Cal at Washington odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Cal at Washington odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 8 Washington Huskies (3-0, 0-0 Pac-12) welcome the California Golden Bears (2-1, 0-0) to Husky Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the California vs. Washington odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Huskies are coming off a 41-7 win at the Michigan State Spartans last Saturday, covering as 14.5-point favorites. Washington has been favored by 14 or more in each game this season. It is led by QB Michael Penix Jr., who has 12 touchdowns and 1,332 yards in 3 games. The Huskies are 2-0-1 against the spread (ATS) so far this season and are No. 8 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Golden Bears are 2-1 ATS, suffering their first ATS loss in a 31-17 home win vs. Idaho as 15-point favorites last Saturday. California’s lone straight-up loss was a 14-10 defeat at home against the Auburn Tigers in Week 2. Cal at Washington picks and predictions

Prediction

Washington 38, Cal 17

Moneyline

PASS.

Cal lost at home to Auburn, and it should struggle against against a prolific offense led by a Heisman hopeful. Expect the Golden Bears to not be able to keep pace offensively, and at +700, they aren’t worth a play.

Against the spread

BET WASHINGTON -20.5 (-110).

Washington has been terrific at home, beating Boise State 56-19 as a 14-point favorite and toppling Tulsa 43-10 as a 33-point favorite. The Huskies have scored 40 or more points in every game this season.

Their offense is electric, and Cal struggled heavily against its lone quality opponent, scoring just 10 points against the Tigers. Neither Cal quarterback has a completion percentage over 70% while Penix Jr. sits at 74.3%. He will be able to move the chains, and the Golden Bears may not.

Take WASHINGTON -20.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 57.5 (-110).

Washington’s defense against Cal’s offense is what will help the Under cash Saturday. Cal has scored points this season, but against the lone Power 5 program, it scored 10, and the Under 55.5 hit with ease. Cal is 1-2 O/U.

Washington is 1-2 O/U as well because it has allowed 17 points in its last 2 games combined. The Huskies defense is quick and should be able to limit Cal.

Arizona at California odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Arizona at California odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 Arizona Wildcats (21-3, 10-3 Pac-12) battle the California Golden Bears (3-20, 2-10) Thursday. Tip from Haas Pavilion is set for 11 p.m. ET (PAC12). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Arizona vs. California odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

California and Arizona have already played once this season with the Wildcats beating the Golden Bears 81-68, but failing to cover as a 23-point home favorite as the Over 141.5 hit.

The Golden Bears have lost 7 games in a row and are coming off a 61-46 road loss to Utah, covering as a 17.5-point underdog. They have covered 2 in a row and are 5-5 over their last 10. California is 10-13 ATS on the season.

The Wildcats have won 6 in a row and are coming off an 84-52 home win over Oregon State Saturday. They covered as a 20.5-point favorite. Arizona has covered 5 of its last 6 and is 11-12-1 ATS on the season.

Against the spread

LEAN ARIZONA -18.5 (-115).

Arizona is 6-7 ATS in conference games yet has been red-hot lately, posting a 4-1 ATS record over its last 5. The Golden Bears are just 6-6 ATS in conference games as well.

At home, Cal is 3-10 ATS. It has failed to cover 3 of its last 5 and its last 2 home games. It has lost 3 of its last 5 by 20 or more points and has lost all 5 by double figures. Against one of the best teams in the nation, Cal will likely struggle to keep pace.

Back ARIZONA -18.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 141.5 (-110).

If there’s one thing that bettors for both teams have enjoyed this season, it is the Under.

Cal is 10-13 O/U while Arizona is 11-13 O/U. They are a combined 10-15 O/U in conference games as well. Both teams have gone Under in 4 of their last 6.

For Cal, it has failed to top 50 points in 4 straight games. While Arizona should help pick up the pace, it isn’t a great 3-point shooting team, knocking down 36.3% of its attempts, which may limit how quickly it can tally points.

Ultimately, considering the trends, back the UNDER 141.5 (-110).

California at Colorado odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s California at Colorado odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The California Golden Bears (3-18, 2-8 Pac-12) visit the Colorado Buffaloes (12-11, 4-8) on Thursday. Tip from CU Events Center is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the California vs. Colorado odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Golden Bears were throttled on Saturday, falling 75-46 to Stanford and failing to cover as 10.5-point road underdogs. They have lost 5 games in a row going 1-4 against the spread (ATS). In their last 10, the Bears are 5-5 ATS and 8-13 ATS this season. California’s offense ranks below 300th in the country in points per game (347th, 60.2), field goal percentage (319th, 41.17%), and 3-point field goal percentage (327th, 29.94%).

Colorado fell 60-52 to Oregon State on Saturday, failing to cover as 7.5-point road favorites. It is 1-5 in its last 6 games going 0-5-1 ATS. In its last 10, Colorado is 3-6-1 ATS falling to 8-14-1 ATS on the season. The Buffaloes defense has been their strong point this season, holding opponents to 66.7 points per game (96th) on 41.782% shooting from the field (90th).

California beat Colorado as a 10.5-point underdog 80-76 at home on Dec. 31 as the Over 129.5 cashed.

California at Colorado picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 71, California 55

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no point risking that much on Colorado.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Against the spread

PASS.

Although Colorado should easily handle the Golden Bears at home, 15.5 points is too many to comfortably bet. With a 3-18 overall record, Colorado is one of the teams California has taken down this season which makes me more weary of such a large spread. If you must, I would sprinkle COLORADO -15.5 (-110) with, at most, half a unit.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 129.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in back-to-back games for the Golden Bears with both closing lines falling under 129.5. For Colorado, the Under has hit 6 times in its last 8 games by an average of 22.17 points.

With California’s offense scoring less than 60 points in 4 of its last 5 games and Colorado’s scoring less than 60 in 3 of its last 5 games, the UNDER 129.5 (-110) is the better play in this matchup.

Stanford at California odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Stanford at California odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Stanford Cardinal (5-9, 0-4 Pac-12) battle the California Golden Bears (2-13, 1-3) Friday. Tip from Haas Pavilion in Berkeley is set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Stanford vs. California odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Stanford lost to Utah 71-66 on Dec. 31, failing to cover as a 2.5-point home favorite. The Cardinal is 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last 6 games and 6-8 ATS on the season. Stanford’s strength is defense, allowing 64.9 points per game, good for the 80th-best in the nation.

The Golden Bears beat Colorado 80-76 on Dec. 31, covering as a 10.5-point home underdog. Cal is 3-1 ATS in its last 4 games, but only 6-9 ATS on the season. Cal ranks 112th in opponents’ points per game (66.4).

Stanford at California picks and predictions

Prediction

Stanford 64, California 58

Moneyline

PASS.

California is 2-8 at home and has only won at Haas Pavilion. Despite that, playing it at (+310) isn’t a great option with the spread sitting at 9.5.

Against the spread

BET CALIFORNIA +9.5 (-120).

Cal has covered 3 of its last 4 games and is 6-4 ATS in its last 10. While its offense has been an issue, the Golden Bears have scored at least 70 in 2 of their last 3 games.

Stanford ranks outside of the top 200 in field goal percentage and 3-point FG percentage, so it likely won’t light up Cal. Being on the road, Stanford could struggle as well. It has failed to cover 2 straight games and lost to Colorado, a team Cal just beat at Haas.

With that in mind, back CALIFORNIA +9.5 (-120).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 123.5 (-110).

Neither team is good at offense. Cal averages 59.5 points per game and sits outside the top 300 in FG percentage and 3-point FG percentage. Similarly, Stanford is at just 68.1 points per game. This won’t be a game with much offensive firepower, so I would back the UNDER 123.5 (-110).

Colorado at California odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado at California odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado Buffaloes (9-5, 1-2 Pac-12) face the California Golden Bears (1-13, 0-3) at Haas Pavilion in Berkley, Calif., Saturday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Colorado vs. California odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Colorado beat Stanford 73-70 Thursday to cover as 2-point road favorites. The Buffaloes are 6-8 against the spread (ATS) this season. They are 6-1 straight up at home, 1-2 away and 2-2 on neutral floors. They are 3-2 ATS over their last 5 games. The Over is 4-1 in their previous 5 games but 5-5 in their last 10.

California, on the other hand, got blown out 58-43 against Utah, failing to cover as 9.5-point underdogs. The Golden Bears are 5-9 ATS this season. They are 1-8 at home, 0-3 on the road and 0-2 at neutral sites. California has struggled this season, ranking 359th in points per game (58) and 343rd in field goal percentage (40.2%).

Prediction

Colorado 66, California 54

Moneyline

The moneyline does not present enough return on investment to make a play worth the risk.

Against the spread

LEAN COLORADO -9.5 (-120).

California’s defense ranks 223rd in opponent field goal percentage (43.4%), and Colorado’s offense ranks 121st in field goal percentage (45.9%).

On the contrary, California’s offense struggles, ranking 343rd in field goal percentage (40.2%). Colorado should cover the spread and has covered for bettors recently (3-2 ATS over its last 5).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 129.5 (-105).

California’s offense has had a lot of issues this season, ranking outside the top 300 in points per game (58), field goal percentage (40.2%) and 3-point percentage (26%). Its defense ranks 104th in opponents’ points per game (65.7) going against a Colorado offense that ranks 106th with 76.1 points per game.

Neither offense is worth backing, and the Under is the best play here. Back UNDER 129.5 (-105).

Cal at Colorado odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Cal Golden Bears at Colorado Buffaloes odds and lines, with NCAA expert picks and predictions.

The Cal Golden Bears (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12) and Colorado Buffaloes (0-5, 0-2) meet Saturday with kickoff at Folsom Field scheduled for 2 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Cal vs. Colorado odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Cal is 1-2 in its last 3 games. The 2 losses came on the road, and the Golden Bears are just 1-9 in their last 10 road games dating back to 2020. Cal has thus far been slightly below-average offensively and defensively, ranking 73rd and 77th, respectively, in total yards for and against.

The Buffaloes have been woeful, ranking 129th in scoring (13.4 points per game) and 130th in scoring defense (43.2 PPG). Dating back to last season, Colorado has been held under 350 yards of total offense in 7 straight games.

Both teams are coming off bye weeks.

Cal at Colorado picks and predictions

Prediction

Cal 28, Colorado 17

Moneyline

PASS. Although Colorado is a lean for those bettors looking for an added spice rider on 1 of the below plays.

Against the spread

The home team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 games of this series.

Cal has been inconsistent and could be caught flat-footed looking forward to a stretch of games against Washington, Oregon, and USC.

Colorado is now under interim coach Mike Sanford after Karl Dorrell was fired following the Buffs’ 43-20 loss at Arizona Oct. 1. We’ve had an early-season trend (Nebraska, Arizona State) of teams picking up steam after such changes. With the home game, a likable Under, and 2 weeks to prep, COLORADO +14.5 (-108) is worth some partial-unit action.

Over/Under

The Under is 5-1 in the Golden Bears’ last 6 games vs. teams with a losing record.

Look for some uptick regression from a Colorado defense that has not been able to get off the field on 3rd downs or stop touchdowns in the red zone.

TAKE THE UNDER 48.5 (-115).

California at Washington State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s California at Washington State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The California Golden Bears (3-1, 1-0 Pac-12) square off with the Washington State Cougars (3-1, 0-1) at Martin Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the California vs. Washington State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Golden Bears have been playing much better than most people assumed they would this season as 2 of their first 3 wins have come by more than 10 points. California suffered a 24-17 loss at Notre Dame Sept. 17 for its lone loss of the season thus far.

The Cougars came close to knocking out a second ranked team this season when they fell 44-41 to Oregon last Saturday. Washington State was able to defeat a ranked Wisconsin team in Week 2, proving that they can compete with some of the better programs in college football.

California at Washington State picks and predictions

Prediction

Washington State 27, California 20

Money line

Washington State should be able to pull out a win at home against California, but I’ll PASS on the money line in this game. The Cougars are nearly -200 favorites at home and I can’t recommend taking them straight up at their current odds.

Against the spread

WASHINGTON STATE -3.5 (-115) is where I’m going in this game with the Cougars having the better offense. QB Cameron Ward has been able to overcome some turnover issues as he’s thrown for 1,102 yards and 10 touchdowns with 5 interceptions.

The Cougars are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss and they are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 conference games.

Over/Under

Pac-12 matchups can always result in a shootout, however, this feels like it’s going to be a lower-scoring game than expected. California wants to lean on its running game that is led by RB Jaydn Ott and Washington State could have a turnover or 2 that could lead to them not scoring as many points as they could.

UNDER 53.5 (-115) is the move in this game. The Under has hit in 5 of the last 6 meetings between California and Washington State overall and is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings when the Cougars were the home team.

California at Notre Dame odds, picks, and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s California at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The California Golden Bears (2-0) head to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (0-2) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET, (NBC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the California s. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Cal comes into this game undefeated while Notre Dame comes in without a victory this season.

After losing the Fiesta Bowl in his debut, Marcus Freeman has become the 1st coach in Irish history to lose his first 3 games at the helm. He will now be forced to start Drew Pyne at QB after Tyler Buchner suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the loss to Marshall.

With wins over UC Davis and UNLV, Cal comes in still awaiting a challenge. In their 1st road game and with Notre Dame needing a win, they will get their challenge this week.

California at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 27, California 13

Money line

PASS. Notre Dame will win this game. But I can’t tell you take any odds this high.

Against the spread

NOTRE DAME -10.5 (-103).

The Fighting Irish are mad. Freeman needs his 1st win. They will get it convincingly against a Cal team with a good defense, but nothing on offense. In this battle of the academics, follow the math and take Notre Dame.

Over/Under

STAY AWAY.

This is going to be a defensive battle. Both teams sport solid defenses and both offenses are inept. This seems like a lean to the Under 41.5 (-115), but with the total being so low it could get close. So it is better to just stay away.

Colorado at California odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Colorado at California odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado Buffaloes (16-9, 8-7 Pac-12) and California Golden Bears (11-15, 4-11) meet Thursday in Berkley, Calif. The contest at Haas Pavilion is slated to tip off at 9:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Colorado vs. California odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Colorado defeated Oregon State 90-64 Tuesday, and the Buffaloes have won three straight games. The Buffs have averaged 85.7 points per game while shooting 52.7% from the floor over the streak. Colorado is the best 3-point shooting team in the Pac-12; the Buffs are shooting a robust 40.0% from distance since Dec. 18.

Cal is coming off back-to-back wins for the first time in over six weeks. The Bears were 14.5-point underdogs in their last game, but they upset Oregon 78-64. The 78 points marked a season high for California, which at 64.7 points per game, ranks 323rd in the nation in scoring.

Colorado at California odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 69, California 64

Money line

Cal F Andre Kelly is out with a knee injury. The Bears’ win over Oregon — without Kelly — figures as a major outlier, and the visiting Buffaloes are the lean here. But value disappears north of -120. AVOID.

Against the spread

Colorado’s distance game figures as a difference maker here. And Kelly’s absence will be felt by Cal on the boards.

BACK THE BUFFALOES -1.5 (-120).

Over/Under

The Over fits with Colorado of late, and Buffaloes’ games have gone over the total in three straight. Recent possession numbers in Cal games against Oregon and Oregon State would seem to favor a total here closer to 135.

BACK THE OVER 128.5 (-108).

USC at California odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s USC at California odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The USC Trojans (4-7, 3-5 Pac-12) and California Golden Bears (4-7, 3-5) meet Saturday for an 11 p.m. ET game at California Memorial Stadium in Berkley, Calif. Below, we look at the USC vs. California odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

USC made an off-the-field splash by hiring head coach Lincoln Riley away from Oklahoma this week, but the on-field product has been rough of late. USC is just 1-5 ATS over its last six games and it’s given up at least 31 points in each of those contests.

California is coming off a 42-14 loss to UCLA last Saturday, which was the second time in its last three games where the offense failed to score more than two touchdowns. The Golden Bears are 6-5 ATS this season despite their 4-7 record.

USC at California odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

California 31, USC 24

Money line

California could win this by a wide margin given how USC is finishing the season under an interim coach. PASS on the money line and go for the Golden Bears against the spread.

Against the spread

With distractions galore swirling around the USC program this week, you have to wonder how focused the team will be heading into a game where neither side has anything to play for.

The Trojans’ passing game has been a highlight (301.4 yards per game; 17th nationally), but that production has slipped since star WR Drake London went down for the season in late October. USC’s defense will be the worst unit on the field Saturday night as well (422.9 yards allowed per game; 98th nationally).

California has a more balanced attack and has at least had some success down the stretch. Our lean is CALIFORNIA -4.5 (-105).

Over/Under

USC is averaging 30.0 points per game on the season compared to California’s 23.7. Neither offense has been that explosive of late and this is a pretty high number.

Take the UNDER 57.5 (-108).
