Our best bets and prediction for Wednesday’s game between the Lakers and Pacers, with odds via @Tipico Sportsbook.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. PT and can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet and Bally Sports Indiana/Midwest/South/Southeast.

Los Angeles (22-22) is seeking to win the season series against Indiana after winning in overtime the first time around. The Lakers are currently dealing with uncertainty with head coach Frank Vogel’s job status, so that will be something to monitor based on the player’s effort.

Indiana (15-29) is on a four-game losing skid and won’t have Myles Turner and T.J. McConnell available for this game. Malcolm Brogdon is also questionable to play, so the Lakers need to take advantage and go a game over .500 by sweeping the season series against a lowly Pacers squad.

Rookie Power Rankings: Franz Wagner stays on top, while the top picks return

Rookie Wire takes a look at the top first-year players over the last two weeks of the 2021-22 season.

The rookie class recently saw more action as teams and players alike dealt with the latest coronavirus outbreak across the NBA that saw dozens sidelined in the health and safety protocol.

With over 200 players entering the protocol, several saw additional action recently around the league. However, it appears as though teams are through the worst of it with more players and individuals back and out of the protocol.

The last round of Rookie Wire Power Rankings included several under-the-radar first-year players. With more teams nearing full strength again, some of the top draftees have returned to the court and are contributing at a high level again.

To make sense of it all, we took a look at the best recent performances of these first-year players and ranked them in the latest edition of the Rookie Wire Power Rankings. The rankings are not for Rookie of the Year purposes but, rather, to illustrate the best players week to week.

WATCH: Boston’s Jaylen Brown gets 26 points, career-high 15 boards, 6 assists vs. Pacers in OT win

Brown is increasingly building on his past performances in recent games.

Even though he may have been snubbed in the NBA’s most recent round of their Player of the Week honors, Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown managed to hang 50 points on the Orlando Magic, followed by his first career triple-double against the New York Knicks, only to hit another career high in the Celtics’ 101 – 98 win over the Indiana Pacers Monday night.

Brown put up 26 points, 15 boards (the career-high), 6 assists, and a block while shooting 11-of-26 from the floor, 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe in 44 minutes of floor time counting the overtime period.

The Celtics needed everything Brown had in the tank to get the win in one of the uglier games the team has played in a while.

But a win — ugly or not — is a win, and if you want to see the highlights from the Georgia native that helped secure, be sure to check out the clip embedded above from YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski.

NBA Power Rankings: Grizzlies, Ja Morant wrecking havoc across NBA

Rookie Wire took a look at the NBA through games played on Sunday and ranked each team from worst to first.

With most of the NBA near the halfway point of the season, teams have a fairly good idea by now if they will be competing for playoff positioning or ping-pong balls in the lottery.

Several teams have established themselves as the creme of the crop, while others are seemingly still trying to figure things out. The Memphis Grizzlies have emerged as the hottest team in the league, while the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors have also gone streaking.

To further make sense of it all, Rookie Wire took a look at the NBA and ranked each team from worst to first. We will come back each week and provide our latest assessment on the best teams and those that are rising.

Indiana Pacers at Boston Celtics: Stream, lineups, injury reports and broadcast info (1/10)

Everything you need to know for Monday’s home tilt with the Pacers.

The Boston Celtics (19-21) will host the Indiana Pacers (15-25) at TD Garden the night of Monday, Jan. 10 as they hope to secure a second win in a row after a convincing 99-75 home win over the New York Knicks this past Saturday evening behind star forward Jaylen Brown’s first career triple-double.

If you happen to be looking for a way to watch the action live on cable television or an online streaming service, keep reading on while we get you up to speed on everything you need to know about the game.

Let’s begin with who ought to be available to play.

Rick Carlisle: Chris Duarte provided ‘good lift’ in return from protocol

Duarte returned from a four-game absence due to the health and safety protocol and gave the team a spark in a win over the Jazz.

Indiana Pacers rookie Chris Duarte on Saturday returned from a four-game absence due to the health and safety protocol and gave the team a spark off the bench in a win over the Utah Jazz.

Duarte, in 19 minutes of work, scored nine points, three rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot in the 125-113 victory. He went 2-of-6 from the field, including 1-of-3 from 3-point range, as the Pacers snapped a six-game losing streak with the win.

The Pacers were led by Domantas Sabonis, who scored a career-high 42 points while Lance Stephenson had 16 points and a career-high 14 assists. Oshae Brissett added seven points and Jeremy Lamb chipped in five points off the bench.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle liked what Duarte brought in his return.

We’re going to start getting guys back here at some point and that will be good but it is challenging with these guys coming back from COVID because it just takes a while. You look at Justin Holiday. I thought Duarte did a lot of good things tonight. Lamb and Duarte gave us a really good lift. They were both a significant plus but with their stretches, they are getting more fatigued than normal and we gotta work them back into it.

The 19 minutes logged by Duarte were well short of his season average of 28.5 so the Pacers are certainly looking to ease him back into action, as Carlisle eluded to. In any case, the return of Duarte was a welcomed sight as the team has been without several regulars due to the protocol.

After getting back on track with a win on Saturday, the Pacers will be looking to keep their momentum going. Getting more players back off the injury report will be key in stringing together some wins but the team took a big step forward with Duarte back on the court.

Pacers to guarantee Keifer Sykes for remainder of 2021-22 season

Indiana Pacers rookie Keifer Sykes will have his non-guaranteed contract become guaranteed for the remainder of the season, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Sykes, who went undrafted in 2015, signed a two-year contract with the Pacers last month after a strong season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA G League. The contract became guaranteed this season when Sykes was not waived prior to the 5 p.m. EST deadline on Friday.

The 28-year-old is averaging 10.4 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in five games since joining the team. He has started in each of the last three games for the Pacers and is averaging 16.7 points, 5.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds over that span.

Brooklyn Nets player grades: Kyrie Irving impresses in return as Nets come back to beat Pacers

The Brooklyn Nets came back from down 19 points to win in guard Kyrie Irving’s season debut.

The Brooklyn Nets stormed back from down 19 points to beat the Indiana Pacers 129-121 in guard Kyrie Irving’s return to action. The Nets survived a rough first half to get the comeback win at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Nets improved to 24-12 with the win and broke a three-game losing skid in the process.

Brooklyn’s defense struggled in the first half, allowing 73 points in the opening 24 minutes. They struggled to stop the Pacers in the paint, allowing Indiana to shoot 16-for-22 on two-point attempts in the first half and 10-for-20 from three. Stephenson and Domantas Sabonis combined for 42 first-half points, 20 of which came on a first-quarter shooting display from Lance Stephenson in his return to Indiana. Sabonis finished with his third career triple-double against the Nets, with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Stephenson finished with 30.

The defense was much improved in the second half as they outscored Indiana 69 to 48 en route to the comeback win. Brooklyn feasted inside the arc as well, shooting 22-for-27 on two-point attempts in the second half. Even without the benefit of a consistent outside game, the Nets were able to rally for the win.

Here are some player grades from the Nets’ win over Indiana.
