Where are Kyle Filipowski’s most likely NBA draft homes according to betting odds?

DraftKings has some lines for Kyle Filipowski with the NBA draft just hours away, and one team shows up as the major favorite.

The NBA draft will get underway on Wednesday evening with the first 30 names finally coming off the board, and the odds think former Duke basketball star [autotag]Kyle Filipowski[/autotag] will get a new hat and the chance to walk across the stage.

According to the DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m., one specific team late in the first round seems like Filipowski’s presumed suitor.

The New York Knicks, who made a splash on Tuesday night with a trade for Brooklyn Nets star Mikal Bridges, own back-to-back picks at 24th and 25th overall, and Filipowski has the lowest odds for both selections.

He’s still not an overwhelming favorite for either spot, hovering between +400 and +600 in both spots. ESPN Analytics supports the idea that Filipowski could go literally anywhere, including having to wait until the second round on Thursday. But DraftKings thinks no better has a better chance to end up in the Big Apple.

What sort of rumors are we hearing about the San Antonio Spurs’ draft plans?

There’s a chance they simply trade the picks for an established player or two, depending on the offers they hear.

What sort of rumors are we hearing about the San Antonio Spurs‘ draft plans just hours ahead of the event? The only sure thing we know for certain about the team is that San Antonio’s front office has big plans to add the sort of talent around rising star Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama to speed up the team’s current rebuild.

Does that mean that they will use their two lottery picks in the 2024 NBA draft at Nos. 4 and 8 on taking the players they deem best at those spots? Or might they trade up or even out of this draft for higher-value picks?

There’s even a chance they simply trade the picks for an established player or two, depending on the offers they hear.

The folks behind the “TSR Sports” YouTube channel put together an update on the latest chatter they are hearing. Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.

Jared McCain is the betting favorite for four different NBA draft picks, per DraftKings

With less than 12 hours before the 2024 NBA draft, DraftKings thinks Duke basketball star Jared McCain will go in one of four places.

The 2024 NBA draft is here, and former Duke basketball star [autotag]Jared McCain[/autotag] will find out his first professional home this evening. According to the DraftKings Sportsbook, there are three specific draft picks to circle as his potential landing spots, and they actually all come in a row.

As of 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, McCain is the betting favorite for the Portland Trail Blazers with the 14th pick. He’s also the betting favorite for the Miami Heat at 15th overall. Oh, and he’s a co-favorite for the Philadelphia 76ers at 16th overall. If that’s not enough, he’s also the favorite for the Orlando Magic at 18th overall.

No individual spot takes the reigns as a massive favorite for McCain despite the onslaught of teams in the mix listed above. His lowest odds for any individual spot is +500 for the Orlando Magic, which still essentially implies a long shot by draft standards.

The Ringer’s final NBA mock draft pairs a Duke basketball star with Lakers coach JJ Redick

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor released his final NBA mock draft on Wednesday and paired one Blue Devil with new Lakers coach JJ Redick.

Will JJ Redick, Duke’s all-time leading scorer and the newest head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, end up with a former Blue Devil as his first draft pick? One expert says so.

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor released a new NBA mock draft on Wednesday morning, just hours before the first round, and he paired the Lakers with Duke prospect [autotag]Jared McCain[/autotag].

O’Connor said McCain, who shot better than 41% from beyond the arc, reminded him of something “between Steph and Seth Curry,” invoking the best shooting family in basketball history. He also pointed out that the Lakers took fewer 3-pointers than almost any other team in the NBA last season.

“Redick wants to take pressure off LeBron James and start running more offense through Anthony Davis,” O’Connor wrote. “So it’d make sense for them to find a shotmaking guard like McCain, who could fly through AD handoffs or run a pick-and-roll with LeBron screening or spacing.”

O’Connor also had [autotag]Kyle Filipowski[/autotag], an All-American as a sophomore last season, to the New York Knicks with the 25th overall pick, one of the 7-footer’s most likely destinations.

The 2024 NBA draft gets underway with Wednesday’s first round broadcasted on ABC and ESPN.

Kyle Filipowski tumbles to the second round in Bleacher Report’s final NBA mock draft

With the sun up on the morning of the NBA draft, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman thinks Filipowski might need to wait until Thursday.

The 2024 NBA draft is finally upon us, but one expert thinks Duke basketball star [autotag]Kyle Filipowski[/autotag] might need to wait another night.

Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman released a final mock draft on Wednesday morning ahead of the opening round, and he had the All-American 7-footer tumbled down to the second round. Wasserman slotted the forward to the Utah Jazz with the 32nd pick.

Filipowski had one of the best two-year runs in recent Duke memory, winning ACC Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman before being named to the All-ACC First Team last season while averaging 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Wasserman said that Filipowski’s measurables, with a wingspan smaller than his height, won’t push him up the board, but other traits would buoy his draft stock.

“His shooting range, post skill, improved finishing and passing and defensive mobility create versatility teams should covet,” Wasserman wrote.

The 2024 NBA draft gets underway on Wednesday evening with the first 30 selections broadcast on ABC and ESPN. Will Filipowski hear his name called?

Report: Nets believe they can trade into first-round of 2024 NBA Draft

Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Brooklyn Nets believe that they can trade into the late first-round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Brooklyn Nets have begun the process of entering into a full rebuild as they traded Mikal Bridges on Tuesday to the New York Knicks in exchange for draft picks and forward Bojan Bogdanovic. Despite that trade very much setting up Brooklyn for the next few years, their job is not done.

Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Nets could be looking ahead to the 2024 NBA Draft, the first round of which begins on Wednesday at Barclays Center, the home arena for Brooklyn and the WNBA’s New York Liberty. There has been recent reporting that the Nets had been interested in trying to acquire a first-round pick outside of the lottery and they seem confident in being able to pull that off.

“Looking ahead to the NBA Draft, Brooklyn believes it could get into the 20s if a player the Nets like fell into that range, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote. “One player who could be dangled to a playoff-caliber team for such a pick could be (Dorian) Finney-Smith, who has a $15.38 million player option for the 2025-26 season.”

With the Draft beginning in just mere hours after the writing of this article, it’s hard to know at this time who the Nets would be interested in given that most, if not all, of the players that they had pre-draft workouts with are either second-round picks or not expected to be drafted.

The one thing that Brooklyn was unable to do, assuming they were looking to do so, was get a pick in the 2024 Draft. While setting themselves up for multiple bites at the Draft apple over the next few years seemed like the most important task for general manager Sean Marks and governor Joe Tsai, taking a player in this Draft could be something like icing on the cake of big moves that they have made prior to the Draft.
