with a chance to welcome back Anthony Davis to the lineup with a victory. However, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks proved to be too much for the Lakers and Davis to handle on Thursday night. Despite a valiant effort in the second half, the Lakers fell to the Mavericks, 115-110. Doncic had 30 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and three steals in the win for Dallas.

Anthony Davis played 17 minutes in his first game back and scored four points on 2 of 10 shooting. It was definitely a night of shaking off the rust fo Davis, on both ends. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Lakers with 29 points and Dennis Schröder had 25 points.

While the Mavericks won the game, they did lose Kristaps Porzingis to an injury during the game. While it’s unclear how severe the apparent ankle injury is for Porzingis, it seems like a safe bet that he won’t play in the second match-up between these two teams on Saturday night back in Dallas.
