Watch: Top Ten defensive ending plays in Notre Dame football history

I’m not going to argue that the top two on this wound up sealing wins for Notre Dame over top-ranked teams in the nation. However, you can’t convince me there is a more impressive play on the list than the two goal line tackles made on the east coast to seal victories.

Notre Dame released another NDTop10 over the weekend with the greatest defensive plays to seal victories being counted down.  In looking at this list it’s important to go realize they’re still thinking biggest wins and not so much actual toughest or most-amazing play to win the games.

Before I share my thought after and what I would have put number one, take a watch for yourself.  Some great memories in this one, almost all I could tell you where I was watching the moments unfold.

Well, except for the couple I wasn’t born yet for…

I’m not going to argue that the top two on this wound up sealing wins for Notre Dame over top-ranked teams in the nation. However, you can’t convince me there is a more impressive play on the list than the two goal line tackles made on the east coast to seal victories.  Stanford in 2012 resulting in a 12-0 regular season I think makes it more impressive than any one of the tackles on that stand, as great as it was.

To me the most impressive plays on the list come in 1995 against Army and in 1998, especially the third down tackle against Boston College.  Both tackles are like running into brick walls, just entirely stopped dead in their tracks, even if bigger opponents and games were won by balls being batted away.

2023 NFL draft: Watch highlights of new Chargers WR Quentin Johnston

Quentin Johnston was a key part of TCU’s offense in 2022 and should be a boon for the Chargers’ passing game.

Quentin Johnston was among college football’s best receivers in 2022, and the Chargers wasted no time in entering their draft card to select him with the No. 21 overall selection on Thursday night.

A big-bodied wideout from TCU, Johnston should provide a spark to Los Angeles’ offense early in the 2023 season as he is a deep threat with the speed to stretch the field and the ability to outpace defenders in the open field with great explosiveness, wiggle and strength.

His exceptional highlight reel made him a fan favorite in Ft. Worth and should translate well to the NFL game. Check out some of his top plays below, and get acquainted with the Bolts’ newest receiving threat:

WATCH: Saints QB Derek Carr’s biggest throws with the Raiders

The Saints released a highlight reel of Derek Carr’s biggest throws with the Raiders, which he’ll be looking to recreate with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed:

Derek Carr isn’t afraid to air it out, which is good news for New Orleans Saints fans. The longtime Las Vegas Raiders quarterback is on his way to New Orleans after agreeing to sign a free agent contract with the Saints, which the team helped announce by sharing a couple of quick highlight reels of Carr’s biggest plays with the Raiders.

Carr averaged the fourth-highest average depth of targeted passes around the league in 2022 (9.1), well ahead of the Saints’ Andy Dalton (7.9). He found plenty of success throwing to Davante Adams deep downfield, and the Saints will be looking to put that playmaking ability to good use now that he’s throwing to Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.

Ranking the 15 best plays of the 2019 Saints season

The New Orleans Saints made a lot of great plays in the 2019 NFL season, but these 15 highlight reel-worthy moments stood out more than most

The NFL’s calendar is just weeks away from flipping over to the 2020 fiscal year, meaning that free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft are on the horizon. For the New Orleans Saints, it’s time to finally shut the book on a highlight-filled 2019 season that, unfortunately, came up short. But we’re here to celebrate the year’s best moments.

Whittling down the thousands of snaps played by the Saints last year wasn’t easy, and this list may not jive with everyone’s expectations. So let us know what you think we got wrong, and which big plays deserved greater recognition in our Saints Forum.

Now, let’s get to it. Here’s our ranking of the 15 best Saints plays of 2019:

15. Teddy Bridgewater connects with Ted Ginn on 33-yard TD vs. Buccaneers

This was just a perfectly-executed play, with the route concepts opening Ginn up for a well-thrown ball from Bridgewater. It showcased everyone’s strengths — Ginn’s speed, Bridgewater’s accuracy, and Sean Payton’s clever play design against a coverage poorly-suited to defend it. It’s the sort of thing that should lead off any and all of Bridgewater’s 2019 highlight reels.
