Ecco Golf releases new Biom Tour shoe with updated technology

The new Ecco Biom Tour features all of the brand’s signature technology.

Ecco Golf is always searching for innovative ways to enhance its golf footwear line and recently released the new Ecco Biom Tour, which features all of the brand’s signature technology.

The new shoe has Ecco’s Biom Natural Motion technology with a spiked sole design. The Pivix spikes have additional grooves on the outsole to ensure traction and stability throughout the swing.

The light Phorene midsole delivers bounce and energy return to help when you are walking or swinging.

Just in time for the colder months, the shoe features a waterproof membrane to keep the feet dry and comfortable in all weather. Ecco’s Fluidform Direct Comfort Technology maintain a flexible and durable cushion bond without the compromises common with stitched or glue assemblies.

The Biom Tour’s TPU outsole is durable, and the cushioned Ortholite insole is made to be removable and washable.

Ecco Golf and Erik van Rooyen have had a successful partnership for years.

Ecco Golf and Erik van Rooyen have had a successful partnership for years, and they have come together to redesign and showcase van Rooyen’s passion for fashion and music through the new Biom H4 shoe.

Last summer, the duo launched the first edition of EVR’s signature shoe. The revamped design is equally striking and eye-catching with hints of the South African’s love for guitar, his iconic jogger pants and his famous mustache.

“I’m very excited to once again join forces with Ecco Golf to create another signature edition style,” said van Rooyen. “The previous version that we created together was super cool, and I received plenty of compliments out on tour. I didn’t think it would be possible to top those, but with this new model I think we’ve done exactly that.”

The Biom H4 features an updated leather upper, specifically around the toe area to produce a slimmer look, while the tongue has been entirely redesigned to produce a more ergonomic shape that fits more comfortably to the foot.

This shoe continues to feature the Biom 2.0 last and the Biom Natural Motion Technology to helps the foot move naturally, close to the ground and forms like a second skin around the foot.

The Ecco MTN Grip outsole includes three sections to provide a blend of traction, stability and rotational support. Ecco’s popular Fluidform Direct Comfort Technology allows for a high level of cushioning and rebound support.

From the outsole to the midsole, the shoe features X-Tensa technology, which connects the TPU element on the side of the Biom H4 with the lace system to enhance lateral stability.

The Biom H4 is 100 percent waterproof and breathable using Ecco’s Gore-Tex technology that keeps feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.

This is the first endeavor of its kind in the US for Ecco and the space will allow the company to develop relationships with wholesalers, vendors, designers, and other enthusiasts.

Ecco was founded in 1963 and its open-door philosophy stands to this day. The studio will welcome industry allies to learn more about innovations in sustainability and material technologies relevant to Ecco’s specialties.

Ecco held a media event at the studio where journalists and other personalities in the golf and fashion space were invited to learn more about Ecco’s technology and business.

Ecco Golf has teamed up with ambassadors Henrik Stenson and Erik van Rooyen to create custom versions of the Ecco Biom H4 shoe. Both Stenson and Rooyen have designed their own unique take on the shoe, reflecting their individual styles and personalities.

Stenson has helped design another ultra-cool ‘Iceman’ shoe in an ice-cold blue and white colorway. The shoe also has his signature trademark tag reading, “Henrik Stenson The Iceman.”

“Ecco Golf is synonymous with crafting fantastic shoes, and it’s super cool that they continue to give me the chance to help create my own styles. I have stuck with the icy-cool colors for my Biom H4, and I really wanted to make it look like you’re walking with ice on the sole of your shoe, hence the bright white and blue colors,” said Stenson.

As for van Rooyen, who is known for his eye-catching stylish looks on Tour, he has designed a striking patterned shoe. His Biom H4 features a black insole, white leather outer and patterned finish on the midsole with pops of blue and orange.
