Marco De Croce will be visiting Rutgers football (and his brother) on Thursday

Class of 2025 offensive lineman Marco De Croce will be visiting Rutgers football this week…and visiting his brother too.

Northern Valley Demarest lineman Marco De Croce will be visiting Rutgers football on Thursday. It is an opportunity for the Big Ten program to get in early with a recruit whose family has some serious ties to the university.

De Croce, who is now 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, is a class of 2025 recruit. He also plays basketball.

Thursday’s spring practice will also several other top recruits from the area on campus, including Bryce Jenkins. A four-star defensive lineman from Washington, D.C., Jenkins is a class of 2025 prospect who is likely to become one of the most sought-after players in the nation.

As for De Croce, he is a high-caliber offensive lineman who also plays defensive end. He is strong and powerful, generating good power from his lower body and his plant.

He also has good upper body strength, an area that clearly was seen during his sophomore season where he handled edge rushers more efficiently.

De Croce tweeted about the Rutgers football visit on Wednesday evening:

His brother, Joe De Croce, was a redshirt last year on the football team and was a three-star recruit coming out of high school. Their father, Rich De Croce, attended Rutgers as well.

Joe De Croce isn’t letting a torn ACL and meniscus keep him away from getting stronger.

A Rutgers football commit, De Croce has been a regular at SHI Stadium for both of the Scarlet Knights home games this season and he will be at Saturday’s game against No. 11 Ohio State. He also has been a regular in the weight room and is seeing his strength improve.

De Croce posted this video on Thursday where he is bench pressing 315 pounds (with chains) for three reps. He got a very slight assist at the end of his final rep from his spotter.

It is impressive strength from the future Scarlet Knights offensive lineman, who committed to the program this past spring.

What’s up with the chains? Seasoned gym goers will know that adding chains to explosive workout motions such as a bench press or even a squat increases resistance the farther you get into a motion. De Croce is one of six members of the 2022 recruiting class being brought in along the offensive line.

The injury happened in August when the Northern Valley offensive lineman was hurt in a scrimmage with Delbarton. The injury shelved him for the entirety of his senior season. He had surgery in late August.
