WATCH: Highlights of UNC commit Elliot Cadeau

Check out highlights of UNC basketball commit Elliot Cadeau at the Aces Elite Classic.

The North Carolina Tar Heels’ 2024 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 1 overall in the cycle, headlined by four recruits and three of them being five-star prospects.

One commit that has been elevating his game as of late is point guard Elliot Cadeau.

The five-star recruit was recently named the best passer in the class by a recruiting analyst and has developed into a guard that will fit in well with UNC’s system. On Wednesday, Cadeau along with five-star commit Ian Jackson and 2023 commit Simeon Wilcher participated in the Aces Elite Classic in New York City. And as expected, Cadeau put on a show as you can see in the highlights below.

There are rumors that Cadeau could reclassify into 2023 and become an impact for the Tar Heels right away. The deadline for that is approaching, so UNC fans should know soon enough if that will happen.

Either way, it appears as if Cadeau will make an immediate impact whenever he steps foot in Chapel Hill.

North Carolina Tar Heels vs. NC State schedule update

The North Carolina football program announces kick off time for the NC State game on November 25th.

The highly anticipated North Carolina Tar Heels vs. NC State Wolf pack football game has a schedule update, with the two teams set to face off at 3:30 P.M. eastern time on ABC.Ā  The Atlantic Coast Conference rivalry game will take place in the sold-out Kenan Memorial Stadium on November 25th.

The two teams started with different trajectories as NC State got gifted a 13th ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 Polls to start the season. Meanwhile, UNC cracked the list in week eight.

Despite the early season rankings, North Carolina now sits at No. 17, four spots ahead of No. 21 NC State.

This pivotal meeting has been circled for quite some time, with both teams trading shots throughout the season. There is a chance UNC will have already locked up the ACC Coastal division. However, with the noise outside the field, UNC still has plenty to play for in this meeting.

North Carolina’s running back Caleb Hood will miss the rest of the season

North Carolina will be without running back Caleb Hood for the remainder of this season after sustaining an injury in the 42-24 win over Pitt.

Bad news for the 7-1 North Carolina Tar Heels, as it has been confirmed that running back Caleb Hood will miss the remainder of this season.

Hood was announced the starting half-back in Saturday’s game and had a quick exit with eight minutes left in the first quarter. The injury occurred on a three-yard catch and run, where Hood stayed down after the play was over and missed the rest of the game with an upper-body injury.

The injury bug is not new territory for North Carolina’s running back core, with British Brooks, who was the starter in training camps, had a season-ending injury before UNC took the field in week zero.

The timing could not be worse, with Hood being on a roll lately, earning most of the workload as the season went on. The sophomore appeared in seven games, finishing with 250 rushing yards, 119 receiving yards, and two touchdowns. Hood is tied for the team’s best yards per carry with 5.8.

Knowing that Hood will miss the last stretch of games, including the potential ACC championship and any bowl games. Expect UNC to turn to Elijah Green and Omarion Hampton to close the season.

North Carolina delivers statement win over Pitt in ACC showdown

North Carolina comes up big in the second half to beat the Pittsburgh Panthers 42-24.

The North Carolina Tar Heels extend their win streak to four straight with a 42-24 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers.

UNC vs. Pitt lived up to the hype with multiple questionable calls, player ejections, and spectacular touchdown catches. The game started in Pitts’s favor as they marched down the field 77-yards, capping it off with running back Israel Abanikanda’s 6-yard rushing touchdown. North Carolina’s offense started just as flat going three and out in under two minutes.

That lackluster start instantly changed with UNC’s defense forcing Pitt to a quick three and out, leading to a North Carolina points. Quarterback Drake Maye led the Heels to a 59-yard drive finishing it with a 16-yard one-handed touchdown catch by wide receiver Antoine Green.

Pitt retook the lead with Abanikanda finding the end-zone again on a 4-yard run. After forcing UNC to their third game punt, the Panthers followed up with a field goal, giving them the 17-7 lead. UNC answered the next drive with Maye finding red-shirt freshman wide receiver Kobe Paysour in the end-zone for an 8-yard touchdown.

After the touchdown, both teams got the ball twice, failing to muster up any points, giving Pitt the 17-14 lead at the half.

But it ended with UNC outscoring Pitt 28-0 and the Tar Heels’ defense holding the Panthers to just seven second-half points.

North Carolina got the ball to start the third quarter, but it was Pitt who got on the board first in the second half. North Carolina went three and out, and Pitt answered with Abanikanda finding the end-zone for a third time on a 22-yard rushing touchdown.

The game will only get more chippy as North Carolina begins jawing and matching the aggressive energy Pitt brought. UNC finally broke the goal line again, with Maye throwing his third touchdown pass, this time to Josh Downs.

North Carolina’s defense stepped up again, forcing Pitt into another punt. That led to more UNC points, with running back Elijah Green reaching the end-zone with a 2-yard rushing touchdown to give the Tar Heels a 28-24 lead. And they held that for good.

The party did not stop there, as UNC’s defense came up stout again, forcing Pitt Abanikanda to fumble. Once again, leading to more North Carolina points, with Maye completing his fourth touchdown pass and Downs’ second of the day to give UNC a 35-24 lead.

After another Pitt punt, Maye tosses his fifth touchdown pass, with wide receiver Green finding the end-zone for the second time on a 13-yard grab.

North Carolina, now 7-1, is in a great position to lock up the ACC Coastal for a spot in the ACC championship game. This sort of statement win should also boost their status in the AP polls.

UNC football vs. Pitt: Game preview, info, prediction and more

We take a look at what you need to know for the UNC football program’s matchup against Pitt this Saturday.

The 6-1 North Carolina Tar Heels are rolling and will look to continue the drive over their next speed bump, the 4-3 Pittsburgh Panthers.

UNC has finally earned some respect, now sitting No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25 after weeks of knocking on the door to get any credit. They are riding a three-game win streak, molly whopping Virginia Tech 41-10 and outlasting the Hurricanes and Duke Blue Devils on the road.

This game is crucial for North Carolina, they stand atop the Atlantic Coastal Conference standings, and a win could create a more significant gap in their lead. Outside of getting an ACC championship bid, there is a beacon of hope that a strong finish and a win in the title game could put UNC at the door of playoffs.

Pitt has not been able to produce the same magic as last season, with a 1-2 record in the conference, coming off a 24-10 loss against Louisville. On the other hand, North Carolina has sparked up the magic fans expected to see last season, and a big part of that is red-shirt freshman quarterback Drake Maye.

North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Virginia schedule update

The North Carolina football program announces kick off time for the Virginia game on November 5th.

There has been a schedule update as the 6-1 North Carolina Tar Heels will take on the 3-4 Virginia Cavaliers on November 5th with a noon eastern kick-off time.

The schedule update was announced Monday morning, as UNC has eyes on getting an Atlantic Coast Conference championship bid by winning the ACC Coastal division. They are in a good spot with a three-game lead over second-place Georgia Tech after beating rival Duke Blue Devils 38-35.

On the other hand, the Cavaliers havenā€™t quite figured it out, going 1-3 in the conference. However, they muster up an impressive 48-40 win over Georgia Tech.

Right now, UNC is ranked 21 in the associated press top 25 poll, but if they can continue their win streak with a win over Pitt and Cavaliers in back-to-back weeks, then the top 15 should be guaranteed.

Last season North Carolina dominated Virginia, winning 59-39, and will look to repeat the same outcome.

5 things to watch for in UNC football vs Duke matchup

As North Carolina set to hit the road against Duke, we take a look at a few key things you should know before you watch.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are preparing to battle rival Duke Blue Devils in a critical Atlantic Coast Conference meeting.

Unlike years prior, both teams head into the matchup with more to play for than just the Victory Bell, as UNC holds a one-game lead over Duke in the ACC standings. The timing couldnā€™t be better for North Carolina, with their defense finding its identity as of late, dominating Virginia Tech 41-10 and containing the Hurricanes in Miami 27-24 in back-to-back weeks.

Neither team has cracked the Associated Press Poll top 25, but UNC is knocking on the door after receiving the most votes this past weekend to be the next team in. A win to gain distance in the race for a shot at the ACC championship game is the key; bringing the Victory Bell back to UNC is just the icing on the cake.

We look at five things to watch for in this Atlantic Coast Conference showdown.

UNC football vs. Miami Hurricanes early betting odds

The UNC football program are 4.5 point underdogs heading into its week six showdown with the Miami Hurricanes.

The (4-1) North Carolina Tar Heels open up as +4.5 underdogs to the (2-2) Miami Hurricanes for their Atlantic Coast Conference showdown Saturday.

UNC will be on the road to take on Miami after winning 41-10 against Virginia Tech. On the other hand, Miami is coming off a bye week after sustaining back-to-back losses against Texas A&M and Middle Tennessee.

This game was a must-win for UNC, with many claiming the Miami Hurricanes to be a legitimate contender in the ACC and the entire NCAA. However, after Middle Tennessee survived the Hurricanes with a 45-31 upset, this game became more of a prove who is legit or not meeting between the two teams looking to gain respect.

The odds are early and are subject to change. However, as of now, UNC will be looked at as the underdogs in this match-up.

Top college football games to watch this weekend

The 3-0 North Carolina Tar Heels are on a bye week, so we take a good look at some college football games you should be checking out this weekend.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are in their bye week, preparing to take on the Fighting Irish next weekend.

UNC has got off to a great start with no losses on their record, yet has not cracked the Associated Press top 25. North Carolina opponents faced, and the small margin of victory could pinpoint the lack of respect for being ranked.

Despite UNCs’ 63-61 nail-biting week one win over Appalachian State, the Mountaineers still finished with more votes to be considered in the top 25 heading into week three. It’s simple if North Carolina is to get any consideration for the top 25… some big teams will have to fall. Others they have already beaten will need to remain impressive.

This is a weekend that UNC can crack the AP poll even without lacing up by simply watching the other teams take each other out. As North Carolina enjoys a stress-free weekend, we look at some of the best games this weekend that can bring out the sweat buckets and shake up the AP polls.
