Six Georgia Bulldogs are competing in the 2024 Masters, which will be held from April 11-14

The University of Georgia has the most golfers of any college competing in the PGA Tour. Additionally, Georgia has the most players of any college competing at the 2024 Masters.

Bubba Watson is the last Georgia Bulldog to win the Masters. Watson, who has two wins at the Masters, last won the event in 2014. Brian Harman is the last Bulldog to win a major. Harman recently took home The 2023 Open Championship.

Georgia softball plummets in NCAA power rankings

UGA softball drops several spots in latest NCAA power rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs softball team has dropped in the latest edition of the NCAA’s softball power rankings. Georgia is now ranked No. 9 after going 2-2 over the last week.

Georgia is 31-8 on the season with ton of quality wins. However, Georgia has struggled some as of late. The Bulldogs, who are 7-5 in conference play, have lost their last two SEC series to Tennessee and Arkansas. Georgia lost two of three games to both Tennessee and Arkansas.

Michella Chester explained why she dropped Georgia from the third-ranked to the ninth-ranked softball team in her top-10 power rankings.

Georgia takes a big fall after their second straight SEC series loss. First to Arkansas and now to Tennessee.

Georgia softball’s next game is at home against Georgia State at 6:00 p.m. ET on April 10. After that, Georgia play at Kentucky, who is 24-14 this season, in a three-game SEC series from Friday to Sunday.

Two experts predict Georgia Bulldogs to land four-star edge rusher

On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have both officially predicted the Bulldogs as the favorite to land a highly rated edge rusher

Coming off of a visit to Athens this past weekend, multiple projections have been logged in favor of a highly touted class of 2025 recruit landing with the Georgia Bulldogs. On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have both officially predicted edge rusher Darren Ikinnagbon to commit to UGA.

“From the staff, to the vibe, to meeting Coach Smart and talking ball, seeing how UGA wants to utilize him, those are all enticing things to Ikinnagbon,” noted Wiltfong. Simmons added, “Since visiting Georgia for the first time, the Bulldogs have been viewed as the team to beat.” Penn State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame are also heavily involved in Ikinnagbon’s recruitment.

Ikinnagbon is listed as a 6-foot-5, 251-pound edge rusher/defensive lineman out of Hillside, New Jersey. In addition to football, he also wrestles and has experience running track and playing basketball at Hillside High School. He finished his junior season with 52 tackles, 13 tackles-for-loss, and five sacks for the year. He would join Stephon Shivers as the second defensive line recruit in the Bulldogs’ current class of 2025.

Third UGA basketball player enters the transfer portal

A third Georgia basketball contributor enters the transfer portal.

After losing two contributors to the transfer portal earlier on April 8, yet another player has opted to depart from the Georgia basketball program. Forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe announced via his Instagram that he will be entering the transfer portal.

Moncrieffe, listed at 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, started 26 games in his first year at Georgia in the 2022-2023 season, scoring 5.5 points per game as well as contributing 5.1 rebounds per game. However, his minutes declined this past season as he only recorded 1.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, with a high of six points against North Carolina Central near the start of the season.

Moncrieffe had previously played college basketball at Oklahoma State prior to transferring to UGA. He started 21 games for the Cowboys over two years, including a game in his freshman year against the Iowa State Cyclones in which he recorded a career-high 22 points and 12 rebounds. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Moncrieffe joins point guard Justin Hill, Georgia’s assist leader, and forward Jalen Deloach in entering the transfer portal.

Four years into his UGA career, one speedy Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver has been generating a lot of buzz this spring

Four years into his Georgia Bulldogs career, one Georgia wide receiver has been garnering a lot of buzz regarding his development this spring. Arian Smith has reportedly developed his skillset to a new level this spring, and coupled with his experience, he could be one of the top weapons for quarterback Carson Beck in 2024.

Kirby Smart recently commented on Smith’s progress, saying, “I think we’ve made a concerted effort to spend more time on developing Arian…We’ve taken some of those times that he’s invested four years in special teams work, and we’ve allowed him to really grow as a wideout. I think it’s helped him do that.”

Smith has made his presence known this spring, hauling in a pair of explosive catches in both of Georgia’s scrimmages so far.

Smith has mostly been used as a vertical threat for the Bulldogs over his four years in Athens, averaging nearly 27 yards per catch. He started two games for the Dawgs a season ago, catching eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 20 targets. However, he came on strong with a catch in every game at the end of the year, including a 51-yard deep ball against Alabama and a touchdown in the Orange Bowl against Florida State.

Smith has also received praise from his teammates, including starting receiver Dominic Lovett, who referred to him as “the spark-plug” of the receiving room.  As the Dawgs seek to replace Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Smith’s emergence could prove to be a major difference in the offensive outlook for 2024.

UGA baseball falls out of baseball poll after losing series to Mississippi State

The Georgia Bulldogs have dropped from the top-25 rankings after losing their most recent series at Mississippi State. Georgia received 45 votes in the April 8 edition of the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll. The Bulldogs would be ranked No. 29 based on the number of votes they received.

Georgia baseball went 1-2 over the weekend in a controversial series against Mississippi State that featured multiple ejections. Star infielder/outfielder Charlie Condon continues to shine for Georgia. Condon has 20 home runs and 42 RBIs this season.

Georgia head coach Wes Johnson is off to a solid start in his first season with the Bulldogs. Georgia is 5-7 in SEC play and 24-8 on the season.

The SEC has five of the eight top teams in the country in Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. The SEC is looking like baseball’s strongest conference.

Arkansas remains the No. 1 team in the country. Georgia baseball’s next game is against Kennesaw State at Foley Field in Athens, Georgia, at 5:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 9. The Bulldogs play a series at home against Missouri from Thursday to Saturday.

Pair of Georgia players to reportedly enter transfer portal

According to reports, a pair of Georgia Bulldogs basketball players have entered the transfer portal in Justin Hill and Jalen DeLoach.

Hill, a senior, has spent the last two seasons in Athens where he has started in a combined 13-of-69 games for the Bulldogs. This past season, Hill started 3-of-37 games for Georgia, averaging 9.5 PPG, 1.7 RPG, and 3.2 APG on 37.9% shooting from the field, 33.3% from three, and 70.1% from the free throw line.

As for DeLoach, the junior started 6-of-32 games this past season at Georgia after transferring into the program from VCU. Across that span, DeLoach averaged 3.6 PPG and 3.3 RPG on 53.5% shooting from the field, as well as 65.7% from the free throw line.

Hill and DeLoach are now the first two Georgia players to enter the transfer portal so far this offseason off the Bulldogs team that finished 20-17 to make a deep run in the NIT. Will any others potentially follow?

Second Georgia basketball player enters the transfer portal

Following the announcement regarding the transfer of Jalen Deloach, a second UGA basketball contributor has entered the portal.

Following the transfer announcement of Jalen Deloach this morning, the Georgia basketball roster shakeup continued into the afternoon. Guard Justin Hill has entered the transfer portal after his second season at Georgia.

Hill started 13 games over the past two years at Georgia and was a consistent contributor, averaging 9.5 points per game and 3.2 assists per game a season ago, including a 21-point performance against Wake Forest in the National Invitational Tournament. He had a memorable moment this season when he hit a game-winning shot to beat Florida State. Georgia will miss Hill’s efficient passing and playmaking ability.

Hill is listed at 6 feet and 185 pounds, and he is a native of Richmond, Texas. Prior to arriving in Athens, he played his first two seasons at Longwood, where he started 40 games over two years. During his sophomore season he averaged 14.2 points per game and Longwood won the Big South en route to an NCAA Tournament bid. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Georgia basketball contributor plans to enter transfer portal

Georgia basketball has officially seen their first likely departure of the 2024 offseason via the transfer portal.

The Georgia Bulldogs have officially seen their first expected departure of the offseason via the NCAA transfer portal. Forward Jalen Deloach will reportedly be entering the portal after one season at Georgia, which he confirmed this afternoon on X.

Deloach averaged 12.8 minutes per game as a contributor for the Dawgs this season, scoring 3.6 points per game along with 3.3 rebounds per game. He figures to target a school where he can compete for a bigger role in the rotation. He is a second-time transfer, having previously started 32 games in his second and final year at Virginia Commonwealth, where he averaged 9.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game on a team that won the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

This leaves Georgia with nine scholarship players who are eligible to return for next season, including four starters. More moves both in and out of the program are expected as Georgia looks to enter year four under Mike White with a more talented lineup.

Former NFL GM names Georgia Bulldogs WR as NFL draft sleeper

Former Minnesota Vikings general manager names Georgia Bulldogs WR draft sleeper, compares him to Packers standout receiver

Former Minnesota Viking general manager (2012-2021) Rick Spielman has named former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint as one of his 2024 NFL draft sleepers.

“Someone may hit on him late in the draft. He’s going to make big plays that you don’t expect coming from him,” Spielman said.

Rosemy-Jacksaint brings an impressive combination of size, hands and catch radius to the table. He showed excellent consistency throughout his college career and improved every season.

Spielman considers the 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver to be a late Saturday pick (fifth-round or later). He likes Rosemy-Jacksaint’s athleticism and what he can do after the catch.

Spielman compares Rosemy-Jacksaint to Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, which is high praise. Wicks, a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, recorded 581 receiving yards and four touchdowns as a rookie.

The former Georgia standout helped his NFL draft stock thanks to an impressive week at the Senior Bowl. Rosemy-Jacksaint scored a 29-yard touchdown in the Senior Bowl on a contested catch.

During his final season in Athens, Rosemy-Jacksaint caught 34 passes for 535 yards and four touchdowns. The senior receiver has proved to be a reliable target for Georgia football and rarely dropped passes. Rosemy-Jacksaint is also an excellent run blocker. He finished his four-year Georgia  career with 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns.
