Everything Brian Kelly said about Jayden Daniels, LSU’s big win over Georgia State

Brian Kelly discussed Jayden Daniels’ Heisman candidacy among other topics after the game.

LSU coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] seemed to use Saturday night’s game against Georgia State as a showcase for [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag]’ Heisman candidacy.

In the Tigers’ 56-14 win over the Panthers, Daniels totaled eight touchdowns, matching the SEC record set by [autotag]Joe Burrow[/autotag] back in 2019, in addition to surpassing 600 yards of total offense.

Daniels now looks to be in a possible two-man race for the Heisman Trophy alongside Bo Nix, who had a big game of his own Saturday. A statistically dominant game from Daniels may ultimately go a long way.

Here’s everything Kelly said about Daniels’ performance as well as that of the rest of the team after the game.

Reactions as Jayden Daniels delivers another Heisman-worthy performance in win over Georgia State

Jayden Daniels tied the program record with eight total touchdowns on Saturday night.

LSU sits at 8-3 on the year after a 56-14 win over Georgia State and well outside the College Football Playoff picture.

It’s becoming harder to hold that against quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag], however, as he delivered yet another performance on Saturday night that makes it clear he deserves to be on that Heisman stage next month.

It was clear the Tigers were trying to pad Daniels’ stats a bit, and the result was an eight total touchdown game (six passing, two rushing) as he tied Joe Burrow’s program record for touchdowns in a game.

Here’s how the internet reacted as Daniels turned in another Heisman-caliber performance.

Five takeaways from LSU’s win over Georgia State

Here are five takeaways from LSU’s blowout win over Georgia State.

LSU picked up its eighth win of the year on Saturday night, thrashing Georgia State 56-14.

Despite the high total from LSU, it was the first time all year the under hit in an LSU game. It was another big night for Heisman contender [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag], who became the 11th player in FBS history to pass for 3,000 yards and run for 1,000 in a season.

The Tigers now turn their attention to Texas A&M with one game left on the regular season schedule. Sitting at 8-3, another 10-win year remains a realistic goal for [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] in Year 2.

Here are five takeaways from the win.

Instant Analysis: Jayden Daniels scores 8 total touchdowns in LSU’s blowout win over Georgia State

Jayden Daniels may have added the finishing touches to his Heisman resume on Saturday night.

[autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] may have put the final touches on his Heisman resume as LSU rolled past Georgia State 56-14 to close out the non-conference slate in Week 12.

Daniels accumulated eight total touchdowns (six passing, two rushing), falling one shy of the program record, and accounted for 509 total yards including more than 400 through the air.

He completed 25 of 30 passes, and he spread the ball around well. Three LSU receivers went over 140 yards in [autotag]Malik Nabers[/autotag] (140 yards, 2 touchdowns), [autotag]Brian Thomas Jr.[/autotag] (103, 1) and [autotag]Kyren Lacy[/autotag] (101, 2).

The Tigers had some issues defensively in the first half but tightened them up in the second, pitching a shutout in the final two quarters.

It was the kind of performance you’d hope to see against a Sun Belt opponent, and LSU will look to wrap up the regular season at 9-3 when it hosts Texas A&M to close things out next week.

How to watch LSU face Georgia State in final non-conference game in Week 12

Jayden Daniels will look to add to his Heisman case as LSU hosts a 6-4 Sun Belt team.

After delivering an offensive explosion in last week’s home win over Florida, LSU has the week off from SEC play as it wraps up its non-conference slate with a contest against Georgia State at Tiger Stadium.

The Panthers out of the Sun Belt enter this game at 6-4 overall. They began the year 4-0 but have had their share of struggles since, losing four of their last six. They struggle against the pass, and it could be another opportunity for [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] to pad his Heisman resume.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow as LSU takes on Georgia State on Saturday night in Week 12.

LSU Wire Roundtable: Staff predictions as Tigers take on Georgia State in Week 12

The Tigers face what should be a tuneup on Saturday night against Georgia State.

After bouncing back with one of the most prolific offensive performances in program history against Florida, LSU is looking to make it two in a row as the Tigers host Georgia State in what should be a tuneup against a Sun Belt team on Saturday night.

The Panthers are 6-4 on the season having dropped four of their last six after starting the year 4-0. Now, they’re looking to pull another colossal upset against an SEC team after beating Tennessee in 2019 and giving Auburn a run for its money in 2021.

Here’s how our staff sees Saturday night’s game against Georgia State playing out.

6 LSU true freshmen who could see more time against Georgia State

Here are some true freshmen that could see more time if LSU makes it a blow out on Saturday.

LSU closes out its non-conference schedule by hosting Georgia State on Saturday night.

The Tigers are heavy favorites and have fared well against the Group of Five in Brian Kelly’s tenure.

If this game follows a similar script to LSU’s other non-Power Five contests this year, the Tigers could get up big quickly, giving some true freshmen ample opportunity to get on the field.

With the playoff out of the picture, LSU could benefit from gaining a deeper understanding of its younger personnel.

Here are some true freshmen who could see increased playing time on Saturday night.
