Hogs pick up grad transfer from Syracuse

Carr has experience in the ACC and Big 12 both, plus familiar ties to the Arkansas program.

Only one spot remains on the Arkansas women’s basketball team.

Syracuse transfer [autotag]Christianna Carr[/autotag] announced her commitment via the transfer portal to the Razorbacks on Thursday. Carr averaged 11.7 points and 4.6 rebounds last year for Syracuse.

She is the first player landed via the portal this offseason, countering the transfer of two players from Arkansas. Center Destinee Oberg entered the portal last month and Elauna Eaton entered the portal on April 2. The Razorbacks also lost All-SEC performer [autotag]Amber Ramirez[/autotag] to exhausted eligibility and sophomore starter [autotag]Sasha Goforth[/autotag], who retired because of a medical condition.

Carr started her collegiate career in her hometown of Manhattan, Kansas, where she played three years for Kansas State. Arkansas coach Mike Neighbors’ wife, Jayci Stone, was an assistant at K-State when Carr was a freshman.

Arkansas has 12 scholarship players now on the roster for 2022-23. The NCAA maximum is 13.
