Wisconsin class of 2025 wide receiver commit erupts for Zionsville High School

Wisconsin’s highly-touted class of 2025 wide receiver commit Eugene Hilton Jr. shined once again for Zionsville High School over the weekend.

After snagging a pair of touchdown passes in the 31-20 loss to Pike High School on Aug. 23, Hilton Jr. pocketed nine catches for 152 yards and three scores against Lawrence Central High School in his second week as a senior.

Hilton Jr. displayed his entire offensive repertoire throughout the stellar performance. Whether it be maneuvering around defenders on the edge to gain yards after the catch or zooming past cornerbacks to secure long passes and everything in between, Hilton Jr. can quite literally do everything at the position for a high schooler.

To some, his ability as a pass-catcher is no surprise. The son of former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, Hilton Jr. is considered the No. 409 player in the class of 2025, No. 62 wide receiver and No. 7 recruit from his home state of Indiana by 247Sports.

Prior to committing to Luke Fickell’s crew in June, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout fielded offers from units like Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Missouri, Kansas and Purdue during his recruiting process.

Unfortunately for those programs, their cornerbacks will line up opposite Hilton Jr. beginning in the fall of 2025. If he continues to dominate at this pace, he could earn a rotational spot in a matter of weeks at UW.

Wisconsin top-ranked class of 2025 wide receiver commit Eugene Hilton shined for Zionsville High School on Friday.

The touted rising senior snagged a pair of touchdown passes in the 31-20 loss to Pike High School. His most impressive sequence arrived on his second end zone snag, a play in which he employed his frame and strength to elevate over his defender before reeling in the pass at his highest point.

Hilton Jr., the son of former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, has orchestrated a relatively busy week to kick-start his senior campaign. The two-touchdown output arrives just three days after Zionsville named him one of four captains for the crew’s 2024 slate.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout committed to Luke Fickell’s program during UW’s third recruiting window this summer (June 14) over other finalists Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Missouri, Kansas and Purdue. He and three-star wide receiver Cameron Miller remain the sole 2025 wideouts committed to Wisconsin through Aug. 24.

247Sports currently considers Hilton the No. 409 player in the class of 2025, No. 62 wide receiver and No. 7 recruit from his home state of Indiana. If he continues to showcase his dexterity throughout the season, those numbers will surely rise before he steps foot onto Camp Randall’s turf next summer.

Wisconsin football top-ranked class of 2025 wide receiver commit Eugene Hilton Jr. was named one of Zionsville High School’s team captains ahead of the 2024 season on Wednesday.

Hilton was named one of four captains for the crew this week, earning the honor alongside seniors Deiter Hartwig, Max Phenicie and Chase Wilson.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout committed to Wisconsin on June 14 over other finalists Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Missouri, Kansas and Purdue. He and three-star wide receiver Cameron Miller are the only 2025 wideouts committed to Luke Fickell’s program thus far.

Nonetheless, Hilton’s high school portfolio is nothing short of impressive. The four-star receiver is 247Sports’ No. 408 player in the class of 2025, No. 62 wide receiver and No. 7 recruit from his home state of Indiana.

The Zionsville, Indiana native is also the son of former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who finished his 11-year NFL career with nearly 10,000 receiving yards off 638 receptions for the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys.

Hilton’s nomination as team captain not only speaks to his capabilities on the gridiron, but it also alludes to his character as a rising senior.

Unlike other prospects who concoct commitment videos with multiple collegiate hats on a table before them, Hilton’s decision day was both simplistic and exciting.

During his video, the wide out appeared genuinely thrilled to become a Badger alongside his family members while House of Pain’s ‘Jump Around’ blared in the background.

Next fall, Hilton will arrive in Madison as one of the more high-profile prospects on UW’s offensive depth chart.

Former Wisconsin football legends J.J. Watt and Jonathan Taylor reacted to top-ranked class of 2025 wide receiver Eugene Hilton Jr.’s UW commitment on Friday via social media.

It’s safe to say both Taylor and Watt were excited about Wisconsin landing the four-star receiver, who became the program’s 19th overall commitment in the class and second wide receiver.

Hilton Jr. is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 395 player in the class of 2025, No. 63 wide receiver and No. 7 recruit from his home state of Indiana. His commitment comes after visiting the Badgers on June 7 — marking yet another win from the official visit season. It elevated the Badgers’ class of 2025 to No. 5 in the nation, per Rivals.

Hilton, the son of four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver TY Hilton, chose the Badgers over other finalists Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Missouri, Kansas and Purdue.

Here is what Taylor and Watt posted on X on Friday:

Watt was a Lott IMPACT Trophy winner, team MVP and consensus first-team All-Big Ten team member at Wisconsin. He went on to enjoy a storied 12-year NFL career with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals.

The Pewaukee, Wisconsin native reeled in three Defensive Player of the Year awards, five All-Pro selections and a spot on the Hall of Fame All-2010s Team as a professional.

A teammate T.Y Hilton in Indianapolis, Taylor enjoyed similar success during his collegiate tenure. The running back was a two-time Doak Walker Award winner, Walter Camp Player of the Year finalist, Maxwell Award semifinalist, Lombardi Award semifinalist, unanimous first-team All-America  at Wisconsin.

Both Watt and Taylor are obviously familiar with the Hilton family and appear ecstatic for Luke Fickell’s program following the commitment. With several batches of official visits remaining on the Badgers’ summer slate, Wisconsin will look to build on an already spectacular 2025 cycle.

Three-star class of 2025 wide receiver has Badgers in top 6

Three-star WR could pick Wisconsin

Eugene Hilton Jr., a three-star class of 2025 wide receiver from Zionsville, Indiana, listed the Badgers in his top six potential collegiate programs. Wisconsin offered the 6-foot-1, 175-pound athlete in July and he still has one more years (counting this year) of high school football before he’ll potentially make the leap to college football.

Hilton Jr. did not list any other Big Ten schools in his top six while the SEC had three teams make the list with Ole Miss, Kentucky and Missouri being listed.

To this point, only three-star quarterback Landyn Locke (Rockwall, TX) and three-star safety Remington Moss (Fredericksburg, VA) have committed to Wisconsin.
