2022 U.S. Open Championship final-round odds, golfers to watch

Analyzing the golf odds entering the final round to win the 2022 U.S. Open Championship at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

Three rounds are in the book at the 2022 U.S. Open Championship and there are only 9 golfers under par in the 3rd major of the season. Below, we look at the 2022 U.S. Open Championship odds entering Sunday’s final round of the 122nd tournament being played in Brookline, Mass. Check back throughout the season for our PGA Tour picks, predictions and bets.

Co-leaders Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick share the lead at 4-under-par 206 heading into the final round at The Country Club, which plays to 7,254, par 70. Fitzpatrick and Zalatoris are No. 22 and 24 players in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

Pre-tournament favorite Rory McIlroy (+1000 before the opening round and now at +900) is very much in the picture. Last week’s RBC Canadian Open winner is tied for 7th at 1-under after rounds of 67-69-73. Defending champion Jon Rahm, who won the 2021 event at Torrey Pines at 6-under par, is in position to repeat. He’s in 3rd, a stroke back, at 3-under 207 after rounds of 69-67-71. He opened at +1300 to win and now is at +380.

U.S. Open – Final pairing

There hasn’t been a playoff in the U.S. Open since 2008, but the 3 previous Opens played at The Country Club have needed extra holes.

Will Zalatoris (+330)

The 25-year-old pro, who opened at +3000 to win, has been flirting with not only with his 1st tour victory but his 1st major. Zalatoris, who lost in a playoff at the PGA Championship last month at Southern Hills, made only one bogey Saturday in shooting a 3-under 67 after rounds of 69-70. He’s made 12 birdies and 8 bogeys in the first 3 rounds and has no double bogeys.

Matt Fitzpatrick (+000)

Fitzpatrick is in the final group for a 2nd straight major after starting in the final group at the PGA Championship. Now the 27-year-old from England is on familiar turf at The Country Club, where he won the U.S. Amateur in 2013. He was steady Saturday and made 3 birdies over his last 5 holes to shoot a 2-under 68 after rounds of 68-70. He has 14 birdies and 10 bogeys in 3 rounds.
