After he went unclaimed on waivers, running back Davin Cook is set to sign with the Baltimore Ravens ahead of AFC Playoffs
Dalvin Cook wants to win a Super Bowl, and just hours after getting waived by the New York Jets, Cook is signing with the Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore was mentioned as a potential team of interest for the former Vikings running back, who is one year removed from logging 1,400+ total yards in Minnesota.
In the 15 games he played with the Jets, Cook carried the ball only 67 times for 214 yards, a 3.2-yard average — 1.4 yards below his career mark after signing for one of the biggest running back deals this summer.
Cook is fresh, having played only 202 snaps on offense, his lowest total since his injury-shortened rookie year with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017.
He’ll join a Ravens rushing attack led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, while Gus Edwards leads the Ravens in touchdowns, and Justice Hill is a talented dual-threat.
In seven seasons, including six with the Vikings, he has 6,207 yards and 47 rushing touchdowns. In his Dec. 3 interview, Cook spoke of his time with the Jets in the past tense.
