Best photos from Chiefs’ Week 11 loss to Bills at Highmark Stadium

See all the best photographs from the Kansas City #Chiefs’ Week 11 loss to the Buffalo #Bills at Highmark Stadium.

On Sunday, November 17 the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills met for a highly anticipated Week 11 matchup that may end up having huge implications on the AFC playoff picture later this year.

While the Chiefs made a signature late-game comeback attempt in Sunday’s tilt against Buffalo, it wasn’t enough to keep Josh Allen and the Bills from snapping Kansas City’s nine-game winning streak.

Buffalo dominated on both sides of the ball, exposing all of the Chiefs’ weaknesses and toppling Kansas City’s perfect season.

Despite this loss to their rivals, the standings in the AFC remain the same with the Chiefs retaining their lead over the second-place Bills.

Kansas City will have to fight to regain the momentum they built earlier in the regular season and will have a chance to earn their tenth win against the Carolina Panthers on November 24.

The Chiefs’ Week 11 performance was not without exciting moments that fans can appreciate, even after a bitter loss.

Panthers’ updated 53-man roster following Monday’s moves

The Panthers made some adjustments on Monday.

The Carolina Panthers made an adjustment on Monday, beginning by placing tight end Ian Thomas on injured reserve.

Thomas, the fourth-longest tenured Panther, will now miss at least the next four games due to a calf injury he sustained in the Week 10 win over the New York Giants.

In his place goes cornerback Caleb Farley, who was elevated from the practice squad for each of the team’s past three games.

Here’s an updated look at Carolina’s 53-man roster following today’s moves:

Panthers WR Adam Thielen could return in Week 12 vs. Chiefs

The Panthers are hoping to get WR Adam Thielen back on the field this weekend.

The Carolina Panthers are going to need all the help they can get this Sunday. And luckily for them, they may be getting back their leading receiver from a year ago.

Wideout Adam Thielen could be in line to make his return in Week 12, when the Panthers host the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. That prospect was brought up this afternoon by head coach Dave Canales, who also said he expects rookie running back Jonathon Brooks to make his NFL debut this weekend.

“I fully expect JB to make his debut this week against the Chiefs,” Canales told reporters after Monday’s practice. “Again, we have some practices to go through to make sure that we’re ready to go there. Same thing with [Adam] Thielen. Just get ’em out there. They were running around today. We’ll have a couple of practices to make that decision. But my hope is to have both of those guys out there on Sunday.”

Thielen has missed the last seven games due to a hamstring injury, one he sustained while reeling in a 31-yard touchdown pass in the team’s Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Panthers ‘fully expect’ RB Jonathon Brooks to make NFL debut in Week 12

Panthers HC Dave Canales told reporters that he expects rookie RB Jonathon Brooks to make his NFL debut in Week 12 vs. the Chiefs.

Get ready for the NFL debut of Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks.

The team’s second-round pick has yet to hit the professional gridiron due to an ACL tear he sustained last November. But the wait, according to head coach Dave Canales, may finally be over for the 21-year-old rusher.

“I fully expect JB to make his debut this week against the Chiefs,” Canales told reporters after this morning’s practice. “Again, we have some practices to go through to make sure that we’re ready to go there. Same thing with [Adam] Thielen. Just get ’em out there. They were running around today. We’ll have a couple of practices to make that decision. But my hope is to have both of those guys out there on Sunday.”

Carolina traded up to grab Brooks with the 46th overall selection of the 2024 draft. But Brooks, who was initially expected to be ready for training camp, remained sidelined throughout the offseason and began the regular season on the physically unable to perform/non-football injury list.

The Panthers officially activated Brooks to the 53-man roster ahead of their Week 10 win over the New York Giants.

Panthers HC Dave Canales is asked if he’ll start Bryce Young for remainder of season

Is Panthers HC Dave Canales ready to commit to Bryce Young as his starting QB for the rest of the 2024 season? He was asked that on Monday.

Apparently, Bryce Young hasn’t made enough of a statement for Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales.

Canales, on Monday afternoon, named Young as the team’s starting quarterback for their Week 12 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. This Sunday’s contest will mark the fourth straight start for last year’s No. 1 overall pick.

“This is about the continued progress,” Canales told reporters after today’s practice. “This is about Bryce looking more and more confident as he’s out there. In Germany, just felt a real confidence and just an aggressiveness to his play and all those things. And, of course, the end result—winning. He continues to do things that put us in a position to put him back out there and continue to build on that.”

Young, who was benched in favor of 14th-year veteran Andy Dalton after a disappointing 0-2 start, took back over in Week 8—when Dalton injured his right thumb in a minor car accident. Since then, Young has completed 62.5 percent of his throws for 521 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

The latest of his three outings came in Munich, where the Panthers captured a 20-17 overtime victory over the New York Giants. The triumph gave the franchise their first winning streak since 2022.

But even after two consecutive wins, Young hasn’t been assured the job for the remainder of the campaign just yet.

Canales was then asked if he’ll continue to evaluate the position on a week-to-week basis.

“Yes, yes we will,” he replied. “We’ll continue to look at all the film, look at the whole situation and weigh all those things in.”

Panthers name starting QB for Week 12 matchup vs. Chiefs

Panthers HC Dave Canales has named his starting QB for Week 12.

The Carolina Panthers are Bryce Young’s team . . . but still just on a week-to-week basis.

On Monday, head coach Dave Canales named Young as the team’s starting quarterback for their Week 12 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. This upcoming outing will mark the fourth straight start for the second-year passer, who was benched at the beginning of Week 3.

Young took a backseat to 14th-year veteran Andy Dalton after pacing the Panthers to just 13 points and a pair of blowout losses to begin the campaign. Dalton would headline Carolina’s 36-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in his first start, but proceeded to lead them to four consecutive losses from Weeks 4 to 7.

Canales and the Panthers went back to Young in Week 8, when Dalton injured his right thumb in a minor car accident. Young has since helped Carolina to a 2-1 mark while completing 62.5 percent of his passes for 521 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

Despite giving him the nod for Sunday, Canales would not commit to Young as the starter for the remainder of the season.

Panthers OLB Amaré Barno designated to return to practice

The Panthers have opened up the practice window for OLB Amaré Barno.

The Carolina Panthers may be getting back even more firepower off the edge.

As announced by the team on Monday morning, outside linebacker Amaré Barno has been designated to return to practice. The 25-year-old defender, who tore his ACL in last year’s Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers, has been on the physically unable to perform list since the start of the regular season.

Barno was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft. The Blythewood, S.C. native has since gone on to appear in 24 games for the Panthers, amassing 30 combined tackles (three for a loss) and 2.0 sacks.

The Panthers, who have been struggling to maintain a consistent rotation of pass rushers in 2024, just got outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum back from his quad injury. Wonnum made his team debut in the Week 10 win over the New York Giants, where he recorded six tackles and a sack.

Panthers announce signing, place TE Ian Thomas on IR

The Panthers have signed CB Caleb Farley to their active roster and placed TE Ian Thomas on IR.

The Carolina Panthers’ corresponding move for the reported signing of cornerback Caleb Farley has been announced. Oh, and the reported signing of cornerback Caleb Farley is no longer “reported.”

As first noted on Monday morning by ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers have added the 26-year-old cornerback to their 53-man roster. Farley, who was added to the team’s practice squad back on Oct. 1, was elevated to the game-day roster for each of Carolina’s past three games.

The Maiden N.C. native and former first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans played in the Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos as well as the Week 9 and Week 10 wins over the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. He tallied 29 snaps on defense and 23 snaps on special teams.

To make room for Farley, the Panthers have placed tight end Ian Thomas on injured reserve. Thomas, currently the fourth-longest tenured Panther, sustained a calf injury in the Week 10 victory in Munich, Germany.

He will now miss at least the next four games.

In addition, defensive tackle Sam Roberts, a sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2022, has been signed to the practice squad in Farley’s place.

Panthers reportedly signing former 1st-round pick to roster

Now that he’s out of elevations from the practice squad, CB Caleb Farley is reportedly headed to the Panthers’ 53-man roster.

Carolina Panthers cornerback Caleb Farley may have found a home at home.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers are set to add Farley to their 53-man roster. The 26-year-old Maiden N.C. native had been elevated from the practice squad to the team’s game-day roster in each of their last three games.

Farley, a standout at Virginia Tech, was selected with the 22nd overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans. But a number of injuries, specifically to his back and knee, limited him to just 12 games for the Titans between 2021 and 2022.

Tennessee parted ways with Farley back on Aug. 27.

The Panthers would then sign the local product to their practice squad on Oct. 1. Farley was brought up from the group for Carolina’s Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos as well as the Week 9 and Week 10 wins over the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants.

He has played 29 snaps on defense and 23 on special teams.

Panthers’ Eddy Piñeiro is now NFL’s most accurate FG kicker ever . . . and he didn’t even play this week

Carolina Panthers kicker Eddy Piñeiro became the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history on Sunday . . . and he didn’t even play. Here’s how:

Carolina Panthers kicker Eddy Piñeiro became the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history on Sunday . . . and he didn’t even play.

Piñeiro, while enjoying his team’s bye, entered Week 11 with a career field goal rate of 89.381 percent—the second-highest ever. That mark had him barely behind Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who sat atop the all-time list at 89.716 percent.

Well, Tucker didn’t have himself a very good showing against the Pittsburgh Steelers this afternoon.

The future Hall of Famer started off his outing by missing on a 47-yard attempt almost 10 minutes into the first quarter. He’d then miss his next try, a 50-yarder, on Baltimore’s very next possession.

Tucker was able to shake off the pair of whiffs to successfully convert on his third go, a 54-yarder with 6:12 remaining in the third quarter. But it wouldn’t be enough to recover in the ranks.

Those misses, even along with the make, now have Tucker at 89.347 percent—.034 percent below Piñeiro.

Congrats, Steady Eddy!
