Former Texas Tech WRs Jerand Bradley, Myles Price announce transfer destinations

The Texas Tech duo announced their new destinations on Monday.

On Monday former Red Raider wide receivers Jerand Bradley and Myles Price both announced where they would play next. The duo will be heading in different directions as Bradley heads to the ACC and Price is Big Ten bound.

Price has spent the last four seasons with Texas Tech, this past year was his most productive from a touchdown standpoint. He hauled in 161 receptions for 1,751 yards and 10 touchdowns. In his first two seasons, he was also used as a runner with 26 attempts for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Price will now join an Indiana Hoosiers squad that recently hired former James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti to run the program. Price should have ample opportunity to show what he can bring to an offense that is in desperate need of playmakers. Indiana finished 3-9 this past year which caused them to move in a new direction with the firing of Tom Allen following the season.

Bradley announced that he would be on his way to join the Boston College Eagles in 2024. Bradley joined the Red Raiders as part of the 2021 recruiting class. He showed flashes as a freshman in 2021 and was a bigger part of the offense in his redshirt freshman season of 2022. That role seemed to lessen this past season.

Bradley hauled in 92 passes for 1,274 yards, and 10 touchdowns during his three-year stint with Texas Tech. Most of his production came in 2022, the first year under head coach Joey McGuire. Bradley will give BC a legitimate threat on the perimeter. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 6-6 record under head coach Jeff Hafley.

The Red Raiders did add some talent of their own this transfer portal cycle with former Florida Gators wide receiver Caleb Douglas and former Washington State Cougars wide receiver Josh Kelly. Not to mention they will add five-star signee Micah Hudson, who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Texas according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Oregon fans know QB Tyler Shough pretty well. Here are some other names to make note of going into Saturday.

There’s an interesting set of expectations that are presenting themselves for Oregon Ducks fans as they head into Week 2 of the season against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Because of the results in Week 1 — a lopsided victory for Oregon against a bad team, and a disappointing double-overtime loss to an average team for Texas Tech — it’s hard to predict what we may see in Lubbock this weekend.

There’s a chance that the Red Raiders come out firing, knowing that they need to do anything they can in order to avoid an 0-2 start. There’s also a chance that the home team is completely outmatched by a really good Oregon team.

While it’s impossible to predict the outcome, we do know that there are a number of players on the Texas Tech roster that Duck fans need to pay attention to going into the game. Whether it’s a solid QB or dangerous weapons on offense, or a pair of stout defensive linemen, the Red Raiders have a lot of highly talented players that can cause this game to change.

Ranking the best Big 12 wide receivers ahead of the 2023 season

Texas and Texas Tech lead the way in our Big 12 WR rankings with seven players between the two schools.

Since the formation of the Big 12 in 1996, this conference has been known for its passing offense. More importantly, we have seen monster years from the wide receivers.

Players such as Ryan Broyles (Oklahoma), James Washington (Oklahoma State), Kendall Wright (Baylor), Roy Williams (Texas), and Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech) are among those conference legends at receiver.

This year’s group will include players from Brigham Young, Central Florida, Cincinnati, and Houston joining the 10 existing members from 2022. But which of these teams has the best receivers in our preliminary rankings ahead of the 2023 season?

Among our list, the Texas Longhorns and Texas Tech Red Raiders have the most players ranked. But perhaps one of the newcomers could snag the top spot by season’s end.

Report Card: Sooners defense can’t hold up in finale vs. Texas Tech

With an opportunity to solidify themselves above .500, Oklahoma traveled to Lubbock, Texas to take on the Texas Tech Raiders. Texas Tech took the first couple of punches from the Sooners on the chin before fighting their way back into the game. The game would eventually go to overtime, where a missed Zach Schmit field goal would lead to Texas Tech kicking the game-winner for a 51-48 victory to leave the Sooners at 6-6 for the regular season.

It was far from a horrible performance for the team as a whole, but it followed a similar script we’ve seen too many times this year. Oklahoma came out on fire before they eased up and let the other team back in the game.

The offense did a magnificent job from the opening snap, while the defense and special teams left a bit to be desired.

Oklahoma (6-5, 3-5 Big 12) will face Texas Tech (6-5, 4-4) on Saturday night in Lubbock, and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

Heading into last weekend, both the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Tech were still in search of the win to get them to bowl eligibility. For both teams, it’s been a roller coaster of a season with their first-year head coaches, though Oklahoma’s struggles have been more the surprise.

Joey McGuire has Texas Tech bowl eligible for the second-straight season. It’s the first time since 2012-2013 that the Red Raiders have gone to a bowl game in back-to-back seasons.

The big storyline facing the Red Raiders is the loss of Tyree Wilson for the season. Their star edge rusher was in the midst of a fantastic year with 61 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Texas Tech’s defense has had some issues in 2022, losing their best player creates a hole along the defensive front, particularly in the pass rush.

The Sooners are dealing with their own injury issues, as Andrew Raym will miss the remainder of the year after having surgery. Robert Congel has filled in admirably in his absence, but the interior offensive line will be something to watch.
