Joe Burrow praises former LSU teammate K’Lavon Chaisson before Jags, Bengals matchup

Joe Burrow will enter Week 4 looking for his first NFL win, and to get it, he’ll have to go through an old teammate in K’Lavon Chaisson.

One of the more interesting tidbits about the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 4 game is that it will give their fans a look at the No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow, who is having a good season despite some offensive line issues. While the Cincinnati Bengals have yet to win any games, his efforts have kept them in all of their contests and that could be the case this Sunday as the Jags’ defense has struggled.

The matchup is one that will also give Burrow an opportunity to play against his old Louisiana State teammate K’Lavon Chaisson, who he was able to win a national title with. When meeting with the media Wednesday, Burrow reflected on the time he and Chaisson spent on the practice field and praised his skill set, calling him the “total package.”

While it’s possible Burrow could put together a good performance against the Jags, Chaisson could be up for solid day, too. As previously mentioned, the Bengals’ offensive line hasn’t been good, allowing eight sacks and 18 hits on the rookie. Meanwhile, the Jags’ defensive line will enter Week 4 with just three sacks (tied for 31st), so this could be a chance for them to get going. One of those sacks came from Chaisson Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans, who will enter Sunday’s game with four tackles and a Pro Football Focus grade of 57.6.

With the Jags coming off an embarrassing 31-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins, it would be nice to see the Jags handle their business against the Bengals and bounce back. For that to happen, the defense can’t let Burrow move the ball with ease as they allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Tannehill to, because if they do, it will be a long day for the Jags.
