Terrell Owens blisters sub-4.5 40 at 48 years old

Terrell Owens still can jet when it comes to running a 40

Terrell Owens is 48 years old and continues to defy time.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer sizzled in a 40-yard dash on Wednesday and the stopwatch didn’t reach 4.5 seconds when T.O. crossed the finish line.

FCF is calling it a sub-4.5 sprint but one clocker caught the great wide receiver in 4.38.

No matter what the actual time was, Owens still has plenty of speed in those dynamic legs.

Five players the Browns should look at from the FCF

The Fan Controlled Football league is interesting. As the Browns leave no stone unturned, here @joshkeatley16 has five players from the #FCF they should look at:

Fan Controlled Football is like the Arena Football League on steroids and the indoor football league has a few stars like Johnny Manziel, Terrell Owens and Terrence Williams, but they have yet to have someone make a name in the NFL after making an impact in the FCF. The league has now completed its second season and my money is on a few of these players earning NFL checks.

The front office in Cleveland does a great job of turning over every stone for possible play-makers and they churn the bottom of their roster more often and effectively than most NFL teams. A few of these prospects would be worth a deeper look.

A former Clemson football player took home Most Valuable Player honors after impressing with his performance in a championship game on Saturday night.

Former Tiger quarterback Kelly Bryant was named Finals MVP of the People’s Championship in the Fan Controlled Football league after leading the Zappers to a 42-24 win over the Bored Ape FC.

Bryant completed 11 of 13 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown with one interception while rushing for 58 yards and three more scores on the ground.

That effort propelled the Zappers to the championship following an 0-4 start to the season.

“Really just getting over the hump, just getting that first win, that was the biggest thing for us,” Bryant said, via LX.com’s Mike Gavin. “Once we got that, we got on a run. We knew we had the right guys on the offensive side, we had a chance to be really explosive. We put together a great week and you see what happens when a team puts all that together.”

Bryant played for the Tigers from 2015-18 and graduated from Clemson before transferring to Missouri during the 2018 season to finish out his college career.

He started for Clemson in 2017 and led the team to an undefeated regular season, ACC Championship and appearance in the College Football Playoff.

You can see some of Bryant’s highlights from the FCF People’s Championship below:

Former Clemson QB wins MVP in championship game of 7-on-7 league

One of Clemson’s former starting quarterbacks won a championship in a 7-on-7 league Saturday night, leading his team to a double-digit victory.

Former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant is still having success on the football field.

Playing in the Fan Controlled Football (FCF) league, the 25-year-old Bryant led the Zappers to a championship on Saturday, defeating the Bored Apes, 42-24. In the championship game, Bryant completed 84.6% of his passes for 114 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing for 58 yards and three touchdowns. His four-touchdown performance led him to be crowned the MVP of the game.

Although Bryant said he fell back in love with football this year, before Saturday’s game, he told Reggie Chatman Jr. of 11Alive News that participating in the FCF wasn’t an immediate decision.

“Really when I got the call, I wasn’t really sure if I was going to come in play because, at that point, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to play football again. Didn’t know if I really wanted to,” said Bryant.

Before joining the FCF, Bryant played at Clemson from 2015 to 2018. In his one full season as Clemson’s starter in 2017, Bryant completed 65.8% of his passes for 2,802 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also added 665 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.

After losing the starting job to Trevor Lawrence in 2018, he transferred to Missouri in December of that year, where he would start in 2019 for his final collegiate season.

Former Clemson QB having success in 7-on-7 league

One of Clemson’s recent starting quarterbacks is finding success in a new league, leading his team in passing and total touchdowns.

Former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant never made it to the NFL, but that hasn’t stopped the 25-year-old from continuing his football career.

After four years with Clemson and one year with Missouri, Bryant has joined the seven-on-seven Fan Controlled Football league (FCF), which began in 2021 and allows fans to call the plays.

In his first season with the Zappers, Bryant has completed 55.6% of his passes and leads the team with 234 yards, and is also second on the team in rushing with 146 yards.

In the Zappers’ recent victory over the SB Stars on June 4, Bryant had 123 total yards and three touchdowns, one of which he scored on this five-yard rushing touchdown that gave his team a 14-0 lead.

In his one full season as Clemson’s starter in 2017, Bryant completed 65.8% of his passes for 2,802 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also added 665 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. After Trevor Lawrence took over as the Tigers’ starting signal-caller, Bryant eventually transferred to Missouri, where he threw for over 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns in 10 games.

Now in the FCF, Bryant and other former college football stars, such as 2012 Heisman winner Johnny Manziel, have another platform to showcase their skills on the football field.

Todd Gurley joins ownership group in start-up football league

Former Georgia Bulldogs and Los Angeles Rams star running back Todd Gurley has joined the ownership group for a Fan Controlled Football team

Former Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Los Angeles Rams star running back Todd Gurley has joined the ownership group for the Beasts, a Fan Controlled Football (FCF) team. The Beasts ownership group includes former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters, former WNBA star Renee Montgomery, and WWE wrestler Miro.

The Beasts are 2-4 this season in FCF. All games of FCF are played in Atlanta, Georgia, at Pullman Yards. Fans have a large influence on the league and can impact play calls, instant replays, and more.

The FCF played its inaugural season in 2021. Games are streamed on Twitch and a variety of other platforms, which gives the league a much different target audience than the USFL, which is a top competitor for the FCF.

Todd Gurley remains unsigned as an NFL free agent. Gurley is still investing in football and in the Atlanta area with his decision to join the Beasts’ ownership group.

Terrell Owens part of first trade in Fan Controlled Football history

Terrell Owens is on the move in Fan Controlled Football, a piece of the first trade

Fan Controlled Football hoped to get a lot out of Terrell Owens and Johnny Manziel on the Zappers in the league’s second season. It didn’t pan out and now T.O. is on the move in the first trade in league history.

The three-team trade — the first deal of any kind in league history — is taking place between the Knights, Zappers and Beasts:

The details:

Knights:
Trade – QB Dentarrius Yon + WR Isiah King
Receive – WR Terrell Owens + WR Jacoby Herring

Zappers
Trade – WR Terrell Owens + Picks 1 & 16 this week
Receive – QB Jason Stewart, WR Isiah King + Picks 5 & 12 this week

Beasts
Trade – QB Jason Stewart + WR Jacoby Herring + Picks 5 & 12 this week
Receive – QB Dentarrius Yon + Picks 1 & 16 this week

What is interesting is the explanation from fcf.io on Manziel in the comments on the trade:

Zappers – with the injury to Kelly Bryant and Johnny Manziel’s spotty attendance, we need a QB to have any chance to climb back into contention the last few weeks. Stew is the best available QB out there and King is a solid WR to play alongside Terrance Williams.

Of course, given the fans have a huge say in everything that goes on when it comes to weekly rosters and play-calling, there could be a hiccup. Each team will have a vote to accept the trade and if a 70% supermajority of the fans reject it, then the trade will not go through.

It would seem the Zappers need any and all help they can get in FCF. They are the lone winless team after four games.

A former Clemson wide receiver was cut by a professional team this week now that he is playing in a new league.

The Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League announced Tuesday they have released Martavis Bryant. Bryant’s release came just a few days after he joined the Beasts, a team in the Fan Controlled Football league.

Bryant never saw any game action with the Elks after signing with the team in February. The former Tiger and NFL wideout’s rights were owned by the Toronto Argonauts in 2021, when he spent the season on the club’s suspended list after not reporting to training camp.

Bryant most recently played in the NFL in 2018 with the then-Oakland Raiders and was suspended indefinitely by the league that season after repeated violations of the league’s substance abuse policy.

Originally a fourth-round pick (118th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bryant tallied 145 catches for 2,183 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns while playing for the Steelers and the Raiders from 2014-18.

The Calhoun Falls, S.C. native played at Clemson from 2011-13, recording 61 receptions for 1,354 yards and 13 touchdowns along with a 17-yard carry and 291 yards on 14 kickoff returns over 37 games (13 starts) in his career. As a junior in 2013, he had 42 receptions for 828 yards and seven touchdowns along with two kickoff returns for 36 yards over 13 games (11 starts).

Johnny Manziel throws TD pass to Terrell Owens in FCF game

Johnny Manziel connected with Terrell Owens for a touchdown in FCF

A Heisman Trophy winner threw a touchdown pass to a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

It didn’t take long for Johnny Manziel to find Terrell Owens in Fan Controlled Football action in Atlanta.

It was in the first quarter and the Heisman winner from Texas A&M found the 48-year-old NFL great.

T.O. told Manziel what pattern he wanted to run and how it would work.

This highlight will be everywhere.

Manziel showed he still has some life — and lithe — in his legs.

Terrell Owens scores touchdown in Fan Controlled Football loss

Terrell Owens scored a TD in his Fan Controlled Football debut

The result for the Zappers wasn’t what they hoped. However, Fan Controlled Football got the highlight it wanted Saturday in Atlanta as the league started its second season.

Late in the game, Owens ran a pass route to the end zone and the football found him as it did so many times in the NFL.

It was the first catch for the Pro Football Hall of Famer in the fledgling league and the 48-year-old looked stylish doing it.

T.O. was offering lessons to a quarterback during the game.

Owens took the loss in stride when interviewed postgame by Charly Arnolt.

Johnny Manziel did not play for the Zappers in the contest.
