The best signs at ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ ahead of Oregon vs. Utah

Pig farmers, Dan Lanning, and Jim Harbaugh. All three were prevalent on the signs at ‘College GameDay’ on Saturday.

One of the most time-honored traditions in college football is turning on ESPN every Saturday morning during the season and tuning into “College GameDay.” One of the things that makes it so entertaining is finding the best signs in the crowd, whether ribbing the other team or boosting their own.

With GameDay in Salt Lake City this weekend for the top-15 showdown between the No. 8 Oregon Ducks and No. 13 Utah Utes, you can expect to see a lot of both. There was a noticeable lack of bright yellow BOdacious signs, leading some to believe they might have been banned from the set, but as always, there were far too many unoriginal plays on Oregon has Zero Championships attempts.

You also got a lot of Utah-centric pig-farmer content, while several fans decided to take shots at Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh and the whole “sign stealing” scandal.

We want to shine a light on all of them, because that’s what makes college football so great. Here are the best signs that we saw at GameDay on Saturday morning:

Texas vs. TCU: Best signs from ESPN’s College Gameday

Texas fans got creative with their gameday signs this week.

ESPN’s College Gameday made their second appearance in Austin of the season for Texas’ matchup against undefeated TCU. Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and the crew last made the trip when Texas took on Alabama back in Week 2.

The No. 18 Longhorns are looking to hand No. 4 TCU its first loss of the season. A win would give Texas an inside track on playing for a Big 12 title in a potential rematch against the Frogs.

Expect no shortage of firepower from either squad in this game. Bijan Robinson (Texas), Xavier Worthy (Texas), Kendre Miller (TCU) and Quentin Johnston (TCU) are some of the best playmakers in the entire nation. Texas’ Quinn Ewers vs. TCU’s Max Duggan provide an excellent quarterback battle as well.

The gameday atmosphere was absolutely electric ahead of the top-25 Big 12 Conference showdown. Here is a look at some of the best fan-made signs spotted on the show this morning.

These 3 App State students just got free tuition from ESPN College GameDay because of their awesome signs

They put some Texas A&M tears to really good use.

It seemed a bit strange at first that literally all of the ESPN College GameDay posters available to students ahead of Saturday’s show disappeared so quickly.

It all makes sense now, though.

It turns out there was a GameDay sign competition where, if someone made a good enough sign, they could win free tuition for the year. Obviously, a lot of the students who pulled up to the set really came with it — especially when it came to making fun of Texas A&M. They were awesome.

So it makes sense that ESPN couldn’t pick just one winner. They picked 3. And they gave them this really cool moment, too.

That’s awesome stuff, man. These signs literally made these folks’ years. And all it took was for their football team to take $1.5 million from Texas A&M. We absolutely love to see it.

App State fans did everything they could to remind everyone they stole ESPN’s College GameDay and $1.5 million from Texas A&M

App State fans are absolutely brutal. Wow.

Appalachian State took everything from Texas A&M this season with their upset win over the Aggies.

Not only did App State just trample on the Aggies’ hopes for a College Football Playoff appearance this season, but they also took a whopping $1.5 million and their ESPN College GameDay appearance the following week.

GameDay was supposed to be in College Station this week, but they decided to switch it up and give App State their first-ever appearance because of their upset win. And App State was ready, too. They made sure GameDay ran out of signs to use for the show.

And those signs? They put them to use, y’all. The fans were absolutely brutal.

College GameDay signs roast Tennessee football

An Ole Miss fan took advantage of College GameDay coming to Oxford, Mississippi, and made a sign roasting Tennessee football.

A few Ole Miss fans took advantage of College GameDay coming to Oxford, Mississippi, and made signs roasting Tennessee football. Ole Miss defeated Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, 31-26 back on Oct. 16.

Tennessee fans were upset when Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels stopped Tennessee on a controversial fourth down. After a lengthy video review, replay correctly ruled that their was not enough video evidence to overturn the call.

Madness ensued. Tennessee fans threw whatever they had including: beer cans, water bottles, and more. It took a while to clean the field and calm down Tennessee fans, which caused a lengthy delay.

You would think that Tennessee fans would be used to losing tough games after going 25-31 in their last five seasons, but evidently that is not the case.

Here’s a look at the signs:

Two of the more interesting things Tennessee fans threw on the field were: a mustard bottle and a golf ball, which was aimed at Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.

Tennessee has banned a few dozen fans for throwing trash on the field during their defeat to Ole Miss. The Volunteers will hope to have a better environment for the Nov. 13 game against Georgia.

BABY YODA FOR HEISMAN!

Another week of college football means another day of hilarious signs at ESPN’s College Football GameDay. ESPN traveled to Waco, Texas for a Big 12 battle: the one-loss Oklahoma Sooners at the undefeated Baylor Bears. The game amounts to a College Football Playoff elimination game.

The other potential playoff elimination game is Georgia at Auburn. The Auburn Tigers are playoff long shots, but if they defeat both Georgia and Alabama, then they’ll have quite a case for making the final four. Additionally, the Tigers have a quality win over potential Pac-12 champion Oregon.

Here are the best signs from today’s edition of GameDay:

This sign (below) appears to be taking a shot at the Georgia Bulldogs. South Carolina upset Georgia earlier in the season, but one-loss Georgia remains ahead of undefeated Baylor, the Bears’ best non-conference win is over UTSA.

It should be another great Saturday of College Football!
