The Cleveland Browns may be without their Pro Bowl guard Wyatt Teller as he is questionable to return against the New England Patriots. With well over two quarters left to play, Hjalte Froholdt has entered the game at right guard for the Browns.

Still deadlocked at three points each despite a Myles Garrett strip sack early in the game, the offense for once is struggling to score points while the defense has stepped up early on. Working without Teller will make life even harder on this Cleveland offense as they look to climb back to .500.

With a chance he can still check back in, the Browns’ offense will work uphill for the time being.

Baker Mayfield says he’s got a broken humerus along with the torn labrum in his shoulder

Browns QB Baker Mayfield says he’s got a broken humerus along with the torn labrum in his shoulder, per Jay Glazer of FOX Sports

The speculation about the severity of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield’s injured shoulder just amped up to another level. FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reports that Mayfield has a fractured humerus bone in his left arm in addition to the torn labrum on the left (non-throwing) shoulder.

In addition, Glazer quoted Mayfield as telling him that the fractured bone is preventing him from returning to action.

“I need that fracture to heal for me to get back out there,” Glazer quotes Mayfield as saying.

The humerus is the long bone in the upper arm between the shoulder and the elbow joint. Mayfield aggravated the shoulder injury he initially suffered in Week 2 in last Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals, landing hard on the ground with his left arm extended out. He conducted his postgame press conference with his left arm in a sling.

Glazer did not reveal exactly where the fracture is on the humerus, but based on what Mayfield told him it would seem to be in the shoulder joint area.

Mayfield is out for Thursday night’s game against the visiting Denver Broncos. Case Keenum will start. If the fracture and larger shoulder injury need surgery, it could end Mayfield’s season.

Report: Odell Beckham Jr. dealing with Grade 3 shoulder sprain

Beckham is expected to be a game-time decision for Thursday night, per Josina Anderson

A report from Josina Anderson sheds a little more light onto the status of Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and his injured shoulder. And it’s not good news for the injury-ravaged Browns.

Anderson notes that Beckham is believed to have a Grade 3 sprain of the AC joint in his shoulder. He suffered the injury while being driven to the ground in Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Beckham left the game in obvious pain but did return later.

The Pro Bowl wideout is among nearly two dozen Browns players who are carrying some sort of injury status into Thursday night’s matchup with the visiting Denver Broncos. It is unknown if Beckham will be able to play through the injury. Anderson believes he will be a game-time decision.

The Browns will release their final injury report for the week later on Wednesday. Beckham was designated as “did not practice” for Tuesday’s walkthrough.

Browns place Kareem Hunt, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on IR

Both Hunt and Owusu-Koramoah will miss at least 3 games on IR

The Cleveland Browns confirmed the worst-case scenario for Week 7. Well, one of them anyway…

The Browns officially placed RB Kareem Hunt and LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on the injured reserve list. It will sideline each for at least three weeks of games.

Both standouts were injured in Sunday’s bad home loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Hunt injured his calf while Owusu-Koramoah suffered an ankle injury. Neither is expected to be season-ending, but it’s still a massive blow for the banged-up Browns on a short work week with the Denver Broncos coming to town on Thursday night.

The team signed RB John Kelly off the practice squad to the active roster to take Hunt’s roster spot. In addition, WR Ja’Marcus Bradley was restored to the practice squad from the injured list.

Baker Mayfield holds postgame press conference with his arm in a sling

Mayfield suffered another injury to his left shoulder in the Week 6 loss to the Cardinals

A frustrated Baker Mayfield stepped to the table for his postgame press conference not looking happy. But what Mayfield had to say was overshadowed by what he was wearing.

Mayfield’s left arm was in a sling. The sling was visible below Mayfield’s overcoat. While no official diagnosis is immediately available, Mayfield noted that he believes he dislocated the left shoulder again. He landed awkwardly on a play where he fumbled and the arm was fully extended.

It’s the same shoulder that Mayfield dislocated in the Week 2 win over the Houston Texans. The Browns QB had been wearing a shoulder harness to help keep the joint stable but it did not prevent the aggravation.

Mayfield did say he “absolutely” expects to play on Thursday night when the Browns host the Denver Broncos.

Baker Mayfield suffered partially torn labrum in Week 2

Mayfield’s injury will not need surgery but it has impacted his accuracy

Ever since Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield left the team’s Week 2 win over the Houston Texans with an injury to his left shoulder, there have been questions about the exact nature and severity of the injury. Mayfield hasn’t missed any time after quickly returning to the game, and he’s been a full participant in practices. But Mayfield is indeed hurting.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder during the win over Houston on Sept. 19th. The injury will not need surgery and Mayfield is expected to remain in the Browns lineup.

Mayfield has been wearing a shoulder harness ever since, and his accuracy has radically diminished since suffering the injury. He completed over 80 percent of his passes prior to getting slammed to the turf. Since then, No. 6 has completed just 53 percent in the two wins and has appeared to alter his throwing motion slightly to accommodate either the harness or the injury.

Browns will place LB Anthony Walker on injured reserve

Walker will miss at least 3 weeks with his hamstring injury

The injury hits keep coming for the Cleveland Browns, and now the middle of the defense takes a big hit. The Browns are placing starting linebacker Anthony Walker on injured reserve with his hamstring injury.

Walker will miss at least the next three weeks on I.R., but the injured reserve rules have changed so that it is not a season-ending situation. Walker injured the hamstring during practice this week.

The Browns will miss Walker, who played all but two of the team’s defensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Rookie Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah fared well in his debut as the other primary LB, but the depth at the position (Mack Wilson, Sione Takitaki, Malcolm Smith) has not impressed in the preseason or in Kansas City. To that end, the Browns are working out one-time first-rounder Reuben Foster on Friday.

Jedrick Wills injured on the Browns 1st offensive snap

Wills is officially questionable to return

After the Kansas City Chiefs drove down the field and scored a touchdown on the game’s opening drive, things got worse for the Cleveland Browns quickly. On the team’s first offensive snap, left tackle Jedrick Wills went down with a right leg injury.

Wills had his right foot rolled up on from behind on Nick Chubb’s carry to the left side. The big rookie was in considerable pain as trainers tended to him on the field.

He showed a prominent limp as he left the playing surface with assistance. Kendall Lamm replaced him in the lineup. The CBS broadcast showed Wills limping into the locker room tunnel heading for the X-ray machine near the end of the Browns’ first drive.

Denzel Ward and Austin Hooper back at Browns practice

Ward, Hooper and KhaDarel Hodge were all limited in Wednesday’s practice

Two key players who missed the Cleveland Browns’ big game against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night were back at the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Starting QB Denzel Ward and tight end Austin Hooper were both limited participants in the session at the Browns training facility in Berea.

Getting Ward back would be a huge boon for the Browns defense. The Pro Bowl CB has missed the last three games with a calf strain, and the secondary has sorely missed his presence.

“We’ll see where Denzel is throughout this week,” coach Kevin Stefanski said in his press conference on Wednesday. “We’ll take that day by day. If Denzel’s able to make it back, obviously that would be a big boost for our team.”

Hooper was back after suffering a neck injury late last week in practice. While he was limited, Stefanski noted that the team’s top tight end was “trending in the right direction.”

Right guard Wyatt Teller sat out the practice session with a sore ankle, one that is unrelated to the calf strain that kept him out for several games earlier this season. Wideout KhaDarel Hodge was limited with his lingering hamstring injury.

Myles Garrett and Jedrick Wills, who each left Monday night’s game for a brief time with injuries, were not listed with any injury designations.

Browns lose S Ronnie Harrison for the game on the first snap vs. Jaguars

Browns lose S Ronnie Harrison for the game on the first snap vs. Jaguars

Ronnie Harrison made the tackle on the very first play against his old team. It wound up being the only rep the Browns safety will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Harrison suffered a shoulder injury while making the tackle on Jaguars RB James Robinson. He walked off under his own power but there was no movement in his left arm or shoulder as he walked with the trainers.

The Browns initially ruled Harrison as questionable to return but quickly ruled out the third-year safety. He was acquired in a trade with the Jaguars just before the season began.

Karl Joseph took over for Harrison in the Browns’ injury-ravaged secondary.
