Georgia Tech QB in postgame interview: ‘THWG’

Georgia Tech QB James Graham kicked off the trash talk with UGA football.

Quarterback James Graham and Georgia Tech (3-8) took down NC State (4-7) Thursday night in Atlanta.

For the Yellow Jackets, you’d think they had just won the College Football Playoff after seeing the reactions from the players and fans on social media and in Bobby Dodd Stadium.

But in reality, the Jackets beat a Wolfpack team that came into the game with a 4-6 record.

Next week, Clean Old-Fashioned Hate is resumed for the 114th time when Georgia travels to Atlanta to play Tech.

Despite its 3-8 record, Tech is sounding awfully confident with the Bulldogs looming on the schedule.

Following a 28-26 win over NC State, Tech quarterback James Graham, who did in-fact have a nice game on Thursday, kicked off the trash talk between the Dawgs and Jackets in a postgame interview with FOX5’s Cody Chaffins.

“I’m ready for next week,” Graham said. “We’re going to show the world what’s up and hopefully we’ll get a win next week too.”

When asked what next week is going to mean to him, Graham said:

“THWG. To hell with Georgia.”

A meaningless Georgia Tech buzzer-beater long three turned into a horrendous bad beat

Brutal.

What a year for bad beats it’s been, eh?

There was the 49ers touchdown last week, a South Carolina touchdown against Alabama in September, a Cowboys defensive TD … and now this one from Georgia and Georgia Tech on Wednesday night.

Let’s set the situation: Georgia was up at home 82-75 against Georgia Tech with the last three seconds ticking down. Bettors had either Georgia at minus-4.5 or -5.5, so the Bulldogs were covering as the game was about to end.

But then Michael Devoe decided to heave from just in front of halfcourt at the buzzer. Swish. Final score: 82-78.

Oh no. Oh NOOOOOO!

You know what came next:

The funny thing is there’s a fan in the front row who has a shocked reaction. Did that mean that person had money on this one? Oof.

Georgia men’s basketball to wear special uniforms vs. Georgia Tech?

Is Georgia basketball rocking throwbacks vs. Georgia Tech Wednesday?

Georgia men’s basketball will host in-state rival Georgia Tech Wednesday in a battle of undefeated teams at Stegeman Coliseum.

While neither side is ranked, it is still a big-time game with bragging rights and the ability to gain momentum on the line.

We cannot confirm anything, but based off a couple factors, it looks like the Dawgs will be rocking their beloved throwback jerseys against the Yellow Jackets when they take the court Wednesday.

Our evidence?

  • The first 1,250 students through the doors receive a throwback Dominique Wilkins ‘shersey’ per GeorgiaDogs.com.

  • Georgia has also posted a throwback-style gameday graphic with the old-school jerseys, mentioning Clean Old-Fashioned Hate.

  • The Dawgs broke out the newly updated throwback threads a few times last season, while playing at home.

  • The jerseys look like they will be back, based off 2020 prospects taking recruiting visit pictures in them.

Of course, nothing here is official, but we have a good feeling Georgia comes out donning the Wilkins-era threads.

If we’re right, remember who called it from the beginning. If we’re wrong, well, we never said anything was official.

Regardless of the uniform, it’s always fun to Hate Tech and beat up on little brother. Make sure to come out to Stegeman Coliseum tonight and cheer on the Dawgs! If you cannot make the game, it will be televised on SEC Network + and broadcast on 680 The Fan.

Go Dawgs!
