Bills DL coach Bill Teerlinck leaves for Virginia Tech

Buffalo Bills DL Bill Teerlinck coach leaves for Virginia Tech.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said he didn’t plan on making and coaching changes. Looking he’s going to make at least one hire, though.

The Virginia Tech football team hired Bills defensive line coach Bill Teerlinck for that same position, the program announced on Wednesday. He spent three seasons with the Bills since 2017 when McDermott was hired.

Buffalo’s defensive line has hit its ups and downs since McDermott and Teerlinck arrived, but the group never struggled, much like the entire defensive side of the ball for the Bills.

According to the Bills’ website, Teerlinck is close friends with Justin Fuente, Virginia Tech’s head coach.

Fuente mentions that in news released via VT’s website.

“Bill and I have history working together and the timing was finally right for him to get back into the college game. He will be another solid addition to our staff and I’m excited for him to join us at Virginia Tech,” Fuente said.
