Well, that was easy.
Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball coach Tad Boyle was named as the head coach for the USA Basketball U18 team a few months back.
After getting out to a 2-0 start, Boyle’s team never let up. The conclusion of the FIBA U18 Americas Tournament has earned Boyle and his team a gold medal.
Team USA finished things off with a 102-60 victory against Brazil and was never really tested the entire time. This is the sixth straight gold medal for Team USA, and Boyle got some valuable experience during the past few weeks working with the game’s up-and-coming stars on the court.
The celebration was everything.
Soaking it all in. 🥇

After winning the gold, the Buffs’ Twitter account gave Boyle a shoutout, and athletic director Rick George gave Boyle some appreciation as well.
Way to go @CoachTadBoyle on bring home the hardware. Congrats to you and the team!!!! https://t.co/FBQtZBN9Oy

Boyle now heads back to Boulder and will get back to work on getting his Buffs team ready to play in 2022-2023.
This is now the third medal for Boyle as a coach for Team USA, but this marks the first time he has won gold, in his first season at the helm, nonetheless.
