4-star offensive lineman sets official visit to LSU

Blue-chip prospect D.J. Chester will be on campus this weekend.

[autotag]DJ Chester[/autotag], a blue-chip offensive lineman from Georgia, has set an official visit with LSU and will head to Baton Rouge this weekend.

Rebuilding the offensive line has been a priority for the Tigers for some time now. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Chester is the 18th best tackle in the class of 2023 and ranks 187th overall.

Chester recently took a visit to Auburn, which remains heavily involved in his recruitment. As it stands, coach Bryan Harsin’s team could be considered the favorite, though the race is far from over.

LSU’s class of 2023 sits at five commitments, but it has yet to nab any offensive or defensive lineman. Chester would be a big get for coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and offensive line coach [autotag]Brad Davis[/autotag].

The Tigers landed a decent offensive line class last cycle, but that will have to continue if they want to get back to where they should be.

Four-star offensive tackle target announces top 12 schools

They are competing with Florida State, Florida A&M, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, NC State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and USC.

Auburn is looking to land several offensive linemen this recruiting class. One of their targets is four-star [autotag]DJ Chester[/autotag]. That interest is mutual as Chester included Auburn in his top 12 schools on Friday.

The Tigers will be competing with Florida State, Florida A&M, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, NC State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and USC.

Chester is from McDonough, Georgia, and is ranked as the No. 179 overall player and No. 19 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 16 player from Georgia.

Measuring in at 6-foot-5, and 295 pounds he plays football, basketball, and track and field for Eagles Landing Christian Academy. He won the Georgia A Private state championships in the shot put (47-3.25) and discus (146-6) as a sophomore.

His recruitment is far from over, Chester is very open to other schools that enter the picture and still needs to visit his top schools. However, Auburn is in a good place with Chester and is looking to turn that into a commitment.
