LOOK: Alabama fans react to Bryce Young’s 47-yard TD pass to Kobe Prentice

Alabama strikes first with a massive touchdown from Bryce Young to Kobe Prentice!

Alabama takes on Arkansas on the road for a big-time Week 5 SEC matchup that carries SEC West implications. Despite an interception thrown by Bryce Young near the end zone on the opening drive, he made up for it with the Crimson Tide’s second possession.

Young connects with wide receiver Kobe Prentice for a 47-yard touchdown early in the first quarterto open up the scoring for the game and give Alabama a seven-point lead.

Crimson Tide fans and college football fans from across the country reacted to the touchdown, as well as Young’s ability to read the defense and make changes at the line of scrimmage.

Here’s what hey had to say.

True freshmen who participated in Alabama’s Week 1 win over Utah State

A list of true freshmen who participated in Alabama’s Week 1 win over Utah State.

Alabama head football coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has to be pleased with his team’s effort on Saturday night as the Crimson Tide completely obliterated Utah State 55-0.

One of the most important attributes of a blowout victory is the opportunity that some of the younger players receive to see the field.

Aside from playing several second-year players, Alabama also placed a handful of true freshmen on the field. A few even received some snaps with the first team and receiver [autotag]Kobe Prentice[/autotag] earned the start in the slot.

Below is the complete list of true freshmen who participated in the Week 1 victory over Utah State.

Alabama’s offensive keys to victory against Utah State

What Alabama needs to do offensively in order to take care of Utah State on Saturday.

In just one day [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team will head over to Bryant-Denny Stadium for their 2022 season opener against the Utah State Aggies.

Reigning Heisman Trophy winner [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] is set to lead the Alabama offense again in 2022 and the expectations are through the roof for the kid from California.

Despite losing weapons such as Jameson Williams, John Metchie, and Brian Robinson, the Alabama offense looks to showcase some new weapons at receiver and running back. Georgia Tech transfer [autotag]Jahmyr Gibbs[/autotag] and Georgia transfer [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] will try to pick up some of the load left by the departed.

Utah State’s defensive style is aggressive and Alabama will have to play sound and fundamental football in order to avoid costly turnovers.

Let’s take a look at the five keys to victory for the Crimson Tide offense.

5 takeaways from Alabama football’s Week 1 depth chart

Breaking down Alabama football’s depth chart for its Week 1 matchup with Utah State.

Alabama head football coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has never really been a big fan of the depth chart. Nevertheless, on Monday Alabama released its official depth chart for its Week 1 matchup with the Utah State Aggies. As you can imagine social media went into a frenzy as the all too elusive depth chart first surfaced on Twitter.

There is a lot to digest in regards to the depth chart and that is what we are going to be doing here today. Surprises along the offensive line and the starters at receivers are just a couple of the attention grabbers.

Let’s take a few moments to comb through the Week 1 depth chart and dissect some of the most interesting placements within the three deep.

Coach Saban likes what he is seeing from two of Alabama’s true freshmen

Coach Saban had high praise when speaking to the media about true freshmen Emmanuel Henderson and Kobe Prentice.

Coach Saban spoke with the media after Wednesday’s practice about two of Alabama’s true freshmen that have stood out in particular: [autotag]Kobe Prentice[/autotag] and [autotag]Emmanuel Henderson[/autotag]. Both are currently working as wide receivers.

According to Charlie Potter of BamaOnline247, here is what Saban had to say about Henderson:

“I think that he can help us that position, and I think he will before the season’s out. … I’m encouraged by his athleticism.”

Saban doesn’t often compliment freshmen openly unless he has a plan for them to contribute early and often. With that being said, Prentice will likely have the opportunity to do that in week one with wide receiver JoJo Earle sidelined with a foot fracture.

Here is what Coach Saban had to say about Prentice according to Potter:

“I think that he’s showing promise with his quickness playing at the slot,” Saban said. “I think his opportunities have increased since JoJo (Earle) got hurt. He’s taken advantage of it, played fairly well. I still think he’s got a ways to go in terms of knowledge of the offense and doing things exactly like we’d like for him to do it. But he’s got great work ethic.

“He works hard every day. He’s got a great attitude. He’s really positive and upbeat about what he’s doing. He doesn’t get frustrated easily. I think all those things are contributing to his development.”

This is a development to keep a close eye on as the regular season opener against Utah State is a little over a week away. There is a strong chance that we could see both Prentice and Henderson on the field a lot this upcoming season for the Crimson Tide.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow news regarding the Alabama football program.

Projecting Alabama’s top wide receivers entering the 2022 season

Projecting the top wide receiver targets for Bryce Young entering the 2022 season.

Football is back, Tide fans! Alabama will kick the 2022 football season off in less than two weeks and the anticipation continues to mount.

As is the case in most seasons, questions regarding the starting lineup for week one are dominating message boards and Twitter threads. Well, with the season just around the corner, I thought I would start dropping my educated projections of who you might see take the first snaps at each position group.

Some groups are obvious such as quarterback and linebacker, but nevertheless, we will take a look at each group and give a little insight into who you might see take the field against Utah State on Sept. 3.

Today we are going to take a look at a group that has some question marks entering the season, the wide receivers.

Let’s roll!

Predicting Alabama’s WR depth chart after the addition of Tyler Harrell

Projecting Alabama’s WR depth chart after the addition of Tyler Harrell

On Friday afternoon Nick Saban and the Alabama football team received a massive commitment via the transfer portal from former Louisville wide receiver Tyler Harrell.

Harrell will join a loaded but unproven wide receiver corp in Tuscaloosa and will most likely push for some significant playing time due to his elite ability to stretch a defense vertically.

It’s hard to say with absolute certainty who the starting receivers will be for the Tide this fall. Outside of Jermaine Burton, who coach Saban praised all throughout spring practice, there hasn’t been anyone that has taken the bull by the horns just yet.

With the addition of Harrell, I thought it was a good time to try and see if we can predict how things will shake up for Alabama at the wide receiver position.

First…X-WR position…

Several Alabama signees finish as 5-stars in recent On3 rankings update

Nick Saban is showing no signs of slowing down both on the field and on the recruiting trail

Traditional signing day is just a little over a week away and although Nick Saban and Alabama have pretty much wrapped up its class of 2022, player rankings continue to be updated.

On Monday, On3 Sports released its updated On300 rankings and several of Alabama’s signees finished with five-star status.

The Crimson Tide came in at No. 2 in the country in the consensus rankings just behind Texas A&M.

In total, Alabama saw five of its signees finish with a five-star rating. Of those, three were on offense and two were on defense. Here is every five-star signee the Crimson Tide has for the class of 2022.

To top things off, the updated rankings also show that in total, Alabama landed 15 of the top 100 players according to On3. Here are the remaining signees who finished inside of the top 100.

The class of 2022 is absolutely loaded for Saban and the Tide and it should be a lot of fun to watch these prospects develop over the next few seasons.

5 takeaways from Alabama’s early signing day

5 early signing day takeaways for Alabama

Yesterday, Nick Saban and Alabama hauled in some of the top talent from around the country on early signing day.

Currently, the Tide sits with the second-ranked class in the nation according to On3.

Now that the dust has settled and we have had time to reflect on some of the events from a wild Wednesday, I thought we could take a few moments to look at some of the key takeaways from this steller class for the Crimson Tide.

Let’s get started!

SIGNED: 4-star WR Kobe Prentice officially signs with Alabama

Alabama signs yet another elite WR prospect in Kobe Prentice!

Alabama continues to haul in stars at the wide receiver position. The latest is a four-star in-state prospect, Kobe Prentice.

Prentice gave a verbal to the Tide back in July, but moments ago signed his official NLI to join Alabama.

The speedy wideout soared up the recruiting rankings late in the process thanks to a spectacular senior season.

Stay up to date with Alabama’s 2022 class with Roll Tide Wire’s ‘Early Signing Day Tracker.’

Prentice hails from Calera, AL where he attended Calera High School.
