The 2022 Freshman All-Bowl Team

Bowl games serve all kinds of purposes for programs and their coaching staffs.

For many, either by design or out of necessity, it’s a chance to get a better look at the youngest players on the roster. This is why so many underclassmen see their most reps in December.

It’s been a particularly good postseason for rookies, none better than the true and redshirt freshmen below.

Freshman Offensive Player of the Bowls
WR Squirrel White, Tennessee

The explosive White looks like the next big thing out of the slot for Josh Heupel and the Volunteers.

He stepped up after Jalin Hyatt opted out of the Orange Bowl, catching a season-high nine balls for 108 yards and a TD in a 31-14 win over Clemson

Freshman Defensive Player of the Bowls
LB Chris Paul, Arkansas
The Razorbacks were without both starting linebackers, Drew Sanders and Bumper Pool, in the Liberty Bowl which created a huge opportunity for Paul to show why he’s the future at the position.

The 6-1, 230-pound thumper had a game-high 12 stops, three hurries and no missed tackles in an OT thriller over Kansas.

Even with the big losses, wild upsets, and insane overall weekend of rivalry games, upsets, and close calls, this was relatively easy this week.

We’re well over three months in – the cake is almost baked.

The top ten sorts itself out, and the big upsets didn’t change things too much, and now we’re all but set with just the conference championships and a few other games to close out the regular season rankings.

These will change through the bowl season and after the national championship. The CFN Season Formula will take a more objective look at what everyone really accomplished, but for now …

College football rankings from CollegeFootballNews.com from 1 to 131 after Week 12

What exactly are we supposed to do with Tennessee in the latest round of college football rankings?

It blew out LSU at LSU, it beat Alabama, it was rolling on through the season with the most acceptable of losses – at Georgia – as the lone blemish, and then it had a very, very bad night.

The blowout loss to South Carolina is only part of the twists in a shockingly strange weekend. Several teams played like they were getting through the day to get to the showdown next weekend, USC and Oregon gutted out two massive wins over UCLA and Utah, respectively, and TCU once again showed that it knows how to find ways to win better than just about anyone this season.

For now, we’ll give a little too much credit for USC rising up and pulling off the shootout win over the Bruins – and won’t punish Tennessee too much – but like we do every week we’ll change things wildly over the final few weeks as needed.

College Football Rankings: 1 To 131 After Week 11

College football rankings from CollegeFootballNews.com from 1 to 131 after Week 11

College Football News 2022 college football rankings after Week 11 for all 131 teams with results and remaining schedules.

Last week was easy. This week really, really wasn’t.

At this point in the season it’s all about who’s playing well now while also putting together the entirety of the puzzle.

And then the Pac-12 imploded.

Week 1 doesn’t exactly mean as much as Week 11, but it’s acknowledged and it’s all in the mix.

There are some massive shifts this week with Arizona, Vanderbilt, and even Boston College shocking the world. UConn beating Liberty was a big part of the fun, too.

With just a few weeks to go, here are the CFN college football rankings from 1 to 131.
