2022 Strongsville, Ohio offensive tackle Blake Miller released his final five schools on October 19, and the Florida Gators, along with the Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers, Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes, made the cut.

Miller is a four-star recruit and, according to the 247Sports Composite, the No. 34 offensive tackle prospect in the class and a top-10 player in the state.

John Hevesy, Florida’s run game coordinator and offensive line coach, has been his primary recruiter.

While it is good news the Gators are in the mix for the 6-foot-6-inch, 315-pounder, the Columbus-based Buckeyes, located about 125 miles southwest of Strongsville, are the favorites.

Ohio State has had their offensive line coach, Greg Studrawa, running point on Miller’s recruitment, and the school possesses all three of his Crystal Ball Predictions, including one from Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports’ Director of Football Recruiting.

Florida extended Miller an offer on April 14, ten days ahead of the Buckeyes and nearly one month before Gus Malzahn’s Tigers.

The Gators currently only have one commit in their 2022 class, Edison (Miami, Florida) four-star wide receiver Syveion Ellis.

Five-star wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. announced his top 13 schools Wednesday night. Texas is the only Big 12 school to make the cut.

Texas’ 2022 recruiting class has the chance to be special, highlighted by five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers. Four-star cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau and four-star wide receiver Phaizon Wilson join Ewers in the class at this point in time.

With the firepower that is already present, Tom Herman will be trying to bring in even more talent, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. is one of those players and the five-star announced his top 13 schools on Wednesday night. Alabama, Auburn, Arizona State, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, and USC join the Longhorns in the race for Coleman.

Nationally, Coleman is the No. 19 player and the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2022 class. He also ranks as the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri. Current Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver commit Luther Burden is the only player who ranks ahead of Coleman in-state.

With a five-star quarterback, blue-chip targets are bound to follow Ewers to Austin. Wide receiver is going to be a position of strength for Texas in the 2022 class, possibly headlined by in-state guys Caleb Burton and Evan Stewart.

If those two commit to Texas and are joined by Coleman, Mike Yurcich’s offense will be one of the most stacked groups in the entire country, let alone the Big 12.

The Rock says XFL to return to play in 2022

The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson has put down money to restart the XFL and says the league will resume play again in 2022.

Know your role and shut your mouth.

For those of you that got the reference bless your hearts.  For those that didn’t, just enjoy part of my youth for 30 seconds.

The Rock, who goes by Dwayne Johnson in real life purchased part of the XFL a few months back and now says with Dany Garcia that the league will resume play again in 2022.

Some will say that minor league football won’t work and in terms of how much money they’re able to actually generate, they may be right.  I root for it though because it allows for solid football players to continue playing the game even if it’s not at the absolute highest of levels.

It also offers several jobs for those that want to work in sports in some capacity as well.

If you don’t want to watch it (in two years) then don’t, but I’m all for more jobs in sports for those that want to work in them or are capable of playing them.

With that in mind, four former Notre Dame players started the year on XFL rosters this past spring so if nothing else, it gives you a chance to watch more of some of your favorites from Saturdays of years gone by.
