#Bills’ Khalil Shakir on 81-yard touchdown: ‘Felt like I was moving in slow motion’

The top highlight for the Bills against the Jets in Week 12 was undoubtedly Khalil Shakir’s touchdown.

En route to the 32-6 win, the Bills (6-5) got an 81-yard catch-and-run from Shakir which impressed everyone on his team.

“He made a heck of a play. The effort getting to the end zone,” quarterback Josh Allen said via video conference.

Along with complimenting Shakir’s efforts to take the ball to the house, Allen noted the efforts by others on that rep. Shakir did the same.

Both Allen and Shakir mentioned how others such as Stefon Diggs and Dalton Kincaid ran their routes and distracted the Jets (4-6) defense. It helped Shakir make it all the way down the field for the touchdown which brought the score to 32-6 and cemented the win.

“17 put it right on the money. That’s the O-line allowing him to get that ball out, so I appreciate them. That’s everybody else running they routes so I could get open. I appreciate everybody,” Shakir said. “Just caught it and kept running. Cut back and I felt like I was moving in slow motion.

“Shoot, then I ended up in the end zone.”

Stock up, stock down following the Bills’ 32-6 win over the Jets

Here is Bills Wire’s stock report following Sunday’s 32-6 demolition of the New York Jets in an AFC East showdown:

The Buffalo Bills (6-5) hosted the New York Jets (4-6) at Highmark Stadium on Sunday in a game between AFC East rivals and won 32-6.

The Bills came into this game after disappointing losses to the Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals that had the entire NFL world, including Bills Mafia, stressing about Buffalo’s playoff odds this season.

This matchup seemed to be over in the early going as the Bills went up 16-0 with 3:03 left in the second quarter after Bills star quarterback Josh Allen threw a five-yard pass to running back James Cook for a touchdown.

Here is Bills Wire’s stock report following the much-needed win:

5 takeaways from the #Bills’ 32-6 win over the #Jets:

The Buffalo Bills topped the New York Jets in their Week 11 matchup at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills came out of the gate flying… unlike the Jets. New York might as well have stayed home for this one.

The Jets ended up being pressed into benching quarterback Zach Wilson for the first time as Buffalo’s defense relentlessly got after him.

All that went down while the Bills offense up put big points once again. It was a slow start with a few field goals as the Jets’ stout defense held strong… but in the end there was just too much too handle.

Instant analysis, recap of Bills’ return to win column vs. Jets

A good day for the #Bills vs. the #Jets:

The Buffalo Bills returned to their winning ways with a decisive 32-6 victory over the New York Jets in Week 11 action. The Bills dominated in all facets of the game to keep in close distance of a playoff spot.

The Bills took advantage of the Jets from the opening kickoff. Reggie Gilliam forced a fumble from New York returner Xavier Gipson, giving Buffalo’s offense the ball deep in Jets territory. The Bills failed to earn a first down on their initial offensive drive, but Buffalo at least walked away with a 3-0 lead following a 48-yard Tyler Bass field goal.

The New York Jets could not muster much of anything that resembled an offensive attack for their next four drives. Buffalo’s defense kept Jets quarterback Zach Wilson under wraps. With little going on for New York in the passing game, the Jets became predictable and the Bills defense shut down everything New York attempted. The Jets only totaled 20 total yards on these drives.

The Jets defense, for their part, kept their team in the game as long as they could. Buffalo would only add two more field goals to the scoreboard on their next two drives.

Buffalo forced another New York turnover with just over five minutes remaining in the first half. Bills defensive back Rasul Douglas jumped a Garrett Wilson route for the Jets to grab his first interception as a Bill.

Buffalo responded with the first touchdown of the game. Quarterback Josh Allen found running back James Cook open out of the backfield for a five-yard touchdown pass.

The Jets offense stalled out on the subsequent drive. Coming out of the two-minute warning, New York called a successful fake punt play. The Jets drove down the field methodically, finishing with a nine-yard pass from Wilson to running back Breece Hall. The Jets were unsuccessful on the two-point conversion.

The second half was all Buffalo. The Bills scored on their first two offensive drives to put the game out of reach.

Running back Ty Johnson scored on a 28-yard pass reception to put Buffalo up by two touchdowns on fourth down. Buffalo’s offensive big play finally happened, as receiver Khalil Shakir went 81 yards on a catch-and-run score.

The Bills forced the Jets to make a change at quarterback. Buffalo’s defense had a field day shutting down Wilson. With the Bills up 29-6, the Jets would turn to Tim Boyle at quarterback.

Things kept going well for Buffalo’s defense. Linebacker Tyrel Dodson forced a Garrett Wilson fumble to stop the Jets most promising drive of the half. Douglas recovered the fumble, being part of his second turnover of the game.

The fourth quarter essentially became garbage time for the entire 15 minutes. The Bills almost poached another interception, this time at the hands of Boyle. However, the review showed that safety Jordan Poyer did not secure the interception prior to the ball hitting the ground.

Tyler Bass added a 50-yard field goal into the wind to give Buffalo a 32-6 lead late in the fourth quarter.

Douglas added a late interception for his second on the night. This would seal the game for Buffalo. The Bills would conclude the night with a reassuring and comfortable victory.

The third TD went to Khalil Shakir, who took it 81 total yards after collection the pass.

Bills punch in touchdown vs. Broncos after Taron Johnson takeaway (video)

The #Bills tie it up:

A series of great plays from the Bills and it’s all tied up with the Broncos.

The Bills defense first came up huge. On third down, defender Taron Johnson forced a fumble as Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton was pushing for a first down. The ball was picked up by one of the newest Bills defensive backs, Rasul Douglas.

From there, the Bills offense went to work. Seven plays later, running back Latavius Murray scored on the goal line. On that ensuing drive, the big play was a pass from quarterback Josh Allen to Khalil Shakir that went 24 yards down the field.

The Buffalo Bills taught us some things in their latest outing.

The Bills (5-3) topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) on Thursday Night Football by a final score of 24-18. Buffalo had a strong game plan, but the Bucs hung tough and in the end, it was a close one.

Offensively, the Bills ran a balanced attack. Tampa Bay did eventually put up some numbers against the Buffalo defense. While it didn’t feel like a one-score game for nearly the entire evening, that’s what it ended up being.
