Feleipe Franks adjusting well to new position

Feleipe Franks could see the field at a new position according to reports from the Atlanta Falcons training camp.

The Atlanta Falcons have added two new quarterbacks to the roster for the 2022 season, one from free agency in former Oregon star Marcus Mariota, and one from the NFL Draft in Desmond Ritter from Cincinnati.

That leaves former Arkansas quarterback [autotag]Feleipe Franks[/autotag] looking up the ladder for a chance to see significant playing time under center.

Or, does it?

Franks got looks at tight end during the Falcons’ OTA’s in June and has continued to see time at the position as the Falcons begin their preparations for the new season.

According to reports, Franks is making quite a splash at the position. According to Falcons Wire, practicing well at tight end could earn Franks a spot on the roster.

Feleipe Franks at tight end might actually work out for the Falcons if the past few days are any indication. Franks has great size and speed, it just depends on other aspects of his game — like catching and blocking — that will determine his success or failure. It’s been an encouraging start for Franks, and he added another good day of practice on Friday, per team reporter Tori McElhaney.

Franks will continue to get looks at quarterback as well according to reports. The first time that Franks will see action at tight end against another NFL team will be on Friday, August 12 when the Falcons open the preseason at Detroit.
