Stephon Marbury has never been shy about offering up his opinions — whatever they’re about.
Turns out, the former New Jersey Nets point guard has an opinion about national media talking heads, much like everyone else.
Marbury isn’t a fan of them, specifically ESPN’s Stephen A Smith.
The two-time All-NBA guard recently told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy.com exactly how he feels about Smith:
I think Stephen A. Smith, he does what he’s doing for TV. That’s it. That’s the best way to paraphrase what is actually happening, what’s going on. Stephen A. Smith, he’s never played any professional sport.
Marbury then gave his critiques about ex-pro athletes who offer opinions on television about the sports they didn’t play:
I think when you have these guys like him and Shannon Sharpe. When you have a football player talking about basketball, I think you’re doing it an injustice towards people’s ears and understanding about what’s actually happening on the court.
Given how opinionated Marbury is, maybe he should consider getting in front of a mic every so often.
