Washington Week 12 injury designations: DT Daron Payne Doubtful, TE Vernon Davis OUT

Washington Week 12 injury designations include tight end Vernon Davis listed as OUT and defensive tackle Daron Payne listed as Doubtful.

As the Detroit Lions prepare for Week 12, Washington has declared their injury declarations for this weekend’s game at FedEx Field. Despite having 14 players listed on the injury report, Washington is actually relatively healthy with only five players unable to get in a full complement of work at practices.

Let’s take a closer look at who won’t play, whose status is in question and those who will play on Sunday despite being banged up.

Ruled OUT

TE Vernon Davis (concussion) — placed on injured reserve

Davis has been placed on injured reserve after battling a concussion for most of the season.

Doubtful

DL Daron Payne (ankle)

Payne did not practice at all this week but Washington is holding a sliver of hope he could be ready by Sunday. If he can’t play, Tim Settle (who missed last game with a hamstring injury) would likely start at nose tackle in his place.

Questionable

RB Adrian Peterson (toe)
RB Chris Thompson (toe)
CB Josh Norman (hamstring)

All week Washington coaches have said they expect Peterson to play, while Thompson is coming off a missed game and could also return.

Norman practiced in full Wednesday and Thursday but was downgraded to limited on Friday. It’s unclear is this was planned or if he suffered a setback, but he could be a game-time decision.

Not listed with an injury designation

WR Terry McLaurin (wrist)
WR Paul Richardson (hamstring)
RT Morgan Moses (thumb)
DL Jonathan Allen (ankle/knee)
DL Tim Settle (hamstring)
LB Cole Holcomb (thumb)
S Montae Nicholson (ankle)
S Deshazor Everett (ankle)
P Tress Way (right shin)

The most positive news from this section is that starting defensive lineman Jonathan Allen improved from no practice on Wednesday to limited on Thursday, then full on Friday and does not carry an injury designation into the game.

The rest of the players in this section are not listed with an injury designation as expected.

Saints injury report: Marshon Lattimore questionable vs. Panthers

The New Orleans Saints injury report ruled out WR Deonte Harris, but CB Marshon Lattimore is questionable against the Carolina Panthers.

[jwplayer WU2Y8Ngc]

The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers released their final injury report ahead of Week 12’s kickoff, including game status expectations for several recently-injured players. The Saints will again be without key contributors like wide receiver Deonte Harris, who is battling a hamstring injury.

However, cornerback Marshon Lattimore is questionable to play, having practiced Friday on a limited basis. Hamstring issues can linger and only really improve with rest, so sitting each of them makes sense with New Orleans scheduled to play two games in five days (Sunday with the Panthers, the following Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons). Fullback Zach Line is also ruled out for Sunday after resting during practice all week with a knee injury, but tight end Josh Hill is expected to play after suffering a mild concussion a week ago.

Here’s what we learned on Friday’s injury report:

From the Saints

  • OL Andrus Peat (forearm), Did not participate, Out
  • CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring), Did not participate, Questionable
  • WR Deonte Harris (hamstring), Did not participate, Out
  • FB Zach Line (knee), Did not participate, Out

Raiders-Jets final injury report: Lamarcus Joyner will make trip, questionable to play

Raiders-Jets final injury report: Lamarcus Joyner will make trip, questionable to play

Returning to practice Friday for the Raiders was cornerback Lamarcus Joyner. The Raiders nickel corner suffered a hamstring injury on the final drive of the team’s Thursday Night game against the Chargers in week 10 that caused him to miss last week’s game against the Bengals.

The injury seemed serious enough to have him out at least a couple weeks, but he returned to practice on Friday, and Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said Joyner will make the trip to New York where the team will face the Jets.

Whether that means Joyner will play is another story. He is officially listed as questionable, and Gruden didn’t sound optimistic Joyner will suit up.

“I’m not sure about Joyner. I would list him as questionable,” said Gruden, adding that Joyner will make the trip. “Not sure he’ll play, but he’ll be there.”

The Jets saw no upgrades to their players on Friday. All four players who were missing the previous day were still missing. CJ Mosley is officially OUT, as expected, and the other three are all Doubtful. The eight players were limited are all questionable.

Jaguars final injury report vs. Titans: TE Seth DeValve to miss his second consecutive week

Seth DeValve will miss his second consecutive week with an oblique injury he sustained last week.

For the second consecutive week the Jacksonville Jaguars only had one player on their final injury report as tight end Seth DeValve is still recovering from the oblique injury he sustained last Thursday.

The Jags haven’t had the best luck at the tight end position and last Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts left them in worse shape at the position. With DeValve out, they only entered the game with Josh Oliver and Ben Koyack at the position but Oliver had to be placed on injured reserve afterward as a result of sustaining multiple back fractures.

[lawrence-related id=26467]

The Jags signed veteran tight end Nick O’Leary out of free-agency Monday and promoted Charles Jones from their practice squad. Both will now join Koyack giving the Jags three tight ends to travel to Tennessee with.

Jags have close to full participation in practice Thursday

The Jags had all but two players participate in their practice session Thursday in TE Seth DeValve and Dede Westbrook.

The Jacksonville Jaguars only had two players to sit out of practice Thursday for their upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans in tight end Seth DeValve (oblique) and receiver Dede Westbrook (illness), who was a new addition to the injury report. Aside from those two every player on the injury report participated to some capacity.

Receivers D.J. Chark Jr. (hamstring) and Chris Conley (hamstring) and nickelback D.J. Hayden (hip/wrist) were the three players from Wednesday’s injury report who were upgraded from limited to full participation. Safety Ronnie Harrison (eye) and offensive tackle Cam Robinson (knee) also were full participants.

Veterans Calais Campbell (back) and Brandon Linder (shoulder) were the only two limited participants on Thursday’s report. Both were on last week’s injury reports for the same injuries but were able to play in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Falcons Week 12 injury report: Matt Ryan returns, Takk McKinley out Thursday

Atlanta had a long list of players on its Wednesday injury report, including Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman and Takk McKinley. Fortunately for the Falcons, Ryan and Jones returned to practice today.

Atlanta had a long list of players on its Wednesday injury report, including Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman and Takk McKinley. Fortunately for the Falcons, Ryan and Jones returned to practice today.

As for Freeman and McKinley, both sat out again on Thursday. We know Freeman isn’t likely to play in Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but McKinley would be a big loss as he finally looks to be getting comfortable.

Safety Kemal Ishmael and tight end Austin Hooper were the other two Falcons players to miss practice, which you can see in the table below.

Updated Week 12 Saints-Panthers injury report

The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers published their updated injury reports ahead of their Week 12 game, but it didn’t clarify much.

[jwplayer WU2Y8Ngc]

The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers published their second injury report ahead of their Week 12 clash, the result of which could put the Saints one game away from their third straight NFC South title (with a little help from the Panthers’ next opponent). Here’s a refresher on the division standings:

  1. New Orleans Saints (8-2)
  2. Carolina Panthers (5-5)
  3. Atlanta Falcons (3-7)
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-7)

As for the Saints injury report: cornerback Marshon Lattimore and wide receiver Deonte Harris are both battling hamstring injuries, and did not participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough. That does not bode well for their status to play on Sunday. Tight end Josh Hill’s status will be worth following throughout the remainder of the week. Hill’s concussion was described as ‘mild’ and the tight end was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

The injury reports published by the Saints and the Panthers on Thursday is the second report for the week. A second, updated report will be released on Thursday. The final injury report with game status for certain players will be issued on Friday. Daily changes in practice participation are noted in bold text.
