Former Titans DL Amani Bledsoe suspended again

Former Titans DL Amani Bledsoe has been suspended for the second time in his career.

Former Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe has been suspended by the league for the second time in his career.

According to the league’s transactions wire, Bledsoe, who is a free agent, has been suspended for the first 17 weeks of the 2023 campaign for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

This is the second PED-related suspension Bledsoe has received in as many years, with the previous one coming in 2022, which led to a six-game ban.

The Oklahoma product was an undrafted free agent signing of the Titans in 2019 and has spent multiple stints with the team since. He appeared in five games for Tennessee in 2021 but has not played in a contest since.

He has also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals (2020) and was on the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons in 2022. He was signed to a futures contract by the Falcons this offseason but was waived last month.

Former Titans DE Amani Bledsoe suspended for violating PED policy

Bledsoe has been suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season.

Former Tennessee Titans 2019 undrafted free agent signing and defensive end, Amani Bledsoe, finds himself in hot water with the NFL.

According to the league’s transactions wire on Tuesday, Bledsoe has been suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season after he violated the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

After being signed as a UDFA in 2019, Bledsoe didn’t appear in any games for the Titans during his rookie season. He was then waived during the summer in 2020.

Bledsoe then latched on with the Cincinnati Bengals that season, appearing in 14 games (four starts) and tallying 17 combined tackles and two passes defended.

Tennessee and the Oklahoma product reunited in 2021, which led to Bledsoe seeing five games (two starts) for the Titans. He totaled just one tackle and one pass defended before being waived in November.

Bledsoe, who is currently a free agent, lost a year of eligibility in college after testing positive for a banned substance in a random drug test.

Titans sign Kyle Peko to active roster among four moves

Peko earned one of the highest grades on defense in the Titans’ Week 10 win over the Saints.

The Tennessee Titans made four moves ahead of practice on Wednesday, one of which included signing defensive lineman Kyle Peko to the active roster.

Peko, who was previously on the Titans’ practice squad, played 23 snaps in the team’s Week 10 win against the New Orleans Saints. He registered the second-best overall Pro Football Focus grade on defense, and the best run defense mark.

In addition to that move, the Titans are bringing back offensive lineman Bobby Hart and defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe on the practice squad. Both players were waived from the active roster on Monday.

Finally, the Titans have designated tight end Tommy Hudson to return from Injured Reserve. A 2020 undrafted free agent signing of the Titans, Hudson has played in three games this season but hasn’t suited up since Week 4.

The Titans will return to practice on Wednesday in preparation for their Week 11 matchup against the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

Tennessee Titans waive OL Bobby Hart, DL Amani Bledsoe

The Titans made a pair of roster moves on Monday.

The Tennessee Titans made a pair of roster moves on Monday, waiving offensive lineman Bobby Hart and defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe.

Hart played in three games for the Titans after signing with them in October. He started in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams after left tackle Taylor Lewan was active but didn’t play. Hart struggled, though, posting a PFF grade of 25.5 and 39.6 in pass protection and run-blocking, respectively.

Bledsoe, a 2019 undrafted free agent signing of the Titans, appeared in five games for Tennessee this season, totaling one tackle and one pass defensed.

The Titans’ move to waive both likely means the team is confident in the health of both Lewan and defensive lineman Teair Tart, who has missed two of the past three games as well.

Tennessee does have two open spots on its practice squad, so it’s possible the team could bring Hart and Bledsoe back there. The Titans host the Houston Texans in Week 11.

Titans elevate Tory Carter, Amani Bledsoe from practice squad for Week 4

This is the second straight game in which the Titans have elevated Carter.

The Tennessee Titans made a pair of moves on the practice squad with just one day remaining until their Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets.

Tennessee announced it has elevated fullback Tory Carter and defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe from the practice squad for Sunday’s contest. Both players will revert back to the practice squad after the game.

For Carter, this is the second straight week in which he has been elevated. He was a surprise active in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts, replacing fellow fullback Khari Blasingame, who was a healthy scratch.

The 2021 undrafted free agent signing ended up playing just three snaps, but did pave the way for one of the Derrick Henry’s better runs of the contest. If he plays over Blasingame again this week, it’ll be safe to say that the LSU product has officially jumped him on the depth chart.

Bledsoe is a familiar name to Nashville. He was a 2019 undrafted free agent signing of the Titans, but didn’t see the field in his rookie campaign. He spent 2020 with the Cincinnati Bengals, suiting up in 14 contests (four starts). We’ll see if he gets the nod with fellow defensive lineman Larrell Murchison out.

The Titans will release their inactives an hour and a half before kickoff, which is scheduled to be at noon CT.

Report: Bengals vs. Dolphins still on after positive COVID-19 test

Some late, breaking news for the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of Week 13.

[jwplayer RN9bZLWI]

The Cincinnati Bengals popped up in some breaking news Sunday morning ahead of the team’s Week 13 game against the Miami Dolphins.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team had to shift defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe to the reserve/COVID-19 list and elevated one player from the practice squad to make up the difference:

“The #Bengals placed DE Amani Bledsoe on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, and elevated DT Kahlil McKenzie from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement.”

Rapoport made it clear that this positive test won’t stop the game from happening, though.

Tom Pelissero said contact tracing helped give the game a green light:

Bledsoe has been a key part in helping along a battered unit still making a scheme change.

The Bengals, 2-8-1, enter Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and continue to get ready for kickoff at 1 p.m. ET.

Bengals sign free-agent DE Amani Bledsoe

The Cincinnati Bengals added Amani Bledsoe to the roster.

[jwplayer 0wERBAuS]

For the second day in a row, the Cincinnati Bengals have added a defensive end to the roster.

This time it’s Amani Bledsoe, a signee via free agency the team announced on social media.

Bledsoe spent three years in college with the Oklahoma Sooners, registering four sacks. He started 14 games as a senior and had previously had a notable lawsuit against the NCAA over an additional year of eligibility. He latched on with the Tennessee Titans in 2019 and spent time on the practice squad before getting waived this past July.

The news here comes a day after the Bengals added Bryce Sterk via the waiver wire from the Miami Dolphins, making it two defensive ends added as training camp really kicks into gear with pads going on early next week.
