Indiana started to get on track by winning back-to-back games Feb. 11 and 13, but lost 120-112 in overtime to the Chicago Bulls as 4.5-point home favorites Monday. The Pacers are just 3-5 straight up and against the spread this month due largely to their poor rebounding.
The Timberwolves are just 2-7 straight up this month but have a 6-2-1 ATS record. Though Minnesota lost and couldn’t cover against the Los Angeles Lakers Monday, the T-Wolves did hang in the game despite the 8-point final margin.
The Pacers won both meetings with the ‘Wolves last season but they each covered a game.

Money line (ML)
Slight lean on TIMBERWOLVES (+155) for a tiny wager because Minnesota plus the points is a much better wager.

Against the spread (ATS)
The line movement is the first thing I noticed when handicapping this game. According to Pregame.com, close to 80% of the action is on the Pacers to cover; however, bookmakers are making Indiana cheaper. The only reason for that is the House wants pro-Pacers money and we don’t want to play into the House’s trap.
Also, Minnesota has a winning ATS record (14-13-1) despite being in the cellar of the Western Conference. T-Wolves C Karl-Anthony Towns returned to action four games ago, SG Malik Beasley is averaging an efficient 20.6 points per game and No. 1 overall pick SG Anthony Edwards is coming off a career-high 28-point performance against the Lakers Monday.
Lastly, Indiana’s rebounding troubles have led to the Pacers ranking 29th in opponent’s second-chance points per game. My read is KAT’s interior presence and Edwards crashing the glass is going create havoc, which will lead to a bunch of second-chance points for Minnesota.
BET TIMBERWOLVES +4.5 (-105) heavier or instead of the money line.
Over/Under (O/U)
PASS ON THE TOTAL. I’m going to use my Pacers-Timberwolves budget on the above markets instead. For what it’s worth, the sharp side of the market is taking the Under while the average Joe is betting the Over.
