2021 Barbasol Championship odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Barbasol Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

With the world’s top golfers in England for the 2021 British Open, Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, hosts an alternate field for the Barbasol Championship. Below, we look at the 2021 Barbasol Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Jim Herman is back to defend his 2019 Barbasol Championship victory after the 2020 tournament was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Running opposite the final major of 2021, there’s a rather weak field in attendance to challenge him.

As an alternate event, the winner won’t receive a guaranteed invitation to the 2022 Masters but will be granted a two-year PGA Tour exemption.

Luke List (+2200)

List is coming off a T-4 finish at the John Deere Classic and just missed out on an invitation to the British Open. He was fifth in the field last week with 2.52 Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. The 36-year-old remains in search of his first career PGA Tour victory and has an excellent opportunity to obtain it against the weaker competition this week.

He has three total top-10 finishes through 18 events this year. His first two came against much stronger fields at the Farmers Insurance Open and Wells Fargo Championship. He’s making his Keene Trace Golf Club debut, but he’s in excellent form after just missing out on victory last week.

2021 Barbasol Championship picks – Contender

Wilco Nienaber (+5000)

Nienaber, who’s 375th in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings, made his PGA Tour debut a little over a month ago at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree. He finished in a tie for 14th and then tied for 68th at the US Open before heading back to the European Tour for back-to-back missed cuts at the Irish and Scottish Opens.

The 21-year-old South African averaged 1.44 SG: Off-the-Tee per round at the Palmetto Championship to rank third in the field among those who made the cut. He can lean on his driver once again at the 7,328-yard Keene Trace Golf Club.

He won on his home Sunshine Tour in early May.

2021 Barbasol Championship picks – Long shot

Camilo Villegas (+8000)

Villegas, 39, is one of the most accomplished golfers in this watered-down field with four PGA Tour victories, including the 2008 Tour Championship. He’s just 173rd in the Golfweek rankings, but he has had a bit of a resurgence over the last two years with a T-6 showing at the RSM Classic in the fall and a T-8 at The Honda Classic earlier this year.

He tied for 41st at the John Deere Classic but led the field with 2.66 SG: Tee-to-Green per round. His putter has been his weakness this season, but it should be less of a disadvantage at a venue where few in the field have much experience.
